Lugar incrivelmente maravilhoso, pé na areia! Entrada privada para pela praia … muita sombra, redes de balanço! Tem energia, Wi-Fi, banho quente e cozinha de frente ao mar. Fica 15 min do centro caminhando. Ou pode pegar um táxi diretamente aqui do camping U$ 1,50 , para mercado etc… Ecuador é muito barato para comer…pratos aqui no centro com sopa de entrada, prato principal + suco por U$ 3…local muito seguro! Contactar Charlie sobre preços pois depende da quantidade de dias que vai ficar

I didn't think it was a good way to park my camper. parking outside, tall grass, no shade. The person at the place even had the courage to charge me US$15.00. I headed to Balsa Surf Camp and stayed there.

Lovely spot with a bar, access to the beach, hammocks, wifi, toilet and HOT shower - Charlie gave us a key. You park outside.

Hostel and camping, we pay 5 dollars per person, we take an extra value for energy, negotiated with the owner to use the air conditioning. clean bathroom, has a washing machine that you can use free of charge, restaurant/bar on site. Everything is very well taken care of and the owners are very kind. if you want to take a surf lesson or rent a board, you can too.

Pousada e camping, pagamos 5 dolares por pessoa, cobramos um valor extra pela energia, negociado com o proprietário para uso do ar condicionado. banheiro limpo, tem uma máquina de lavar que você pode usar gratuitamente, restaurante/bar no local. Tudo muito bem cuidado e os donos são muito gentis. se você quiser fazer uma aula de surf ou alugar uma prancha, também pode.

Ficamos uma noite e fomos recebidos por Dario, tivemos um local agradável no interior do Hostel , não tão bom no estacionamento. Wi-Fi boa, segurança ótima, 700 metros do centrinho de Montañita. Não conseguimos abastecer de água. faltou. É melhor levar repelente.

Viemos para ficar dois dias e ficamos uma semana. O lugar possui água, banheiro, energia elétrica e cozinha. Simples, mas completo. Os donos Charlie e Dario são muito amáveis e dispostos a ajudar. Silencioso, tranquilo, pé na areia e próximo do centro (menos de 10min de caminhada). Quem ficar mais de 3 noites pode conseguir desconto na diária, pagamos US$5 para usar as instalações e dormirmos em casa.

We came to stay two days and stayed a week. The place has water, bathroom, electricity and kitchen. Simple, but complete. Owners Charlie and Darius are very kind and willing to help. Quiet, quiet, walk on the sand and close to the center (less than 10min walk). Those staying more than 3 nights can get a discount on the rate, we pay $5 to use the facilities and sleep at home.

Very kind people! We stayed here for one night for 5$/pp. The place where you can park is not the most beautiful in the world, but the front yard, where you can hang around, is very nice.
We rented a surfboard incl. teacher for 10$/pp for a afternoon. Also close to the town center with a short beach walk.

Great quiet spot just outside Montanita, at the beach with an easy five minute walk into town. Charlie, the owner, is very friendly and loves having overlanders. Clean bathroom with toilet seat and cold shower. Big inside common area with WiFi. Restaurant onsite with cold beer. Free surf lessons with boogie boards and surf boards onsite. There is also a sand volleyball court. We ran out of propane and Charlie let us use his kitchen no problem. He has a dog that is friendly with people but not animals. The dog stays in the house, so any pets brought here must stay outside. We highly recommend this spot!

Reviews are accurate! Best place in Montañita. Camps are limited and Charlie is very helpful. Recommended.....

Montanita surfcamp is a verry nice and beautiful spot to park your van just in front of the beach. Charlie the owner is a friend of mine so i came here with my volkswagen bully. The place is safe and perfect to hear the sound of the waves while you sleeping. ; ) its a place away from all the party and loud music from the maintown.
Charlie was working for years in the tourism business so he know a lot about ecuador. He is always happy to help his guests with everything he can.
If you like to take some surflessons he is a very good teacher with a lot of patience ; ) and if you allready in love with surfing he can bring you to the best spots on the coast!
Its a very nice place with very cool people! So park here, enjoy the ocean sound and relax..

We were able to park parallel to the wall in the parking lot and get power. Charley welcome us and asked what we like to drink, then sent someone into town as it was not in stock. Wifi reaches parking lot but craps out a bit. Nice palapa in front yard to sit under facing the beach - which is clean! Still $5pp. Bathroom is clean but there's no toilet seat, and sometimes no paper, and doesn't flush well. Okay claro reception, 4g but not really fast. Lovely location away from the crowds at main part of beach but not so far you can't walk.

What a great place!
We were travelling "two up" and arrived at Montanita surf camp; initially we thought no "one was at home" and were about to leave, but Charley the owner of 20 years was upstairs.... so if this happens to you, go looking. We intended on staying only 2 nights but ended up staying for 5. The place is about a 5 minute walk from the town center on the outskirts of the town. This provides a excellent quite spot which...... if desired allows you to easily go into town, which, by all reports gets very crazy on the weekends. There is a carpark area for large rigs etc (from what we saw no electricity available in the carpark area) and camping was on the sand about 50 mtrs from the ocean with great views. There are drinks available to purchase, and if required Charley will also cook some traditional Ecuadorian food. We camped for $5 pp and there are also hostel rooms available (we did not view). One note, there is only one toilet (with no toilet seat) with a shower in the same area; the shower is simply a pipe (no shower rose) and is not heated (but not cold), there is no mirror or pegs to hang items while showering and being in the same area it can get a bit hectic at times, so if you are looking for a more structured place this may not be it..... its a Surf Camp!
The whole place has an excellent vibe and relaxed feel, the beach is safe for kids but a note that when we visited there were a few "Stingers" (small jelly fish) in the water.
Charley will go out of his way to make you feel welcome..... all you need to do is ask....... this would be one of the best places we have stopped at in the 2 years of travelling SA.

Stayed here for 2 nights, $5pp and we stayed in our van out the front, we were able to get electricity to the van.
Charlie was very helpful with everything including taking me around town to purchase a surfboard. Let us wash our van out the front aswell

Sur la plage à côté de l'hôtel Montañita surf camp et à 5 mn à pieds du centre ville. WC douche chaude, super tranquille la nuit et sur.

El hostel recibe a viajeros en vehiculo, hay lugar para estacionar varios frente al hostel y charlie, el dueño, super buena onda con los viajeros. lugar muuy tranquilo y seguro, y muy cerca del mar. a 5 calles del centro, muy recomendable.
