Presidio | Informal Campsite

I was camping here a bunch. the last time i was here the park police made me move ant told me that there is absolutely no overnight camping in the Presidio, I think it means get be fine 73 percent of the time. Moved to the Marina Safeway parking lot which was horrible!!😱

Spent one night here, was thanksgiving weekend so parking lot was empty other then one other van which I see in the above photos so maybe is left there all the time? I only spent one night here and then moved more into city

keep it quite as apartments all arround.

The place is very quiet compared to other parking in the area. As mentioned in the other reviews we go there to sleep only. Do not go back and forth outside your van. Do not cook by. Arrive for the dodo and leave early in the morning before 8:00. The police station is next door so be ready to be kick out if you abuse.

Stayed here 2 nights in a mini van. All smooth, quiet night.

Stayed 2 nights. Arrived at 10pm, left at 7.30am. No problems. As mentioned keep low profile. First night was very quiet. Second night we heard ship horns all Night. Daytime we moved to crissy beach east which has free parking from 6am to 12pm., restrooms, cold showers, and picnic tables

Stayed here 2 nights. Overall pretty good but definitely try and remain quiet and stay in your van as there are police and apartments right next door.

Both nights we stayed were pretty loud and we were woken up by cars blasting music/a motorcycle ripping around for a while in the middle of the night. We generally can sleep through loud noises but we were both woken up each night, though most users talk about it being quiet so maybe we were just unlucky.

After 2 nights we moved to Bay Street and enjoyed it more.

We stopped to sleep at this location and were informed by the local police that it was banned overnight at this location!

stay not exactly here but another parking lot just after freeway exit.(no camper parked at the locatiob during the days). Another 2 RV parked. One looks like long time resident.Another is from Europe. He said it seemed to be safe. No problem but noise from the freeway all the night.

spend now 3 nights here. Slept each morning til 7:30am and moved then to Marina for breakfast and visit the city. nobody cares about me. perfect- thanks for sharing.
please respect the residents!

public parking, perfect for the night. We slept here more than a week, for free at night. Safe and quiet. During the day, you must pay 9 dolars for parking or move to Marina, that's free during the day

Stayed here for the night. Get ready beforehand, and be careful just to get here and go straight to sleep - no moving around in the van/car. Quiet spot, felt very safe here.

PLEASE NOTE — RESPECT this place.

It’s not an RV park.

•DON’T cook or hang out in the parking lot.
•Be stealthy so that the residents in the apartment complex won’t see you in your RV.
• (Come in late 8:30 - 9:00 leave early 6:30 - 7:00)
•DON’T dump food, grey water or trash in the lot.

We have observed other campers doing all of the above. You’ll burn this spot for everyone if you continue to abuse it. It’s just a matter of time before they shut it down.

Great overnight place for car or van. Free wifi. We kept low profile, as there is a residence in front of the parking. We stayed there 4 nights without any issues. Arrived around 9pm, left at 7am.

Good spot to spent the night. You can head over to Crissy Field in the morning which has a restroom, outdoor shower and a dog shower!

awesome place. stayed here for two nights know with an 24ft motorhome. We park at the free parking on the marina and come here at 8 pm and leave at 7 am. Free and super close to the city.

Stayed here three nights while visiting San Francisco. No problems. We were in by 9 pm and out by 6am every day. Very quiet. Only complaint is that it’s hard to find level spots.

This is quiet spot stayed here multiple times. Keep lights down as there is a cop station right next doors with cop cars driving around. There is a large delivery truck you can park behind to get some concealment

Parking gratuit la nuit de 18 h PM à 8 h AM sinon payant le jour. 8 € la journée de 8 h AM à 18 h PM ou 1.50 € l'heure. Il y a des bâtiments tout autour et du va et vient. Bon plan pour SF.
