Description
Good spots with great vista of the valley on the trail to cottonwood canyon about 15 minutes from the canyon entrance. Quiet and secluded. Dispersed camping is only allowed after 8 miles past the start of the trail.

The washboard road is rough but doable for our 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 FWD. If the squishy sand parts were longer or if we had to have stopped in them, they’d have been a little rough to pull out of. We got as far as 7.8 miles in and stopped at the big, flat pullout to the right, just before the big washout. Plenty of space, brilliant night sky. We need to help our fellow campers learn how to use shovels for poopin’ though! Be careful out here for that reason!
