Description

*Ask for Anthony on the pink house just before quetzal view sign (park just after the bridge and walk up the hill to the left and his house is on the right)*

Beautiful spot on the river!! (Way nicer and cheaper than Suenos del Bosque). 12$ for 2 people in a camper. There are 3 really nice spots to park your car: the first is on the flat grassy area as you're heading down toward the river and the other two are actually on the river. Super quiet and relaxing place. Wear those layers because it's coldddddd. Also, Los Lagos Restaurante (across the street) is in the same family and they have wifi and huge portions of delicious food.

- for a hot shower: open the valve just a little bit so you will use less water and the water gets the chance to get hot.

We texted & WhatsApp’d this place days in advance. No response. Took a chance & showed up & followed info in previous posts here. Couldn’t find anyone onsite even though dog & cars were there. Knocked on door of casa. Tried to call but no answer. It looked like a great place to camp. We drove down road to Sueños

Report Check-In

Very nice place to stay, you can stay next to the river, fish trouts or even make a pit fire.
Because of no bathrooms, we negotiated 2000pppn.
Just be aware of the steep and narrow street after you leave the main road. We had some trouble to get back up with our 3.5t fwd Campervan, as it is only a single lane road.

Report Check-In

Stayed for 1 night - 3000C pp.
Very quiet and peaceful. Cool temperature.

Unfortunatly they don’t have bathrooms at the moment.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

All the given information is correct. Nice place and very friendly people! Nice trail to a waterfall. As already mentioned, at night it’s very cold!

Report Check-In

Nice place near the river. Not so easy to get down to the camping area if you have a large vehicle.
The price has really increased, now 6,000 Colones per person... Non-negotiable.
Access to the waterfall trail and the observation point for the Quetzales.
Toilets more or less clean, without paper.

Report Check-In

The lodge has a small, nice campground right by the river. 3000pp/pn, showers, flush toilet
But the best thing about this place are the Quetzales! The owner showed us their preferred trees and we saw 5 the evening we arrived! And we were alone to observe them. The next morning, several groups came to observe the birds and we saw a few more.
Lovely owners, very recommendable!

Correct name is: Casa Monge. The bridge to access the property is bases on tree trunks and can probably carry up to 10 tons (just my estimate), the height limit is around 3.2 to 3.4 meters depending on the width (the bridge has a gable roof). Stayed here 2 nights. Paid 4000 pppn. The place at the river is close to the bathroom building where you have water and electricity. The quetzals can be seen flying around at sun rise and sun set, but you can find them in their trees also during daytime. The owners can show you the favorite trees of these birds. January to March is a good time to come here as the males have the long feathers at this time of the year.

Report Check-In

great camping spot by the river
great spot to see quetzals by the wild avocado tree before waterfall trail entrance (5min walk) at 5.30am and 4 to 5 pm.
nice long waterfall (about 1.5km up steep rugged track)
flushing toilets (a bit blocked) when we where there and warmish shower.
we paid 3000 colones

This place is permanently closed.

Nice, quiet spot to camp. Wifi, shower (warmish water), flushing toilets with seats (without toilet paper) and nice surrounding. To enter the property you have to cross the river on a bridge. Hight limitation is around 3.1 meters. We paid 12 US $ for 2 in a Truck Camper. Our cat was free. Didn’t use electricity but there are plugs at the building.
It’s a really quiet place with a nice walk to a waterfall and interesting little houses to rent.

In the morning around 7.30 we saw a male quezal at the entrance to the waterfall trail.
Tour operators are coming here in the morning to spot the Quezales. Because we are camping we where not charged with the 6$ p.P. to do the trails.

Beautiful place to camp right next to the river. We fit in our truck camper. They have toilets, hot shower and wifi now. There are places to have fires and BBQs. We paid 4000 colones pp. very beautiful area. Sadly it was not the right time of year to see quetzals. No cell service at all.

Come here if you need to escape the heat. It was 95 degrees when I left Quepos and when I arrived here late in the afternoon it was 60 degrees. The temperature dropped further into the night.

The bathrooms are clean and the showers are warm.

The only noise you’ll hear is from the birds and the rushing waters nearby.

Report Check-In

We’re here in our rooftop tent/4x4 and are staying 2 more nights because it’s so beautiful. We’ve paid 8000 colones per night for 2 people as we don’t want electric but there’s running water and the cleanest showers and toilets we’ve seen so far! Plus the parking spot for an over lander is stunning. It’s definitely cold - last night we were at 6degrees but it was a refreshing break from the heat of the coast. If you can’t find anyone when you get here - either try the restaurant or walk up the hill opposite the camping entrance to the house - they are the owners.

Report Check-In

They want $10 USD/PP, we couldn’t negotiate for less we didn’t stay. Seemed decent but there are nicer places with better amenities around for the same price.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay, really clean bathrooms and beautiful views. We went to the restaurant to ask about camping and the young guy followed us here to show us around. Full use of electricity and palapas (which have seats, firewood and grill to cook on) if we wanted and managed to agree to $16 for two people for two nights.

Report Check-In

Great location for camping right on the Savegre. Bathrooms close to sites. Individual sites have shelter area, electricity, and grill area (bring charcoal). Bring a 2 prong extension if you want to be able to run electricity towards vehicle. Beautiful property worth exploring. Dogs welcome. Very friendly owner and family. We will go back.

Beautiful spot on the river!! (Way nicer and cheaper than Suenos del Bosque). Originally Luis, the owner, wanted $20 for two people but we told him we didn't need electricity or the palapa and he lowered it to $10 total. There are 3 really nice spots to park your car: the first is on the flat grassy area as you're heading down toward the river and the other two are actually on the river. Super quiet and relaxing place. Wear those layers because it's coldddddd.
