llegamos a las 19.30hs a la frontera. No queríamos llegar tan tarde pero termino siendo bueno xq los trámites fueron rapidísimos.
SALIDA COLOMBIA:
MIGRACIONES: Sellan pasaporte
ADUANA: Cierran el tip del auto solo con mostrarles el mail de autorización de entrada o la tarjeta de propiedad. recomiendo esperar a q te llegue el mail de confirmación del cierre del tip.
ENTRADA A ECUADOR:
MIGRACIONES: Pasaporte, antecedentes penales apostillados (somos argentinos y lo hicimos todo online)..nos dieron 180dias
ADUANA: Tarjeta de propiedad, licencia de conducir y pasaporte. te hacen sacarle foto al auto de adelante, atrás y al num de chasis. Nos dieron 180d también

Todo el trámite de salida y entrada nos llevó 1 hora.
Migraciones y DIAN de colombia están abierto las 24hs los 7 días de la semana
Migración de Ecuador también pero migración y Aduana de Ecuador está abierto hasta las 22hs.

Update during state of Emergency: Hans at Finca Sommerwind +593 93 937 1170 can put you on the ministry of tourism list for a proper 90 day visa without the records checks. Contact him 3 days in advance on whatsapp. He will need some info about when and where you cross and goes photos of your passports.
print one copy of the list you send him per person crossing. Immigration asked us for 1 copy each. (including names and info for everyone crossing).
Super easy border crossing, took under 2 hours.

Arrived at 13:18 from Colombia with our dog, finished in Ecuador at 14:39 (81 minutes), including 2x Ecuadorian SIM cards.

COLOMBIA: As you come down the hill, there's a bend to the right. Park there. Customs is in first building and took a few minutes to close TIP. if you don't have papers, they print them out.

Immigration is in next building down, with entrance on the south side. If the emergency exit is open on the north (across from customs, walk in there).

DOG: We parked between the 2 buildings with dog hanging out the window. Nobody cared - we didn't visit a vet or have any exit paperwork. (All vaccines up to date, including titer).

ECUADOR - cross the bridge and you can easily pass immigration and customs if you want, but not recommended. We asked where to park and they directed us to the southern end of the building (turning left as if we were exiting Ecuador).

IMMIGRATION super easy, 90 days EU PP
CUSTOMS Take photo of all 4 sides, and 5th picture of VIN # on your phone. They take pictures of your phone photos.
DOG was barking in the van, nobody cared.

Plenty of money changers.

Walked to Claro vender and got 2 SIM cards - $5 for SIM, 30 day packages from $12-20.

Two $1 tolls on the way to Ibarra. ATM in first two towns didn't work.

Be sure to visit the cemetery in Tulcan

Border crossing - Colombia to Ecuador. Our border crossing took less than two hours - we only needed our passports for exiting colombia and entering ecuador, and for our van we needed the vehicle registration and drivers licence corresponding to the registered keeper. The only confusing part was finding obvious parking as we almost exited the border crossing looking for parking. We ended up parking behind the Ecuadorean border crossing building. Fairly straightforward.

Ecuador to Colombia:

Entered the boarder at around 12:30. Took us about 2,5h in total.

We couldn’t manage before to do the online migration. When we told this the woman at the columbian aduana, she directly let us use their computer for it and it worked perfectly and fast.

Very friendly on each station. Nobody checked our van.

So everything easy going, but need to wait at some stations (we needed to wait about 1h at the ecuadorian aduana, because there was a loooong cue)

We arrived after 11 and it took us 2,5 hour to get the leaving stamp from Ecuador and another 30min to end the TIP! They wanted even a pic of a car from now, so we had to go to the parking lot. Annoying. Enter Colombia easy and fast. Almost no one there in the afternoon.

Colombia to Ecuador. We arrived at 7:00 am. Check out Colombia was really fast. We were the first in line for our exit stamps and cancelling our tip. Then drove to the Ecuadorian side. Also first in line for our entry stamp. Then we had to wait 30 minutes, because the aduana opens at 8:00 am. Also here we were first in line. So when they opened it took only 30 minutes and we were on the road again. Our fastest border crossing! We think because we were early because when we left there was a huge line at the Migracion Ecuador.

Ecuador to Colombia, I recommend you to pass at 6.30 am. They asked for passports only!! VEHICLE: take picture of plate, chassis number, drive license, passport's first page and Colombia entry stamp, make a PDF with those photos and upload it to the Colombia webpage. They open at 7am, there are computers and wifi to do the paperwork and the ladys working here helped us with everything!! ALL FOR FREE and nobody checked inside of our van.

Ecuador a Colombia. Te recomiendo cruzar 6.30am. Pidieron solo pasaportes!! VEHICULO: Sacá fotos de patente, nro de chasis, licencia de conducir, primer hoja de pasaporte y sello de entrada a Colombia, hacé un PDF con esas fotos y subilo a la pagina web de Colombia. Abren a las 7am, hay compus y wifi para hacer el tramite y las chicas que trabajan acá nos ayudaron con todo!! TODO GRATIS y nadie revisó nuestra van.
