Latest Check-Ins

Yao greeted us an brought us into his home like old friends, he is very knowledgeable and has many connections all over Ghana. The property is located in the hills so it was cooler overnight, we stayed 2 nights with our van next to the carpark around the back.

On the way to the property, when you pull off the main road you will see many stalls selling fruit and some veg, it's a good opportunity to buy some things becuase there isn't any close to the treehouse. There are no signs for the place, just follow the location on maps and you will be fine.

Limited services for campers, we are mostly self contained so no problem for us. During the day we could use Yaos bathroom but overnight not, so have another option prepared. We refilled our water tanks & had some washing done for us, it came back clean but unfortunately a few of our t-shirts with decals got ruined. We didn't realise until we had left, so be careful with what you submit to be washed.

I recommend staying here

Our two-night stay at the B&B Treehouse, managed by the incredible Yao and his wife, was nothing short of amazing. Yao is not just a host but a connector to Accra, offering valuable contacts from drivers to mechanics, and sharing insights on local tourist spots. Despite being there for business in Accra, which is a convenient 45-minute taxi ride away, we found our discussions with Yao and his wife enriching, touching on their global experiences and adventures. They even suggested mountain bike tours, which we'll surely try next time. For anyone needing to mix business with pleasure in Accra, Yao's place is a perfect choice. With a taxi service that cost us 600 Cedi for a day, taking us around the city and back, our business needs were seamlessly met. Highly recommend for a memorable stay that combines tranquility with convenience.

Fantastic place that offers everything: Rooms, camping, vehicle storage, washing machine, breakfast, dinner, etc. Yao (originally Dutch) and Adg are very helpful if you need anything. Their family and staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating.

I stored my motorcycle here for 2 months, and other overlanders have stored their vehicles here as well. Gated community, absolutely safe to park here.

Rooms have everything (electricity, stable WiFi, warm water, toilet paper, towels, fan or AC depending on the room). Cheapest room is USD 25 (or GHS or EUR equivalent). Outside area is very nice for camping or just to relax. Good place to spend a couple days to relax if needed.

Highly recommend this place for overlanders. Yao can be reached on the number that is already posted here.

We stayed a couple of nights at Yao‘s and his families‘ place and did feel very welcomed. A little bit of a home. We did two day trips from there to Accra for visas. Nice to come back after a day in Accra to this idyllic place.
We did also enjoy the talks with our host, who explained many things to us. We came back for another night on the way up to the north and we had one night in one of the rooms they offer, because one of was not feeling well.
Highly recommended place to stay.
If you stay in your camping car you should have a toilet for the night, because guest washrooms are not accessible in the night.

Lovely, cool and quiet location in the middle of nature, just 45 minutes north of Accra, a family-run B&B with ample space to camp, park your rig of any size, or rent a room with en-suite shower and WC (from EUR 25/night) if you wish for a bit more comfort. We have BBQ facilities in our garden, a kitchen you may use, or we can cater for you as well.

Report Check-In

We do have a kitchen, cooking facilities, and a BBQ place in our huge garden…… I am Yao van Landewijk, the manager of The Treehouse in Aburi, Ghana. No Fear Reizen mistakenly stated we don’t have a kitchen, which is inaccurate. And I’d love to add pictures if possible. Many thanks.

Highly recommend this as a place to stay to chill out for a couple of nights. Yao, his wife Adg and their team were very welcoming. Lovely gardens to sit in under shade and we were also welcomed to sit on their veranda. Great to be able to use a washing machine.
Very quiet at night in a beautiful location.
Good base to visit the Aburi botanical gardens.
