WARNING - we tried to wildcamp here yeaterday. While leveling the car two guys under drugs apperaed from the NOWHERE. Intensions were clear, so we jumped into car and raced off. Be super careful in this area beside the road from the pass. YPF or spot in the village are better options.

good spot for cyclists, quite protected from the wind. the floor is so hard and it is difficult to pitch the tent but it is not impossible :) very loud noise from the river. the sky at night is amazing!

Beautiful place next to the river. Very peaceful and quiet. You can't hear the noise from the road, just the river next to you. And you can't be seen from the road either. Perfect for one night. No cell phone signal.

Spent a quiet night here. In the morning, several tourist buses arrived to check out the old bridge, but they all left after a few minutes. The place is not visible from the main road, offers some wind protection, is right next to a river and the night sky is simply amazing as there is no light pollution.

The river is called Río Pitcheuta, coming from Chile follow a very discrète sign saying "Puente Pitchueuta". The small itself is not in Google maps.
Quiet indeed, relaxing.
(I just spent 10 hours getting through the border...)
No cell reception whatsoever.

Encore un beau bivouac ici sur le bord d'une petite rivière. ok avec un camping car de 7,50 m. Petite entrée de chemin sur la droite après le pont. Bel endroit pour planter une tente...
