I was expecting the worst regarding the washboard road since so many people mentioned it like it was insane… it’s not so bad. Coming from a girl that has had lights fall out of the ceiling on bad washboard roads… I give that a 2 out of 10 on intensity!

There’s a piece of land directly on the river where you can drive to. SO BEAUTIFUL!

It’s a bit dead here currently since winter is just ending but I can imagine how beautiful this is once the trees are happy again.

3 bars 3G Roaming with t-mobile.

Appreciate the bathrooms!

Report Check-In

Great place to relax with many spots. Plenty of shade and the river nearby to take a dip (up to the knees).

Report Check-In

Quiet spot, just about 10 minutes from downtown Saratoga. right on the river so TONS of mosquitos.
There were a couple vans, a pop up camper, and a tent there besides me. The road in is a little rough, probably wouldn't try it in a big rv. I didn't have any problems in my tucson, other than getting jostled around.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot. Stay right at the fork for the overnight camping.

Report Check-In

this place is still open despite what the last poster said ..you need to take a right at the fork not a left. 5 day limit

We stayed 2 nights here and had the place to ourselves! The spot on the river rock looked nice but it was hot during our stay so we decided to camp under the trees.

The boat ramp is really just an access road, past the bathrooms toward the river. No high clearance or 4x4 needed, 1 little uneven spot just take it slow.

This entire camping area is surrounded by private ranch land, we had sheep come to visit us on our second day on the other side of the fence.

Road was washboard coming in but not terrible at all and only about 2 miles to the campsite. Take a right at the Y.

Excellent service on visible with we boost. Roaming and very slow on tmobile.

Didn't have too much trouble with the mosquitoes until the evening but the biting flies are out in full force all day.

Great free spot for 5 days!

Great little camping spot near the river. 2 bars of Visible cell service, pit toilets, grass was high and lots of mosquitoes so be prepared!

Also, if you get to the boat access where you see signs that advise no overnight camping, you have gone too far. Go back about 1/4 of a mile (or less) and take the road to left and it will lead you to the camping area. If you come to the Y in the road before you see the boat access area it is the road to the right. you know you are in the right place when you see the pit toilet building and the camping rules sign.

The road in was very washboard and narrow at certain points. The views were beautiful. there are private ranches along the road, but keep going and you will get to the public river access on the left and camping to the right.

Camped overnight in a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring, 2WD.

As advertised, free camping. Bathrooms are nice for being pit toilets.

horrific road getting in, very washboard, very washboarding. the camping area was fine I was the only person here. very close to hobo Hot springs if that's what you're looking for. very quiet then a couple cows mowing, there is a bathroom didn't need it. level sites, I don't think an RV would work here but vans and people with smaller campers would be okay. I went to the right not the left side.

Wow the mosquitos here are no joke! We pulled up at 6pm and didn’t stay.

Mosquitoes are BAD! Like really bad... in July. Very few spots so we drove down the boat dock & camped on the river rock bed. We had the BEST site! Gorgeous sunsets & peaceful river. 4WD and high clearance needed to get to the river. Saratoga has a great FREE hot springs.

Bad mosquitoes!!! Don’t come without heavy spray

Found the camping area, my GPS was way out but there is only one road. Once you come to the boat launch you will see signs about no overnight camping. Go a little further and you will find the campsite with the toilets. Limit of 5 days, nice and peaceful, cool due to shading from trees. Put out my solar panels but not expecting much. River is real close and there was what looked to be puddles left over from a rain storm, which makes me think that maybe if a heavy rain does come it might be an idea to pull out. We were the first one here and got the space behind the toilet block. Took a bit of manuevering in my 27’ Class C but managed to back in and got a fairly level spot. Sketchy AT&T service.

Quiet and perfect. Bathrooms are clean. Plenty of wildlife. Excellent Verizon 4G.

Found the little campground on the North Platte River exactly as described. I’d add that the smooth dirt road from the highway is less than 2 miles. We found a nice spot for our 23’ trailer.

Okay spot, not very secluded but probably great if you like to fish.

After a day spent relaxing in the hot springs in Saratoga we drove a short 20 minutes down the road to Foote Public Access Area. What a gem. Around a small boat launch, several "campsites" are scattered through a sparse forest of tall trees. Two spots have stone fire pits, others are just flat-ish clearings between the trees. There is a very clean pit toilet out house. The public land is surrounded by the 5N Ranch, so please be respectful of the property. Clean up after yourself. It was so quiet at night, and the stars were great through the tree canopy. We saw some deer driving in, and lots of birds. We were entirely alone during our stay.
Driving north on 130 turn left at the 5N ranch sign (there should also be a sign for North Platte River Access, or something similar). Follow the road through the ranch land until you eventually come to a fork. On the left is day parking, on the right is the camp area (5 days free) and out house. Enjoy!
Please respect the tranquility of this place and consider leaving your generator at home.

Foote access area to the North Platte River. Free to camp for 5 days. Vault toilet and trees for some shelter.

Report Check-In

Beautiful quiet spot along the river overnight until the fishers arrived early in the morning.

I stayed to the left of fork without toilets because several people already camping near put toilets to right.

Report Check-In

Great location, Free as advertised with decent pit toilets. Very peaceful setting. We weren’t the only ones here, but were the only ones camping on the rock river bed. No 4x4 required. Saratoga Hot Springs is really close and has a free portion and paid portion (lockers, swimsuits to rent, and towels) that everyone here talks about.

Report Check-In

Public land camping accessible via a dirt road which is doable with normal car. Once you get to the river, the toilets are on the right from the Y.
