Good place near Durango. Eduardo is very welcoming. Good taxi service to the historic center. Hot pools are great.

Report Check-In

Rainy day and RV area was too muddy. The first rig in our group got (mildly) stuck. So we dry camped in the parking lot for our two nights.
Big rig friendly.
Hot springs were sublime. Bathroom lacked TP but otherwise looked clean. Eduardo, our host, was friendly and very accomodating.
Family friendly with nice play structures for children.
Dog friendly also but one of our friends left a pair of shoes outside of his rig and a local dog ran off with it. It was later found on the vast grounds.
Nice resident ducks.
Beautiful park and great stay despite the lack of hookups for this visit.

Report Check-In

top top top

Report Check-In

Very welcoming and helpful owners, shuttle to town highly recommended (you get a lot of informations about Durango on the way). Unfortunately some barking dogs in the neighborhood (at night) and really a lot of dust when windy. Beside that, as posted in previous comments, nice place, we would stay again.

Report Check-In

Just as the others say. 400p first night and 240 second night. Access to the bath with Agua caliente was great when everybody has left. 6 spots for RV.

Report Check-In

Balneario San Juan and its associated Las Tortugas RV park is still amazing. As described previously, the hospitality is top notch and all the services are provided in addition to the hot pools that are so relaxing (and the cooler ones are fun!) Dog friendly, well maintained and an easy ride to downtown Durango, which is lovely. Transportation can be arranged by the park, as well as laundry. Highly recommend a stay here, we stayed twice as long as planned!

Report Check-In

We spent three days here. The first night costs 400p, each additional 200p. 8 different pools with thermal water, children's pool, water slide, very clean sanitary facilities, fast WiFi on the premises. Eduardo and his team are very friendly and helpful. Balneario San Juan is great fun for young and old. The RV Park has electricity and water for each pitch. Securitas is guarded at night and it is very quiet.

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed our stay. We arrived and were welcomed. The mineral water is available to RV in stay. We really enjoyed the comida dish of the day Chili Rellano, soup and dessert Made quite an impression. Wonderful to arrive and not have to cook and it was delivered to our site! It was quiet and the bathrooms were clean, cold showers.

Report Check-In

We stayed more than 3 months in the Balneario San Juan (november, december, 2022 january and february 2023). For us it is absolutly the best camping in the North of Mexico and we really recommend it.
1) the place is very nice, with access to the hot springs. You can see very nice sunrises and sunsets and a lot of birds. Sometimes one of the pools is empty because they are cleaning it. But you still have access to the other.
2) the camping is wide : you have a lot of space, The access from the main road is very easy with big rigs. It is perfectly plane. You have a dump, electricity, water and good internet You don't have any noise during the night, it is very peacefull.
3) the showers are cold, but the sanitaries are always super clean
4) in winter you don't have mosquitoes at all, only some wind
5) the staff is very very nice. We have found a family here. Santiago and his son are doing their best to make you feel good. After 3 months, the Balneario was like our second home
6) if you want to let your van in storage here : it is possible (75 dollars US/month) : it is very safe.
Conclusion : we really recommend this place !

Bref : nous recommandons +++

Price for motorhomes 400p the first/200p the following nights, laundry 80p/load, transport to town center and back 350p. Cash only. Open 09.00-18.00h, 365 days/year. Santiago, the owner, is a very helpful and considered host. Good and quiet place to stay a few days/nights and relax in the hot thermal pools. Recommended.

Report Check-In

If you’re coming in any sort of wet weather then bring plenty of mosquito repellent. At night time the air is thick with mosquitoes.

Report Check-In

great place! we stayed one night. 400 pesos for the RV, access to bathrooms, pools. electricity, water, sewage. very good service and we'll worth it. security guard 24h

Report Check-In

Awesome place and exactly as described in other reports. The staff here go way out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and well tended to!

The RV area now has functional electric and water stub outs, but no water yet. They’ve planted small palms around the perimeter so in a year or two there’ll be good shade. Open and exposed as it is now. Good for the solar panels!

Report Check-In

Awesome place. Charged 400 the first night. 200 the next night.

Report Check-In

As described. Still $350mx first night then $200 per night after that. They can fill water tanks, 120v power. Soon water hookups will be functional. Dump station available but use your own water there. Limited food in a small restaurant and store sells soda, beer, and chips. Beautiful pools. Friendly staff speaks some English. Many options for temperature of pools. A flock of snowy egrets in the morning. Pet friendly. Large play area away from pools and people for dog to run and fetch. Gate is always closed so they will let you in. See them in the store after entering through the walk in gate.

Report Check-In

Fantastic place to camp. So worth it to have the place to yourself after hours. Wifi and cell phone service were good (telcel and Google fi) although occasional lags in video calls. Great for everything else including streaming. Super helpful and kind family that lives here. They still offer laundry service and round trip transportation into downtown Durango for the prices listed in other comments. I camped for ten days with my pets and it was a wonderful experience. The food in their restaurant is also great. Open 9am-6pm daily. Week days are less crowded, busier on weekends especially Sundays. Highly recommend staying a little while if you can. Showers are still cold water only but if you go mid day it's not too chilly. I camped in my van as a solo female traveler and no issues at all, very secure.

Report Check-In

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We set up our tent on the grass at the far end of the park. They suggested we might want to move to a site closer to the internet after the day trippers leave. The weekend after Santa Semana was not busy. Not a cheap place to stay but worth it for the unlimited access to the pools after hours. Three thumbs up!

Report Check-In

This place is amazing! Such wonderful customer service. They are indeed OPEN! We stayed one night in our 30’ motorhome. Used the wifi, electricity and dump with no issues. Memories were made in the hot spring water park last night with our two kids, two dogs and us two adults. Thank you, staff!

Nice place for a few days with the kids. Cold & showers, wifi, lovely hot pools. Clean toilets. We spent 3 nights. First was p350 then p200 after that. Mosquitoa weee SAVAGE! Thousands from recent rains.

Report Check-In

We are back after a year and this place gets even better. Now toilet seats (bathroom/showers open 24h), he installed a strong WiFi Router and at the moment they are bringing in water and power (for light) at the camp area. Still Mx 350 for 1 night afterwards Mx 200. They also do laundry for Mx 70 a load and transportation to the historic center is Mx 250. The whole place is well maintained and you have also access to all pools after closing hours (6pm until 9am)

Report Check-In

We paid 350 pesos the first night and 250 the second we enjoyed the hot pools. Unfortunately all the pools with slides didn’t have water. Night guard all night and locked gate so safe

Report Check-In

Nice, clean and big balneario with two natural hot pools (99-104°F) and several cool pools with slides. Surprisingly there is nobody, even on a Sunday afternoon there were only 2 day visitors, so you have everything for yourself. Some birds around. First night was 300, following nights 200 Peso.

Report Check-In

Great place for some peace and quiet and a good soak. There was only one other couple camping, so it felt as if we had the entire place to ourselves. The young man managing the park spoke very good English and said they are making improvements for the future. Since this is low season, the pools are open but pumps for the water slides are not running.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot and just as described-hosts were very friendly and accommodating . They asked what could be done to make it even better ( they want more Overlanders ). We recommended a hot shower and toilet seats. Next day every toilet had a seat and the hot shower is coming soon !!!

Report Check-In

Best value camp ground we have found in Mex. 350p for three of us to camp overnight with full access to the pools. Second night would be 200, but sadly we have to head off. flat grass area with BBQs available. You can buy charcoal from the shop if needed. Great wifi right next to the RTT. Quiet as it is away from the highway and few dog noises. Secure with a 24hr guard. Well worth a visit for a few days. The pools are fun for the kids and adults alike. There are a few mozzies due to the thermal swamp lands, so bring bug spray

Report Check-In

The WiFi works pretty fast! Eduardo is a very nice and attentive guy and very helpful.

In the mean time enjoyed the hotspring pools and the relaxed atmosphere, specially on weekdays. We only can recommend this place that feels to us like paradise! Thanks for the great hospitality, to the whole Balneario team!

Report Check-In

Awesome pool with hot pools and nice staff, security at night, electricity, fast wifi,... All you need for a stay in Durango. Stayed two nights, would've stayed longer but we're on a schedule.

Report Check-In

A great place to stop if you want to visit Durango or driving through the 40. It was easy to find and the family who owns the water park is amazing! We woke up with a flat tire on our first morning and they gave us a hand & brought us to a tire repair in the little village next door. Eduardo speaks great English and will help you with anything you need! 350pesos the first night and 200 for the following. The hot pools are always accessible!

Report Check-In

Super quirky spot with lovely warm pools for soaking. Marco, the owner, is very soft spoken and kind - he brought us coffee the morning after our stay! It got VERY cold camping at night (high desert) but great plush grass for setting up a tent. There was a tienda at the water park but no restaurant to be seen.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Very nice, on top they will give us a ride to Durango Centro for a fee and they will pick us up for the return. Very nice guy. We had the pool to ourself. Michel

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights after the long drive from Guachochi and Sinfarosa canyon. Superb hosts, and provided ride into Durango centro with retrieve for 150p. Perfect place for proximity to downtown. Gave us a nice tour on the way back, too. 350p first night, 200p the second. Nice hot pool for soaking at night.

Report Check-In

We are travelling in a 39f motorhome, pulling a car behind from Quebec Canada to Nayarit Mexico, and we are on our way back North. We were looking for a comfortable and quiet stop between Mazatlan and Saltillo. We previously had stopped in a hotel in Durango, no services for 300pesos per night. We found this place and decided to stay 3 nights instead of our usual overnight. Like previous comments, 300pesos 1st night, 200 additional ones. We had access to all the pools 24/24. We spoke to Santiago and his son Eduardo, who speaks good english. For now they only can provide 15amps, no sewer, and they filled our fresh water tank with a hose when we asked.
Overall, the installations are clean. Eduardo asked us our input since they plan on building a 3 or more spots for big rigs in a near future. The entrance is difficult to get in, we had to do it inch by inch. That should be better when we come back in November.
We now can consider visiting Durango, not only fly by it.

Report Check-In

Eduardo is a young men and he is the son of the owner of this beautiful agua park

Report Check-In

Mexican public swimming pool with 2 big hot pools, 1 smaller lukewarm pool and the rest cold ones, some for kids with slides. All of them clean, so are the bathrooms (cold showers only).
For 350 Pesos (non negotiable) we stayed for a night and could use all the facilities. We had the place to ourselves after 6:30pm when they closed (except the night guard on duty)
Very friendly manager / care taker!!

Report Check-In

The balneario is open but they close the gates at 6 pm. You have to be here before, than you will have everything for your own. We have got a very warm welcome and paid 350 MXN for the first night. The temperatur of the "muy caliente" pool is like Liard Hot Springs! Durango is a nice town to visite!

Report Check-In

The place is open. We were here some days. But the park closes at 6 pm. It is nobody there after this time. We think it is not a problem to spend a night at the parking lot in front of the park if it is closed.
The owners and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The area is really nice. We paid 350 Pesos for the first night and 200 Pesos for the second night.

Report Check-In

We arrived close to dark, and the gate was locked and everything looked dark and closed up.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately this place was closed tonight with no indication of why or for how long. It was getting dark and we drove into the little village and camped in front of the quiet little church without problems.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot near Durango. We stayed a couple of nights. Nobody around at night. Toño, the owner is a nice guy. He charged us 300 and 200 additional night. Clean and tidy. Worth the stop. This time of year make sure you have bug killer and repellent. Otherwise excellent place.
