Wild camping near the Walla Walla River. Flat gravel lot with picnic table. Away from the highway, just the sound of crickets.

I pulled in here two nights ago. I was in a 2023 Ford Transit. I’d just gone to bed when I got “the knock”. It’s not signed, but there is no overnight camping here. The two sheriffs deputies were very nice and directed me to the weigh station a few hundred feet away where I spent an uneventful night.
Report Check-InOvernight camping is NOT allowed. I’d just gone to bed when the sheriffs arrived. They were very nice, but I had to move. They suggested the weigh station that was a few hundred feet away which worked out.
Report Check-InThe easy pull through lot that you see on a satellite view of this place is not accurate. Rocks block a majority of the space available. There is a smaller lot just before this, but was a bit difficult to get out of with a TT in the dark. There seems to be a boat ramp further down the road, I did not go down. We stayed because there’s not much around, but the traffic was very loud and the train is basically non stop. No crickets were heard. Would stay again if desperate.
