Something not right?

Description

The place is pretty nice and I was able to camp on the second parking lot from the bottom. I messaged them in advance to ask if I could camp and they said yes. I payed 15,000COP, but keep in mind you will have to either cook your own food that you bring or buy from the hostels restaurant. The hostels restaurant is a bit pricey. The road up is in bad shape. I would say 4x4 is necessary but I guess 2WD with good clearance could make it. Killed one of the shocks on my defender, luckily some of the workers there helped me to weld a temporary fix.

so 4x4 is necessary in rain. the rain comes and goes, there is no real forecast. high clearance also, we have a 4runner and in mud one section was a bit problematic. not really wort it in my opinion.

They told us camping wasn’t allowed so we booked a dorm. When we got there they told us we couldn’t even park on the flat bit right by reception but we didn’t want to leave it on the steep parking outside the entrance where no one could see it so we begged them to let us park it by reception and eventually they said fine. The views are AMAZING but this place definitely seems like it’s seen better days! We were put in the finca two minutes walk up the hill and there was no power for two days before they let us move down to the main hostel. Showers are freezing and dorms are fairly basic, no nice touches or decorations everywhere. Also lots of things they advertise haven’t been maintained and are unusable, like the high ropes course and the mountain bike trails. I think it’s changed owners. Good things though: there are quite a few of the giant hammocks so it’s not like a constant queue to get on one, the food was surprisingly good as was the bar and cocktails. Unless you’re staying in the finca you’d better be up for a party though cos the music is very loud until late even if hardly anyone is in the bar. Also we drove up in rainy season - 4x4 definitely required, half the road was washed away! Our dog was allowed, but there are tons of dogs living at the hostel - I think a couple are pets and the rest are street dogs they allow in the hostel. They barked all night and I got bitten by one of them and was told he hadn’t had a rabies vaccine. Another girl I met was bitten by a different dog here.

it's some sort of party hostel. same experience like elsewhere. they have some good views and a big "hammock" where everyone comes to take an Instagram picture.

We went with our van (ford econoline, not 4x4)up to there without problem, but is dry season, if not its necesary 4x4.
The place is very nice, great views with swiming pool, showers, pool table.
We paid 10.000 COL to stay one night.

Wow!!
Such a nice place, didn’t expected that it’s so nice.
Without 4x4 not possible to reach this place. It rained yesterday so mud about half meter. Tooks 1,5 h today to get there from Minca. I didn’t know if it was possible to camp in the parking area, so I’m just lucky! I can use everything and sleep in the car (even flat!) for just the normal visitor entrance fee of 10k COP.
More younger people but highly recommend to come here at least for a night.
Pool, Shower, TV with live sports, giant hammocks, and the prices are fair: beer 4.5 to 5.5k and meal 15 to 20k.

Casa Elemento is just a place full a young backpackper, drinking, listening loud music and chilling.
Not the kind of place we are looking for.... it's 10.000p for a day entrance. Even the view is not that amazing, we have seen way better during this year in South America.
35 min driving from minca by moto.

Perfect place for relax. spektacular view. 20.000 COP car and one person. 9 km street only by 4x4. not big mobil. You need 1 h for this 9 km. max. 3 cars.

Camping is not allowed. We got there as sun set and were told that we could pay 40,000 COP per person for a dorm bed. That being said it's totally worth it. 4x4 is necessary! It takes about 1.5 hours if you are being careful driving from Minca. We stayed at the Finca above the actual Casa Elemento. We woke up to some colorful birds pecking at our window. The Finca had its own giant hammock and more private.
