At edge of paved parking lot follow dirt road for approximately 1 mile to several sites suitable to off-road vehicle parking. At end of road is a large circular turnaround suitable for vehicle camping. There is no signage restricting use. Spent one night. Some high winds. Great views of Star Wars Canyon and Death Valley.

Very nice spot to spend the night, we stayed at the first pull out down the dirt road. The road seems rough but is very doable with medium clearance. In the morning we saw regular cars drive the road to the view point at the end. The vista point also overlooks one of the canyons that is used by the airforce to do fighter jet low altitude training. So if you're lucky you can spot them during the day! Very cool!

Awesome view point and great place to stay. You can drive down the dirt road mabie 3-4 miles and there is an amazing view. We planned on staying a mile in at one of the various pullouts but it got really windy and started raining just as we went to bed... got worried it might rain all night and make the road difficult to go up so spent the night in the parking lot.

Report Check-In

We stayed on the parking lot. The dirt road seemed a little too bumpy for our Honda Odyssey. But we saw a car and a motorbike coming back from the dirt road in the morning.
Very quiet. Nice view.

If you take the track leading from the backside of the parking closer to the valley to another viewpoint you'll find even better spots. The track is a bit bumpy, but there is no need for 4wd or clearance. The view at the end of the track is awesome. We stayed there for 2 nights.
