You could probably do the same trick elsewhere, ask for a delivery propane truck, then fill it. Lots of farms have big external propane tanks, it's exactly the same fitting than for fixed propane tanks.

We bought a gas bottle here and paid 26,500 pesos (full). Very friendly service.

Report Check-InUS bottles can’t be filled here. The guy was nice and told me Hector Mari can, which is the other entry just down the road.

After 3000km looking around in Arge tina for a place to fill our fixed tank, we finaly found a way.. Go here, and ask for their truck to fill your tank. The truck is here in the morning and at around 4pm. The truck have a pump, a counter, and a hose. They will fill your fixed tank with no problem! They also refill bottles.
