On the road to Samara you have to pass this river, which is not possible at all at the moment
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
today 11.04 in dry season water, not good visibility, follow the Lokals, not straight, 2 entrances, we follow the right not the straight one, in heavy rainsaison may be impossible
Report Check-InPretty high ATM, maybe 50-60cm at the deepest point. Saw a Hilux get through no worries, but we decided not to risk it in our LWB rear drive van.
Report Check-InAround 80cm today, no current and gravel ground, no problem with my Defender.
Report Check-In50 inches / 30 cm at the deepest today. Rocky bottom. Decently strong current. Decided to turn around in our Ford Transit van (not a lot of clearance). Taking the 160 instead.
Report Check-InWe were able to cross with 2WD van with semi high clearance. No issues for us. Water level was knee high.
Report Check-InCrossed today in rainy season. Deepest part was between knee and crotch. Doable with 4x4.
2 days earlier it was waist height and not possible to cross.
<1.5’ Did the crossing in a VW bus. No problem but helped to watch someone for the right line.
Report Check-InIt being dry season now (March) the crossing was only 30cm deep. Any SUV can do it at this moment
Report Check-InAbout 50cm deep today at the right side of the crossing (heading to samara).
Report Check-Incrossed here was possible with a hight of 40- 50 cm, no crokodiles locals were bathing
Report Check-InWater was about knee deep and no problem for a car with high clearance. We had a local pick up crossing right in front of us and it looked like he does it all the time since he had his ideal track which we followed. I would recommend to wait for a local and if no local comes they probably take another road because the river could be to deep later in rain season. This seems to be a high frequented road.
Report Check-InWater at ankle high. Maybe a bit more. But the bottom is all small rocks. My 2 wd minivan needed to be pulled out after digging in the rocks as I tried to get on the front river bank.
If you don't feel VERY confident about your vehicle, don't try to make it, take another path
very dry. probably less than a foot. if you are coming from south, just pass at the very left, that's the shallowest part.
Report Check-InNot a big problem at present. About 2’ deep. We waited for a dump truck to pass us and show us his preferred route which was to belly out to the right (heading south) and we had no problem in our heavily-weighted stock pickup truck. We did have it in 4x4 lock but unsure if it was necessary.
Report Check-InWent in by foot, had to go back before midway as my shorts were getting wet :) I'm not the tallest man alive, but I'd guess at least 60cm deep :) we turned around.
Went to check another spot to cross this river about 500m further. I think this is worse because less wide. When we got there a small Toyota pickup had sunk 5m from the shore. According to locals, this happens a lot.
The alternative route is via San Francisco. Coming from Samara and from the coordinates indicated here, turn back, take left where the road splits in a Y, continue until you get to the pavement and turn left again. Continue for maybe a minute until you have a ferreteria on your right. Turn left again. If you get to the fuel station, you're too far. After the 3rd left, just follow the road.
This road is horrible with potholes but will get you around the river crossings.
Report Check-InUPDATE (May, 1, '17) River is currently around 2ft deep. Went up to just below my knees. Most SUV type vehicles were passing just fine.
