Description

A nice place, friendly people and you can camp here for free (at the entrance/guarda parque, next to the tiny museum). The toilets are not clean though.
There are some small walks you can do, 1 is about how people lived in this dry area (you can see some huts and tools, interesting). There is also a further walk to the sanddunes.
Potable water is in front of the guara parque at the fence.

Nice place to stay for a night. Rangers are really nice, bathrooms quite basic but clean.
the sunset over the sand dunes (2 kms further, you can go there by car or walk) is amazing!

We didn't stay as we arrived to early. We did stop in the shade....got swarmed by hungry mosquitos. We cycled off pronto.

We were here one night, and it's really quite. The parking is next to the road, and you listen few trucks at night. Really surralist desert in the middle of nothing. Good place to stay a night...

Indeed very nice to stay overnite. When we were there it was very very hot, we did not do one of the tracks ....

Great place. The park guide is very friendly and helpful. Can hear the noise from the street but is okay when sleeping in a car. However, keep in mind there are A LOT of bugs. Especially spring-summer time and the evening is the worst. Park somewhere away from bushes and trees, and dont forget your mosquito net. It gets super hot during spring already and it is almost impossible to sleep in the car if you cant roll any windows down. Learnt it the hard way. Toilets are ok. Not super clean, and again, lots of bugs. But has running water, so will do. Otherwise a great place to stay, have a lunch or walk in the park.

Great place to stay overnight. Close to the road, so you hear the passing traffic. But free!! (Donate something for the ranger station)

Stayed 2 night. Friendly guardaparque. Very large. Starving dog we felt very sorry but we have only vegetables. no wind and a few rains, We completed a few treks very recommend this place sorry for the English

There is no height restriction on the southern entrance, and it’s straight-in access. Plenty of room for big rigs.
Yes, friendly folks and good trails up to 9 km. Absolutely no cell connection or internet, but totally quiet at night; well, aside from the sparsely traveled road. Good place to be if you want to avoid the weekend racket.

We enjoyed staying here. The rangers are very friendly and helpful. The camping area also provides firepits for BBQ. Three hiking possibilities between 5 and 9 km. We can recommend the 6 km hike. Although the landscape doesn't look very interesting, the museum and the interpretative trails explain very well why this area needs to be protected. Hight restriction 3 m. Definetly a nice stopover.

We confirm, it's a very nice and quite place, friendly Parque Guardian and a very pretty semi arid landscape. The road from Mendoza to herein very good, hardly any traffic.
