everything is said, but you should know, that they provide electricity only by solar.
So you can charge your mobile and other small devices, but not the batteries of your vehicle.
but nevertheless...
we love this camp!

Report Check-In

Fabulous place just 6km from Tunduma border post. Friendly welcome from Tanya, clean abulutiobs and kitchen area. Recommended

Report Check-In

Beautiful place with beautiful people! We arrived unannounced at 7:30pm in pouring rain and we were treated to a friendly welcome and warm smiles by Cyrus and owner. We used their very clean and neat chalets due to the rains @ usd20 p/p, kids 12 and under free. Price list posted under photos.

Report Check-In

Stopped on way to Tanzania from Kapishya Springs. Took us around 4.5 hours to get here. Great place to stop - clean, tidy and very friendly staff. We camped and one of us stayed in the room. Ablutions very clean and just what we needed. Kitchen open plan with seating and nice rooms too. It is a great cause and your camping fees support the education of food security and agriculture.

Report Check-In

More than perfect stopover before or after the border. Lovely people, great facilities, neat and clean.
They now also have what they call a 'flat', which is a small 4-person apartment which we used as a family for $50. Really good value for money. Highly recommended place.
New and very good road to the border by the way, takes little over an hour now.

Report Check-In

Superb campsite with a few pitches nestled in amongst the trees. There is a decent camp kitchen, fire places, seating area, and nice ablutions. Quite a few bugs there when we went but mostly at night.

Also, Tanya who runs it is very friendly and chatty, and does her best to help.

Definitely worth a stay.

Report Check-In

One of our best stops. Lovely campsite in every way. We haven’t enjoyed “the bush” as much since KNP! A must stop.

Report Check-In

An oasis just off the GreatNorth Road, a musty stay over, sort we could only stay one night. Probably one of the best camp site so far on our two and a half month journey through East & Central Africa. A mission station with incredible work been done by Celia & Boet. A Must!!!!

Report Check-In

Great place! It is a good place to stay over before crossing into or out of Tanzania. Very good value for money especially the chalets. They do a great job with their community upliftment programme.
Facilities are well maintained and one feels at home. Well done to the team at Kings Highway!

Report Check-In

Lovely campsite and chalets. Quiet at night. Clean, hot showers and kitchen facilities. We arrived late in the evening and the staff were very helpful in showing us the way around. Perfect stop-over for us.

Report Check-In

Loved this place. We arrived at 11:30 AM and were greeted warmly by the staff. The lady showed us around and let us pick a campsite. Ablutions are 10/10. Very clean and amazing hot water showers. Also a very convenient kitchen with gas cooker.

Phone signal is bad. At one place we managed to get some 3g signal, but that was about it.

Price is still $10 or 180 kwacha pppn

Report Check-In

Great place to camp after or before Tanzania/Zambia border. Good ablutions, with hot showers (just be careful many spiders) Good kitchen facilities. No designated campsites but you can drive between trees and set up camp. There is an Agriculture School on the grounds with students- ask for a mini tour its very interesting and the students have a wealth of knowledge. Camping is still $10/pppn. NOTE: if paying with dollars they request dollar bills series 2017 and above.

Report Check-In

Beautifully kept rest camp with lovely huts for $30 or campsite for $10pp, as off current exchange rate we paid K200pp for camping with roof tent. Great facilities - kitchen, bathroom and HOT, powerful showers! 🙌 Really friendly and kind people. Wished we could have stayed longer but a person stopping point 1.5hrs from TZ border.

Report Check-In

this is a very beautiful and clean campsite. The road coming from south is for most parts in reasonable/good condition. Apparently only the 40km to the border is in bad condition.

Report Check-In

As described, nice, quiet and very organized. Perfect stop to get off the terrible road..... Opted for a room, really well decorated and comfortable @260kwa. Free firewood, great facilities. Tanya was always on hand if anything was needed. Definitely worth planning into the trip across that disastrous T2.

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite with clean, nice ablutions with steaming hot showers. Nice communal kitchen with filtered drinking water free to use. Braai stands and lapas to hang out. Many water taps around on campsites. Feels almost like a luxurious place after Tanzania. Very friendly staff. Quiet, beautiful place. 150 kwacha/pppn for camping. Chalet would have been 225 kwacha/pppn sharing for 2 ppl. Chalets don’t have their own toilet or shower. Great place for the night when coming from/going to Tz.

Report Check-In

camp site and cottages. Really nice quiet place after or before you attempted the border crossing. Friendly staff, clean toilets and showers with hot water. Well worth a stop over.

Report Check-In

Pretty nice place if you go / come from Tanzania. Arrived late, they light a fire for me, showed me around. Clean ablutions with hot water, communal kitchen. $ 17,- for a super cool chalet, paid half the price as I arrived late. Very friendly staff. Camping $ 10,- pppn.

Report Check-In

A very nice place to stop near the Tanzanian border. They were doing some renovations, so they let us stay in a (nice) cottage for the same price as camping. They and their kids are very friendly and helpful. They helped us with information about banks, roads, etc. And even with some clutch oil before we left.

Definitely a nice place to stay after or before a chaotic border crossing.

Report Check-In

VERY nice campsite with clean ablutions and hot showers. Also kitchen and laundry washing facilities. Management team very welcoming and willing to assist with anything and everything. A real chill spot after a hectic border crossing and 60 km of very poor road conditions. Recommend.

Report Check-In

Stunning campsite as described. The price is the equivalent of 10$ pppn in Kwacha.

Report Check-In

Nice place but very expensive and to pay extra for wifi seems a bit silly.
Also, they go off current exchange rate so even though Zam kwacha has depreciated it's still the same price here.

Report Check-In

Rally nice place about 1hr from the Tunduma/Nakonde border.

Follow the sign on the side of the road not the directions from Google or maps.me.

Paid USD17 per hut (up to 2 people).

One large ablution block with hot water and kitchen/eating area.

The manager is very friendly and can advise on border conditions.

Report Check-In

a great place about an hour and a half away from the order of Tanzania. camping is $10 PPN and bungalows are $15 PPN plenty of shaded trees and nice and quiet. would be nice when they get electricity to the sites but otherwise warm showers clean bathrooms western toilets great for a night or two.

Report Check-In

Nice hospitality, 10$ pppn, bad MTN signal. You can use Wi-fi 1.5G for 30K

Report Check-In

It‘s open now. Very friendly, clean and very calm. Hot water for shower! You can also make a trekking at the river and see and hear a lot of birds.

Report Check-In

It was actually closed when we arrived after a very long day at the Nakonde border, but it was already dark so we tried and drove up to the campsite. Luckily they allowed us to camp. They probably are opening up next month.
Perfect place to camp before or after the Nakonde border, or to stay an extra night! Very quiet place with lots of birds. Clean ablutions and friendly SA owners.
$10 or 200kw p.p.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay before or after the border. Price is now 150kw or $10us, he goes off the current exchange rate.

Report Check-In

10/10 would recommend. Exceptionally well maintained lodge with chalets and campsites. Truthfully one of the nicer places we've been to. I was pleasantly surprised with the small things like sidewalks and solar lighting and overall design. Definitely a great stop over point while travelling a not so great road. Camping is 100KW pppn. Water is not drinkable from the taps but filtered water is available.

Report Check-In

Nice place, nice surprise. All as mentioned above. 100 kW PP

Report Check-In

Great spot and a warm welcome, hot showers and firewood provided. Highly recommended stopover. Kids half price.

Report Check-In

On the great pothole road, close to the border with Tanzania, you will find this nice little campsite with cottages.
The place is perfect for a stop-over or even more. Clean location under shaddy trees, kitchen with seating area, clean showers (with hot water) and toilets and braai facilities. There is no bar and no restaurant on site. Wifi is available - 500mb for 40 kwacha. Camping is still 100 kwacha pppn or $10.

Report Check-In

Lovely place, very friendly staff. everything looks beautiful, well mentained and clean. If you like running there is a little track of 3k in the forest with nobody around. 100 pp

Report Check-In

As described before. Very nice hot shower with good water pressure. Shady places among trees. Kitchen with filters for drinking water. Very friendly staff. 100Kw pp

Report Check-In

This camp was a total surprise for us. We didn´t expect much from a place close to the great north road but the campsite is spacious with a lot of trees. They have big Bomas where you can spend the hot hours during daytime. There is a huge self catering kitchen and the ablutions are very well maintained. We only wanted to stop over but decided to relax for two days.

Report Check-In

Previous info posted is accurate except there is no electricity, only solar lights in and around ablutions. Nice peaceful spot and well located well off otherwise noisy main Gt North Rd.

Report Check-In

Lovely quiet campsite with basic but clean facilities. Owners very helpful and knowledgeable about border crossing as they often go to Malawi

Report Check-In

Lovely camp. Nice ablutions. Solar powered so hot water only when sunny. Camp perfect except night we stayed there were insect researchers with generator running all night. 100ZKW pppn.

Report Check-In

As written below, very nice place. 1,5 km gravel road from the main road, but acsessable with car and truck, even in rainy time. Nice owner, 100 zkw per adult, 50 per child over 6.

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite with cottages, good and clean toilet and shower block, no restaurant or bar, price 100 zkw
