Huge open area bordered by Aspens. 14 day limit. OK Cell service with booster on T Mobile & Verizon. Very quiet, especially at night. No OHV also, so daytime is quiet other than a little road noise from Million dollar highway. Easy access, huge field, plus 3 more spots in the trees down the dirt double track through the aspen, if you have a van or SUV. Pretty buggy when we were there. Stayed 3 nights. Between Durango and Silverton, making it nicely convenient to a lot of trails.

Came to Durango for Purgatory with a 2WD van and was able to get to this spot w/o chains. Parked behind a line of cars along the road.
Report Check-InLarge area plenty of parking for van, rv or trailer. Road is full of pot holes so drive slowly, but it’s flat so it’s not hard to navigate. Stayed 3 nights. Most of the camping areas are level enough. A bunch of tent people in white vans came the second night and stayed, little odd but overall love this stop!
Report Check-InLovely rolling meadow. Plenty of others were there, one “pull through” spot was available for a motorhome with a tow. The road in is in decent shape —some potholes, protruding rocks— but nothing too serious. Cascade Creek is gorgeous, and well worth the hike. The wide open sky is good for both stargazing and solar charging.
AT&T works fine.
Report Check-InLarge area perfect for big rigs. Some people there also. Not much intimacy. There is a trail that leads to the river down but it has been partially destroyed by i dont know what. Not much cell signal.
Report Check-InWe stayed here on a Thursday night in August, and arrived around 530pm. Wow! Every spot was practically full in the first two open lots. We drove about 2 miles up the rocky road and stayed just before Potato Lake. It was a little dicey with the large rocks in the road, but our van isn’t AWD and we were ok
Report Check-InBeautiful open spot to stay and spend the night. Nice and quiet. A few other campers were there.
Report Check-InRoad is clear of snow and grass is green! Great spot to stop and sleep for the night. Wasn’t very busy when we were here, lots of fire pits. Would come back again!
Report Check-InEnd of April and still snow on the road. Beautiful views!! 2nd time visiting this spot.

Report Check-Innice forest, easy access, a lot of spots with fire rings. had a flat nice spot next to the wooded area.
Report Check-InThis place is great. Large open field with at least 10 sites with fire rings and much more space if needed. The dirt road was very easy to drive on. We had our 170ext and a 12ft trailer 38ft total no problem
Report Check-In(This review is for a spot further up the road, but it is showing up here for some reason)

Pull out on Lime Creek Rd. Pretty bumpy getting here and the signs say high clearance recommended. I made it in my 2 WD Ford E 250, but went verrry slow. Several fire pits, but only enough room for a car or 2 unless you pull up onto the flat-ish rock along side the road. Spotty Verizon and AT&T.
Easy spot right off of the road. Lots of camping spaces with a fair number of neighbors. You can hear the river down below!
Report Check-InGreat place! beautidul view and the perfect place to stay and explore the area
