Arrived but bicycle late and the friendly owner allocated me a spot for my tent. I didn’t make any of facilities other then the water tap. Went for coffee to the main building: nice cozy atmosphere with stunning view. Paid 7000 pesos. Not the most sophisticated camping, but all by all recommend because of the atmosphere.

We snuck in at night after arriving from the ferry at around 2am. Owner was fine with us just paying the following morning. Sites were a bit damp and no hot water. Quincho/cafe area is pleasant, the overall feeling of the place was a bit run down.

This was for sure a paradise in the jungle. But unfortunately, it is a bit worn down now. There is only one covered tent space which is okay and the cafe was closed when we were there. Toielet and shower are working and clean, altough only cold water. 5000pp

Went to check this place out. We loved the vibe and location, but it doesn't look like there is anywhere to camp in your car/van/camper- just some covered tent spots and a shared hostal. There was a parking area that could hold 4-5 cars, but it wasn't flat. There wasn't anyone around for us to ask or confirm the car camping situation (maybe they were out on a tour?), so we kept on moving. Cool, rustic spot if you're tent camping or looking for a bed.

At the end of the road a little cafe with amazing hot chocolate, ocean views, trails, rent kayak, hostel and camping run for a nice family farm. Robert the owner is such a great host. Totally recommend if you want to stay in a quite place sorounded by nature!

I can’t possibly say enough good things about Roberto and his hand built jungle refuge. He’s such an interesting host and always willing to go out of his way to show you the beauty his home and the Patagonian surrounds. We explored Sea Lion colonies with him (30,000pp) as well as a megellic penguin island on a full day of paddling the fjords and islands. He has cozy dorms, rustic tent spots both with shelter and without, as well as a retired engine room for his hand made waterwheel used to produce electricity before power lines were run 20/30years ago. Check this place out as any price is fair in his company!

Report Check-In

Not quite as previously described, a little shabby but location is great. There’s no WiFi here as suggested and only one toilet with a seat (plus one without) for around 20 people. Pitches vary considerably from fully covered with tables to makeshift sites without. At 16,000 pesos for 2 people I thought it was overpriced. But good community in the cafe and has an excellent doggo.

Unfortunately the place is closed until January 22nd 2019 due to maintenance.

Very nice Eco Camping, especially with a tent. Up to 2 vans possible, not perfectly even though. Slightly warm shower in the afternoon. Robert is incredibly nice, we had fires at the Fogon every night. Perfect spot for discover the surroundings of Hornopiren, also close to the ferries. 8000 clp pppn. Worth it.

Report Check-In

Robert is a very friendly host and showed us around his interesting vegetable garden. The kitchen is nicely equipped and the entire common area/cafe offers stunning views to the fjord. Sometimes you can observe dolphins from here. Kajak renting is expensive 10,000 p/p for an hour, 25,000 for 4h and 80,000 for 2 days. Pitty. The camp sites for the tent, benches, tables and the bathrooms would definitely benefit from more tender, love and care. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay.

nice place, 8.000 pesos pp (incl senderos,...) in a tent, vans are possible now. the spot where we had our tent was covered and we had our own table. the kitchen and the common area are nice and cosy and include an indoor firepit.
you can also just do the senderos (3.000) or stop for a cho of real coffee (2.000)

just be careful what you leave outside, one of the dogs likes to chew on shoes and plastic bottles

This is so far our FAVORITE place in Patagonia !! Roberto is just the best host and he made absolutely everything for us to have a great time here. He took us to the termas (at night!!) and a tour with his car around the city during the rainy day. We cooked a lot together and spent 3 fantastic nights there. His cafe has also the best view you can possibly find in town. Highly recommended!

You expect just a camping and at the end it's an amazing experience in a place just incredible. Roberto has built everything during 30 years and took so much time to tell us stories and show us all the beautiful spots around Hornopiren, he knows everybody (and also bring us to a woman who makes vegan cakes !)

There is a coffee on sea side, it's more or less the basecamp of everything for everyone in the camping (backpackers and bike friendly). You can take beer, coffee, mate or a piece of cake around the fire in the middle of the room. On evening we could use the kitchen to make dinner for everyone.

Our tent was on a spot with a roof built by Roberto, with a huge wood table and benches. You feel just at the perfect place whatever the weather can be.

You can rent a kayak and go to a pinguin island, or rent a bike, go for a hike on a path created by Roberto himself with machete to go at top of the summit right here and have a look on the bay. Anyway we went here for a night and spent 3 days.

For sure i'll come back there !

not really a campsite but an adventure Lodge with place for 1 (maybe 2) tents. very friendly owner. Hut with place for large groups, fire, cake and whine. beautiful view of the bay. tiny trails. basic toilet and shower (hot when he makes fire). kayaking possible. camping 8000 p.p.

Nice eco park and camping, 3 routes to walk in virgin ancient woods. Cafe with kuchen at the end of the paths.

This is one of our favorite spots in Chile. We happened across it by chance in November 2016 and returned twice more, leaving the final time on Jan. 1,2017. Robert is a great guy, very excited to share info on all the places to explore in the area. 5000 CLP per person for tent camping. Not a great spot for rigs but its possible to park along the private road, we did.
He offers bike rental and guided or non guided kayak outfitting. If you are there on the right day, he may make you seafood or asado on the fogon in the cafe. Great place to learn about the ora, fauna, geology and history of the area. Don't have enough space to explain our love for El Cobre!

Report Check-In

Backpackers and tent camping only. There is no space for cars, vans or trucks. Owner told us to go to Bosque nativo on the other side of the town.
