A few sites near the beginning of the dirt road. Most with fire rings. Highway is a few miles across so a bit noisy but it dies down between sunset and sunrise. In range of LTE cell service.

Big area for plenty of rigs just seconds from Joshua Tree South Entrance. There's quite a bit of trash. Clean up after yourself, please.
Report Check-InLike this side better than turning right, better view of mountain
Report Check-InLots of space, lots of dead wood for fires. Highway noise is minimal. GPS coordinates ended a few miles before NP turnoff.
Report Check-InGreat spot! Some highway noise but not too bad. We had to drive a ways down the dirt road to get away from the crowds but there are plenty of spots. Beautiful sunset!
Report Check-InLoads of RVs closer to Cottonwood Rd but here is the extremity. This place could take huge numbers of people without feeling crowded. It’s on a slightly tilted plain so I couldn’t find anything completely level but just a few blocks are needed if being very slightly off isn’t good enough.
Report Check-InGreat desert camping just outside of the park.
Be careful for soft sand, we got totally stuck trying to get out. Our neighbors a few hundred feet away had a 4x4 Bronco with locking differential and we paid him to help us out. Fortunately he had boards to help us inch our way out after we got unstuck.
T-Mobile had decent signal but Verizon was basically nil.
Report Check-InDirt road right outside the entrance to Joshua Tree NP with lots of camp spots and pull outs for larger rigs. The further west you drive, the more dispersed it is. My spot was far enough from the 10 that I didn’t hear road noise. Quiet, dark skies at night, and beautiful sunrises/sunsets. 2-3 bars of AT&T LTE service the whole time
Report Check-InThis is a great spot. There are plenty of places to camp all up this road and the road to the right. Pick a spot and enjoy the sunsets! Gas 10 minute drive and cottonwood springs entrance about the same.
Report Check-InNice sites around. With north wind not to noisy from the interstate, more from aircraft.
Report Check-Ingreat spot. very quiet and flatish. There are spots to park in all along this road so you don't have to travel as far as this marker
Report Check-InAmazing free camping on BLM land. No facilities at all. There are many sites with rock fire rings. Lots of RVs near the main road into the park, but if you travel down the second dirt road on your left after getting off of highway I10 you will find excellent spots with no neighbors. Nicely graded dirt/gravel road that any rig can maneuver on. Quiet, private, and amazing views of the mountains. Gorgeous, unobstructed sunrises and sunsets.
Report Check-Ingreat location near the South entrance, beautiful flower bloom in February and
March
Fantastic bookdocking location right before the entrance to Joshua Tree. Lots of spots to choose from and some have fire pits. You can barely hear the highway. One of the best free spots we have been at yet!
Report Check-InLarge area with lots of campers. But still enough space for a quite night
Report Check-InWonderful boondocking spot. There are fire pits, but it was too hot today for us to want a fire.
We’ll post pics and/or vids on our blog leave.today
