Something not right?

Description

Wild free camping near the beach. There are some permanent snowbirds. Some of them are very unfriendly. The beach is not the best, a lot of rocks in the water. Very windy but nice for kitesurfing. Not quiet or peaceful at all. Lots of quad traffic.

Need a 4x4 to not get stuck. Sand roads look solid near turnoff, but deteriorate quickly as you get close to beach.

I have never felt more unwelcomed in my own country as I did here. As a Mexican, I'm appalled by how the gringo snowbirds think they own this beach. My husband and I got in late tonight and were snootily warned by three different people to not park there over x,y,z reason. We felt not only unwelcomed but also unsafe given the tone. There's clearly a community of non-Mexican squatters looking out to protect this area from campers who don't belong. We ended up leaving and going to the paying camp next door to avoid conflict. Shame on these people thinking they own land that doesn't belong to them.

We didn't have any issues with the seasonal campers. Everyone we talked to was nice. But it is a bit different with the seasonal setups with built tents and what not around the campers. Not as nice as a standard boondocking spot. we did get stuck (20,000 pound fifth wheel with 10,000 pound truck) but only because we got off the main road. Felt hard but we are just to heavy and broke the crust. Had a local with a backhoe pull us out. lighter rigs would be fine.

Rocky piece of sand full of unfriendly and unwelcoming people. Tons of quad traffic and barking dogs. Wind and rocky beach with poor access to the water. Not peaceful at all. The cell service here is spotty, so I wouldn't stay here if you need to work. It's a long way from town and you'll get stuck if you don't have 4x4. No big rigs for sure; we got stuck in our little van!

lots of campers, some are not friendly (behave the place belongs to them, while always on the same place since years, you disturb), very windy, lots of Surfers, huge beach, cell connection, easy way for all kinds of campers, nice Restaurants los amigos (with free wifi) near the RV Camp

Lots of rigs here but doesn’t feel crowded. The beach is long, plenty of room to stretch out.

Been there on feet to see definitely need a 4x4 to access the beach

Great beach for kiteboarding. Lots of short term and long term campers but not overcrowded. Careful if you go off the trails on the beach, we got stuck twice and had to dig our 43' class A out. Locals said it was easy to hire a tractor from town to pull you out if needed. There are many criss crossing trails that are good hard pack.

Cell service was good. No other services.

Lots of food and rental activities in the nearby town.

Beautiful waterfall up the next wash south. Need 4 wheel drive to reach waterfall.

We almost got stuck with our 2wd class b. A long-term « resident » told us where to park, away from the beach. Walking first and asking is not a bad idea.
Cows walking around.

Not a problem for access, just don’t drive all the way to the beach.
We drove F350 and truck camper.
Turn at the road across from the colourful house and then there are a few different paths to follow with spots along them.
We stayed two nights and had LOTS of wind.
Walk to town is long but we did it there and back.
Beach is rocky but there are bars close just down the beach.

best places are taken in winter season, but still some good spots to find along the couple of roads going up to the beach. as long as you don't ride onto the beach any car will do.
plenty of bushes to give a little privacy, only traffic is from fellow campers.

Ok spot to boondock for a night. It’s pretty much just a dry wash on the beach filled with gringos in their RV’s and ATV’s. They really take the piss these snowbirds- setting up something akin to a refugee camp in someone else’s country! We’ve seen this all over Baja with their flash rigs and quad bikes and most of the time they are grumpy old rude people. At this site(like many others) they’ve even set up semi-permanent palapa like lean-tos attached to their RV’s!

-Rant over- haha

Very nice place to boondock. A bit sandy, but the sand is not soft and pretty easy to drive on. We had a bit of a challenge to determine where the place was, because in summer nobody is here. Some explanation here for you as a first time visitor: It's a huge area; 20 ha / 50 acr. The complete area where you can camp is situated between the bitumen road and the coast, neighbouring the RV park playa norte on one side and the next house to the other. There is more then one entrance. We stayed for three nights. Even the weekend no visitors, no music, quiet. Bushes, but not trees or whatever for shade. Make your own shade.

Nice place. Few snowbirds. Good 3G signal. With extender you can use wifi from neighboring campground. Once a week they come by with Water.

Its a decent place to wildcamp. Lots of bushes just before sandy beach and everyone will find some alone time if desired. Its like a little camper village. Lots of gringos live here for the kitesurfing season. Good community vibe.
