Latest Check-Ins

The glacier is nice but honestly not worth the 11000pp entrance for a 3hr hike. We had no issues turning up without reservation and paying by card on arrival.

Report Check-In

Trucks allowed to enter only until the reception.
Entrance can be paid on the spot, by credit card or cash.

Report Check-In

Beware the Queulat Park is closed all Monday (south entrance).

Report Check-In

Even before the opening time there were cars waiting at the gate which opened a few minutes before 9 (probably like 20-30 people). The rangers arrived at about 8:30.

The website aspticket seems to be under maintenance and is unusable and on the national parks website it was impossible to pay for a ticket.

As reported before, you can get tickets at the gate, you can also pay by card. You need to show your passport.

Report Check-In

We did not have an online reservation, because we had no cellphone reception. We asked at the entrance and it was absolutely no problem. We had to present our passports and could pay the normal price 11'000 per foreigner adult.

As I understood you can enter with no reservation as long as not too many people are in or have am online reservation.
Today it was a bit rainy and probably because of that not too many people were around. But ask at the entrance if you think about seeing the glacier - could be that you can enter.

Report Check-In

Reserved and paid online beforehand, showed ranger a QR code of ticket on our phones to be scanned. Very busy, parking lot was full, so we were made to park and walk from the entrance station, adding 1.5 km each way to the hike. Very nice glacier, we've seen lots by this point, but it was worth it. Huge chunks of ice falling off the glacier and over the cliff.

Report Check-In

New price: 11,000pp for foreigners.
Reservation in advance is still necessary. Today it looked like the camping was closed, there is some construction going on. They also seem to be building a wheelchair-accessible mirador near the 2nd car park.
Beautiful hikes here - very muddy after rain in the night, but very manageable.

Report Check-In

CLP 11,000 book online, pay on arrival! Park open Wednesday to Sunday at present, 9am - 4. 30. Camping closed til 10th December. 1½ hour rainforest hike to mirador, first km quite steep. Lots of mud, tree roots, water, boulders! If you are not energetically inclined the view would be just as good from the boat (CPL15, 000). Other shorter tracks closed.

Report Check-In

Book online before going on https://aspticket.cl/index.xhtml and pay on site 9000pp.
Now the park is closed from Monday to Wednesday.
The hike to the mirador and to the laguna is 8km in total 2h30.
It opens at 9:30am and last checkin is 1:30pm.

Closed on Monday. Reserve tickets in advance.

Very unique place, hikes of durations ranging from 15 min to 3 h. Simply stunning when the sun comes out. Keep an eye out for dolphins when you drive past the sea, we saw 4 :) !

Report Check-In

Because I drive a campervan (3.5 ton, 6m wide, 2.7m heigh, 2.4m wide, 2WD) I was almost discouraged from visiting the park, due to bad comments on motorhomes.
Here is my opinion/observation:
1. It is possible to drive to the park entrance, even with bigger motorhomes. Parking space is limited there, but it is possible and the rangers did not complain.
2. It is possible to drive with a motorhome even to the 2nd parking lot, which is directly at the trailhead. I asked the park ranger and he would have allowed it (I still decided to walk). Other motorhomes were parked at the trailhead parking space.
3. Even walking from the park entrance to the trailhead is not so bad. It is just 1.5km, along the gravel road and with some green vegetation around.

Report Check-In

Visited the park with a pre-reservation online ticket. Paid with credit card at the entrance. A few people being turned away as they didn’t have the prior online reservation. Did the mirador hike and although cloudy at start had a clear view when we got there.

On way back we did the short trail where the boats take you out into the lake. Good view from there as well. Had the place to ourselves. Sat and had our snack with no problem.

Report Check-In

Can confirm you have reserve online before arriving. Pay cash or card at the gate here. For the high price I’d have expected better trial maintenance :-/
Recommend waterproof shoes, there are lots of mud puddles to pass on the hike to mirador. Also the trial was basically a small river at one point (after/during rain). Just so your prepared…

Report Check-In

It's open again, strike is over. 9000 CLP pp (foreigner price). Reserve before getting here, for example in Puyuhuapi, because there is no cell network here.

Report Check-In

Park closed. Rangers strike.
We drove hundreds kms just to see a bunch of A*holes behind closed gate :-(

Report Check-In

Now 9000 entry and reservation required. Add the 1000 to the lady 50Om S past on the Careterra, for using her internet to register, and it’s debatable if it’s worth the time and the money IMO.

Report Check-In

Nice hike up to the viewpoint of the glacier - beautiful! 3.3km 400m climb all through shaded forest. Gets quite busy. You have to reserve online and pay at the park. Website said no motorhomes and caravans and there was a sign at the entrance from the road as well. We asked at the restaurant at the road and they said to drive on to the park entrance 2 km. We have a 6m/3.25m camper truck. Was no problem. Parked at the entrance to pay. We then expected them to tell us we would have to walk the last 1 km to the park, but they told us we could drive on to the parking near where the walks and the glacier boat tour starts

Report Check-In

You can not go with a campervan. There are signs at the beginning of this road that it is forbidden. Park your camper in one of the 2 campings 500 meter south on route 7. It's a 2,5 km walk to the beginning of the 3.5 km hike to the viewpoint. Very busy when we were there. Park closes at 16.30 h. You have to make a reservation online. Pay at the entrance (8400 pp).

Report Check-In

You have to have a reservation now. As the reservation system didn't work for us lots of times (form giving errors etc) we always went to Conaf parks without a reservation and that was always fine. They would write your name down and you would pay. Here however we were not welcome and were refused. There is no WiFi or coverage to reserve it on the spot, and they didn't want to do that for us either on their computers. so plan in advance if you want to visit this park:)

Report Check-In

You have to book on Welcu to have the right to enter and you pay in the park (after all the covid formalities and disinfection of your vehicle!).
The walk to the mirador isn't difficult, it goes up in the rainforest, but no steep part. Very nice view on the glacier Ventisquero Colgante.
There's also a small (and flat) trail to the laguna and you can also see the glacier from there.

Report Check-In

We enjoyed this walk, the route is in rainforest that reminded us of Colombia, but with 10% of the sweat! It took just over an hour to get up, and the same to come down. Parking is somewhat limited- we found spaces at 10am when we entered, but when we left after 1pm people were struggling. Not sure where the 8000 pesos goes, it's certainly not on the roads in the park, or the toilets...

Report Check-In

We didn’t go because the clouds were very low and the very nice guardaparque told us we wouldn’t see so well.
We mostly check in here just to say that he also told us that with our foreigner RUT we pay the national price.

Report Check-In

Think twice before driving a big rig into the park! The entrance road was very narrow (barely enough space for two small cars to pass) and many low hanging trees. We decided against going in, and had to back look out about 100m to the main road. Also, since ioverlander comments indicate that the campground is not big rig friendly, I wonder where we would have been able to park, let alone camp.

Report Check-In

Plenty people, had to wait solid 15 minutes to cross the bridge. Glacier view is nice. I would avoid going during Jan-Feb and choose instead another glacier further north or south. Park trail need urgent maitainance but you can't expect much from Conaf. Noisy.

Report Check-In

8.000 for foreigners to enter the park. Very few trails.

The main trail takes about 3 hours (return) for a view of the glacier, the second takes about 30 mins (return) for a view of the same glacier. There’s a couple of shorter trails we didn’t do, and that’s about it.

We went in the rain and the main trail is pretty well sheltered, but it was very muddy underfoot. There was plenty of rocks and logs to leap to and from so you could jump over the worst of the mud and puddles!

It was a fun day.

Report Check-In

It's 8000 pp for foreigners and 4000 for chilean. Park open from 8 to 5 only. Not allowed with animals. No friendly staff at all like everywhere on the Carretera austral.
The main hike is around 2h30 round trip.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

If you are coming from Alaska, this is a bit disapointing. I love hiking and wanted to stretch my legs, but 8000 was way too much for something not unique at all. Save your money.

Report Check-In

8000pp indeed. All trails are open now. Nothing more to say

Report Check-In

8000pp now...
main sendero is closed..
We didn't go

Report Check-In

Beautiful views of the hanging glacier and waterfalls! But not an easy thing to do after a lot of rain, the road had lots of pot holes in it and the hike was very muddy. The walk to the mirador took us about 3 hours roundtrip with a nice long break. Don’t miss this special place!

Report Check-In

amazing view!
the hardest part of the walk is during the 1st kilometer. after is more easy.
2h30 of walk (with short breaks + 20 min at the view point)
the road is very muddy after rain.
if you have a rut, even a temporary one is less expensive

Report Check-In

Great little walk. Well worth supporting the national parks for 5000 each. Don’t bother with the walk to the lake, just head up for the view of the glacier and the waterfall pouring out of it. Quite muddy and lots of big steps to start with, but with the effort. Took us about 2 hours there and back.

Pro-overlander fail. Showers were all locked so no freebies. :-(

Report Check-In

Gate is open from Monday to Sunday from 8:30 to 17:00

Report Check-In

Park entrance is 5,000 pp as of January 20, 2018. Camping spots fill up fast during high season. Try to arrive around 10 AM to be find a campsite.

Report Check-In

Even if there is not so much to hike in the park, we were very glad to visit it! The view of the glacier is beautiful. There is bathroom just before the beginning of the hike. We did the big one (2h30 up and down). When we were going down there was a lot of people going up, so I would advised you to go up early.

Report Check-In

Worth it. we saw already like 5 other glaciers around the world. but here you have a nice 2 hours return walk. And at the glacier are so many waterfalls. So just do it. You can also stay in a campground at the park.

Report Check-In

Just checking in to update coordinates.. We also hiked up to the Mirador.. gorgeous hike through the forest and great views of the hanging glacier

Report Check-In

For us it was worth it. You can see the glacier from the Lake or you go up to the Glacier Mirador. We did both.
And we have seen als a couple of Colibris as we went up. Beautifull Forest!

Report Check-In

Not worth the discriminatory price of 5000 CLP if you have seen glaciers before.

Report Check-In

Here you have to stop and pay for the park. Chilean adult 3000, Chilean child 1500, Foreigner adult 5000, foreigner child 2500
