MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Private Property
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
It seems this place has been mistaken as BLM, it’s privately owned land and has no trespassing signs up and a barrier. You can see the parcel is owned on Arcgis.com.
Report Check-InHello. Sorry if I posted twice...having trouble with this app. Just checking in to say that this location is private property. I know this because I am the new owner as of 2017. We have posted “Private Property No Trespassing “ signs and would really appreciate it if you all can respect that. I’m here now and picking up garbage including used toilet paper etc. Also if you can spread the word that this is not BLM land we would appreciate it, You can easily verify this on the internet. Just Google San Bernardino Co parcel maps...it’s all on there. I am going to try to have this location removed from this website. Thank you very much. Hope y’all understand.

Report Check-InAs described, quiet camping with all you need for your stay in Joshua NP.
Report Check-Injust as described. dispersed camping on the other side of the skies the limit observatory. the sites to the right have posted no trespassing signs as well as sandbags to deter campers from staying but the sites to the left of the road are open. lots of smashed glass bottles around so be careful. picnic tables and trash bins are found in the observatory parking lot. kind of windy, mostly hot with no shade. room for vans, and big rigs but be sure to check the weather as some of the sites sit in washes. the events are free at the observatory every Saturday night around 9.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay when visiting Joshua Tree park. Very quiet and secluded. The nearby road is mostly hidden behind a small rise.
Report Check-Inright before the park entrance. wouldn't wander too too far if your rig is a little older or heavier like mine. they have a nice observatory at the entrance of the area where you can check out neat sculptures, the stars and plants. we were here during the wildflower bloom for two nights in a truck camper. no amenities except bathrooms when events at the observatory.
Report Check-InGood place for free overnight parking.
Windy! 2 nights without trouble!
BLM land located behind Sky’s The Limit just outside of the north entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. There were multiple campsites with fire rings. We stayed here for three nights with our 30 ft Class C RV and had no issues. Can get windy at night, but the views are worth it!
Report Check-InGot to Joshua Tree 2 and there was already someone there. said they found that spot because of the app. spent the night here because it was available and I didn't want to have to go searching. Had another woman in a camper show up and ask if she could camp with me, I said yes, there was plenty of room so that worked out well.
Report Check-InThere are several wild spots to park. Weekends are a bit busy, but weekdays were pretty quite. Have stayed here 3 times now. No toilets. Just a great view
Report Check-InWhen we stayed there, this spot was full, so we went straight 100m ahead, before the gate we turned to the right, better than the previous spot.
Report Check-InStayed here from 9pm till 3am, went back into the park to shoot astrophotography, then back to this site from 6am-10am with no problems. Quiet, nice view of the valley.
Report Check-In2nd time here- still for free- but with the strong wind at night a little bit shaky
Report Check-InNothing special but for free at the entrance of JTNP; we had a calm night
Report Check-InDecent spot with nice view of the valley. Nice city lights at night time
Report Check-InStayed one night. no issues lots of wind. Uncomfortably hot in July wouldn't recommend staying below 4,000ft in Hindsight would have payed for the higher campgrounds in the park.
Report Check-InDirt road behind skies the limit. Stayed for 3 night with no problems, you are hidden from the road by a hill. A couple pull outs off one path each with fire rings. There was high winds and no coverage so not ideal for tents or pop ups.
Report Check-InNo problem to stay with a small RV, was here with my 24 ft. Quiet place
Report Check-InGood place with nice view, stayed two nights, very quiet and safe. Perfect for our camper Van !
Report Check-InGreat spot right outside of j tree. There are some fire pits and beautiful views. Be thoughtful about food placement-saw three coyotes pretty near by this morning.
Report Check-InQuiet spot. More campers. In the morning we talked to a lady maintaining the observatory nature center and she mentioned that this is actually private land, the owners are not there and didnt put a sign up yet. This might change in the near future.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Especially when the road to the dry lake north of the national park (BLM) is flooded and the dry lake itself possibly too.
Can get pretty windy.
