Guatemala

Nice spot at the river for swimming if you like it. Strong current in the middle.
The Dueña wanted 50qz per vehicle including using ducha and baños cross the road at the neighbours place.
As we wanted to use those they where locked and she couldnt remember to allow it...We tried to check with the neighbour and she laughed behind us, well, that was our impression we got...
The offered pit toilet was dirty snd full of flies. And also no shower.
Wherever tourists turn up, people seem to get greedy.
Just make sure you get what you pay for.
The road is under construction. We arrived at 16.00 at the beginning of the road and were not let through. We stayed at the big carpark cross the fuel station before you reach Lanquin, which was ok for one night. Also 50 qz with ducha, water and baños and security.
Report Check-InPaid 40 per night for four persons in two cars after negotiations and some kind of staring contest.
The owner seemed rather grumpy and unfriendly, his family was nice and welcoming though.
All through the day there were locals coming by to offer us beer and chocolate to buy.
From early morning to late evening there were pickup trucks full of people coming and going to fill backs of sand down at the river and load them into the truck right next to us, stopping for frequent noisy beer brakes.
At night there were a lot of dogs barking and if a car comes by on the road it is really noisy.
All in all this place is not too nice, not secluded and noisy.
If you are ok with that, it is a convenient place to stay close to the park and almost at the river.
Flat area for vehicles. paid 30q for a RTT and a ground tent together. Four people and a dog! Augustine was a very nice gentleman, he was the one we talked to about staying. he has a few other family members who live there as well. River below close by to swim in. Park only three min walk up the road. bathrooms are 2Q to use their pit toilets. while we were there one drunk man got into a violent disagreement towards his wife an child, Augustine came out and put a stop to it but it was the reason why we didnt spend 2 nights. otherwise it was very lovely!
Report Check-InAwesome spot. This has to be the nicest place to park-up in Semuc Champey. Right on the river. Great little river-beach for swimming. Loved it here. Paid 30Q for truck & 2 people. There is plenty of space for big rigs, but due to the bridge construction angle, very big rigs might have difficulty turning onto the bridge to get over the river.
Report Check-InAccording to the sign this place is called Parqueo. The GPS location is correct. There's plenty of room for big rigs and the bridge supports 15000 lbs. Caution in regards to the road, there are several very steep sections. Next time I think I would park in San Agustin Lanquin and take the bus. Domi and his family and really nice. They have a pit toilet and all the river water you want. We paid 30 Q per night.
Report Check-InFamily operated parqueo particular. The owner, Domingo run the operation with the son (Domingo) that is also a guide for the area, the place is very nice, flat, grassy, on the river, they now have toilet and they are building a restaurant and some house for accommodation, we pay 30 qz for truck camper and 2 person ( he was asking 40 but we agree 30 with the son before he came..) is nice to speak Spanish and have the the son translating in Mayan language your questions to the father. They have also a spring for drinking water. Highly recommended.
Report Check-InWe stayed there for three nights and paid 20Q per night for our van. Easy access to go swim in the river. There are pit toilets. Family who owns the property is friendly. Nice spot.
Report Check-InVery frienly people around. You never alon. no toilet no shower but nice river with beach. look where you stay about the small walking path...
We like it very much.
