Something not right?

Description

There was no wind and the sand flies were in full assault mode, so we retreated and ended up at Los Cocos trailer park.

Don’t go there!!! Nice beach but a lot of sand flies! It’s terrible!! Doesn’t worth it!!

Stayed here 1 night at the end of the road, just a little further passed this GPS location, for more privacy. Our campfire kept the sandflies away for the night but they were unbearable in the morning so we made a quick escape. Other than that, it was a good, fairly quiet spot, felt safe. Telcel connection was fine. Easily accessible in our 2WD van.

Nice and quiet spot by the beach, with hard sand (2wd is fine). But as previously said, with tons of sandflies. Good luck !

Good for one night. Normally not so bothered by bugs and flies but Sandflies are insane!!!

Report Check-In

Beach camping at the big San Blas Playa. Easy access to this point on a sandy road beyond the restaurants. You could follow the beach a couple of miles southeast but 4WD is necessary to go through the sand. Quiet. No hazzles. Sounds good, BUT the sandflies come out at sunset when the breeze settles down and they will squeeze through your mosquito net easily.

We are here for 2 nights with a 24ft RV, not in the weekend. The spot is really quiet, you can listen the waves at night. The inconvenient is that there are a lot of mosquitos...

so many mosquitos. bring spray, net and a back scratcher. no waves unfortunately when we where there.

Good camp spot right on the beach but the sand flies are terrible. Too bad since the town is chill, little market at night, good vibe but the sand flies ruin it all... really !

Report Check-In

As described, beach access past the restaurants. One restaurant owner said we could use his restroom, and park close to his restaurant. He did not charge us. We had no sand flea issues due to a slight breeze and little time spent outside. San Blas square is very nice, great food in town as well. In the morning head to Matanchén for amazing "banana bread" more like banana bread pudding.

Report Check-In

Flat sandy area at the end of the Playa del Borrego past all the restaurants. Pray that it is windy, the sand flies are nasty.
