passing the gravel pit that is on the right, take the right path to get to this point.
On the left site you can find a other place, too.
A good ground level site right on a lake. Unfortunately the floor has a lot of stones. Very little to no mosquitoes. fireplace available. unfortunately a bit rubbish. the lake is gladly used by others. the lake is located below an approach path, so it gets very noisy at night from time to time. you can hear squirrels all the time. suitable for tents and vehicles. I can warmly recommend this place.
Tried the other side of the lake because of the sun in the evening. Would not recommend it, cause there are hundreds of nails / screws / glass pieces.. We tried to clear the site, but the chance of getting a flat tire is still high..
Report Check-InNice little lake/pond. Stayed here on a Thursday night and there were a couple of groups of locals that came by looking to hang out here. They seemed somewhat annoyed by people staying here. A very nice place but I wouldn’t stay here on a weekend
Report Check-InTrès belle place à seulement 8 km de la ville près du lac beaucoup mieux que Walmart
Report Check-InIt's a day use area for canoe lessons (right side). We were told to leave at 8:30 am. If you leave early it shouldn't be a problem, otherwise it's nice.
Report Check-Innice spot, only few mosquitos, stayed on both sides.
Airplanes flying over, but stop in the night and don't start to early in the morning.
Ok lake close to town. Not magical, but quiet.
We went on the right and there was also a circle with lots of nails from pallet fire. We were alone. Across the lake (on the left when you get to the lake), there were 4 vans.
Quiet spot less than 10 mins from Whitehorse. Enough room for 3-4 campers on each side. You hear the planes overhead but it’s flat, free and has cell signal!
Report Check-InGood spot for 1 or 2 night but take care of your tires. There are hundreds, thousands of nails and screw on the flour. Very Very bad
Report Check-InStayed a total of three nights here. Once to the left, twice to the right. Be careful on the left side as we found some nails left over after someone had a pallet fire. Relatively quiet, no issues.
Report Check-InVery small lake but can fit easily several campsite, went here with my 2WD with no worries . few people doing some canoes on the other side . very quiet except a plane at like 11pm and hear a fox (I guess) around the van at like 3am !
best pro : no mosquitoes !!! :)
Beautiful scenery. We spent one night here on a Saturday, very calm. We went to the right and found a big area for ourselves. Some low branches on our way in, but we did fine with our truckcamper.
Report Check-Inquiet better place than Walmart. as described 3-4 spots around the lake. had a quiet night til the first plane started- but not a big deal...
edit 9/3/18: I stayed now in whole 5 nights here. At the Left side from the lake, there are comes sometimes people who making party, so I slept the last 3 night's on the right side. The aircraft traffic changes- at a Sunday morning they are 10 landings, on an other day only one.....
please respect the nature and don't left you waste, and let the Beaver's and the red fox in peace. :-) and enjoy....
it is a small lake with a couple level spots for some tent camping. you can hear some road noise from the highway
Report Check-InNice and quiet spot. Access a bit narrow for big RVs. Were there with our 27ft RV.
Report Check-InDecent spot just south of Whitehorse. Follow ear road down to the small lake and the road makes a loop around it. you should be able to find a nice level spot somewhere around it. Visited on a motorcycle with a tent. You could probably get a small rv or trailer down here but it turns into a narrow dirt road around the lake.
Report Check-InQuiet nice place on a little lake. Nobody there just a red fox, beaver and ducks.
Report Check-InBetter than overcrowded walmart. Some planes fly over your head, but luckily whitehorse international airport isn't the busiest. 4x4 cars can even go further round the lake.
Report Check-InSome places around the Ear Lake - when you don't want to use the Walmart option.
