Swings out over water, loungers, shade, large grassy area and tables under palapas. 125p per adult; (update 150pp) half price children, under 5 free. Cold showers, toilet seats but not oilet paper. no hook ups. Small shop/restaurant on site. Well worth extra cost and SO much nicer than cocolitos. steep driveway but our 7.5m campervan was fine.

Clean campsite on the lake 5kms before Bacalar. Restaurant closes at 6, Bar closes at 8. BBQ grills available to use.

Report Check-In

Wow, what a beautiful place. They have loads of palapas and huts next to the water, there is a swimming deck, 4-5 hammocks on a deck next to the water, 2 hammocks IN the water, swings in the water, etc. The price is 180 mxn per person, but for us it was worth it. You park in their parking lot with your van, which is a small downside, but the whole place makes up for it all.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot. It was 188 pesos for 1 person to camp in the tent that is provided. Good prices for an on-site restaurant. I paid 155 pesos for 3 large shrimp tacos and 1 litre of water. Nice swings & hammocks in the water and a large assortment of hammocks, loungers and plenty of shade. Power everywhere as well as wifi.

Report Check-In

Good, compact site with rooms, tents to rent and a small restaurant with WiFi.
Clean and safe. Direct access to the lake.
Not much space for tents or riggs, pretty dense.
Not very friendly.
Stayed there one night.

Report Check-In

Tried to go here on a Friday at about 4pm and the gates across the road immediately off the highway we're locked.

Report Check-In

the roads are too bad for big rv's (our is 3,20 high) u cannot reach the campground

Report Check-In

Charging $180 ppn now.
As it is low season and less people are coming here the price went up.
Different interpretation of low season pricing...ah well.
And as you have to camp in the car park with your van it’s way overpriced. Stayed for one night and moved on. Staff not very friendly.

Report Check-In

A great camping spot right on lake Bacalar. $150pp for your own tent. Wifi, awesome hot showers, clean toilets, electricity to charge phones ect. There were swings over the lake and hammocks to relax on during the day and night. It was a really nice spot that got busy during the day and was quiet by night.
Management was not the friendliest but the night manager was very nice and helpful. Would recommend staying here! Great spot.

Report Check-In

Same as the comment before...actually a nice place, but to many „dayusers“ here, just a parking place, no privacy and the price not worth. The staff is also not very friendly.

Report Check-In

don't go to this place!
the lagune is nice, yes. but this is definitely no place for overlanders. very small parking lot, very unfriendly staff, they have an extra charge for every datail.
we arrived late, the place was empty. but they have a partnerhostel in the centre and brought so many 'dayusers'. the place was overcrowded. really overovercrowded!!

Report Check-In

Nice place. Having trouble with my 30ft rig to exit but managed...
No pets :(

Report Check-In

New price is 150,- pesos/person. Cold showers and toilet at the main building. They just build a new house with guest rooms (not finished yet) but it has hot showers. Notice: Dogs/Mascotas are not allowed here! Because they could bark and disturb the people. But there are dogs barking at the property next to. Anyway we stayed here for two nights and it was mostly quiet. During the day it’s a little busy due day visitors and on weekends Mexicans with loud music as everywhere. It’s a little overpriced and the WiFi is very slow.

Report Check-In

Hot showers are now working. The staff were very friendly with us and the location is beyond beautiful. Wifi fine and they light the campsite with flares at night time. Millions of stars at night time and the lagoon swings of dreams. Definitely spend some time here.

Report Check-In

That's the first time on our 15 month travel that we felt not welcome and a bit ripped off. We arrived here with three of our friends and wanted to enjoy a relaxed day, what we did in the end BUT we had to pay 300 Pesos (150 p.P.) for staying at the parkinglot in our Van (ok, we knew this before), without electricity. Additionally our friends had to pay 50 Pesos each for a daypass?! So far "so good". Then at 6pm one of the unfriendly campsite-employees said that our friends had to leave because the daypass is only valid till 6pm (nobody mentioned it before!) As we ordered two more beer, they allowed our friends to stay a bit longer but reminds us twice that time is running...we felt not so comfortabel here and i would not come here again, although the lagoon itself is nice. But you find cheaper places elsewhere, especially when you are in a camper! Furthermore we were not allowed to park below the only shaded spot...many weird rules which made us feel like described. We should have left directly...in my opinion: not an overlanders place!

Report Check-In

It's a nice place but a little bit overpriced. 150 per person. There are hot showers now in the second building. WiFi is working fine. The camping itself is just a parking lot. But the whole place is really nice with Palapas and swimming opportunities in the Laguna.

Report Check-In

Price is now 150MP pp (high season they said), if you want electricity it's 100MP more. A little bit overpriced for what you get. Toilets and showers are ok. No kitchen area to do your dishes. The land gets muddy when it rains a little bit, but cars are ok, it just gets a little bit dirty. Nice view of the lake. Pretty calm at night (even during the weekend). They offer a free shuttle to town.

Report Check-In

Nice place as described. We paid 150/night/person in our truck camper without electricity. No water hook up but can refill camper at a faucet.
A bit if construction noise currently due to building improvements on property and neighboring site as well.
Nice vibe with a few hostel guests arriving daily from town with a truck shuttle and return in the late afternoon.

Report Check-In

beautiful spot on lake Bacalar. plenty of flat space for tents/ rigs. edmundo very welcoming. cold showers but toilets have the holy trinity (locks/ seats/ paper) . mossies to be expected, free coffee in the morning. double kayaks for rent 100p for an hour. price 140pppn, very worth it!

Report Check-In

Great little camping spot right on Lake Bacalar. Two cabanas to rent, lots of spots for tents. Clean bathrooms and showers (maybe only cold water?). There is a little cantina on site that serves food and snacks, and free coffee in the morning.
We paid 140 pesos/person/night and we had our own tent. Everyone working here was very friendly and welcoming. Mostly dirt road off the highway and a tiny steep section once you pass the gate, but cars/trucks and motorbikes will be fine. Very quiet and very relaxing!

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights. $140pp pn. not too busy, really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place. very clean, right on the lake.

Report Check-In

Great place especially in the off season, pretty big parking lot. Steep descent in the last 50 meters, could be a problem for 2wd in the rain. Rented a tent for 200 pesos, parked the bike and enjoyed Lago Bacalar. Great views, clean bathrooms and showers. Cabanas also available, towel and bed sheets provided for the tent rental.

Report Check-In

Awesome place!!!! So beautiful. Quiet and not too hot at night.
Bathrooms are great and clean, people very nice. Swings and hammocks in the water.
And there is good WiFi.

Report Check-In

What a beautiful place. We enjoyed the water swing so much. The new prices are 150 pesos per person, however we paid 140 pp after some bargain. No electricity but the bathrooms are ok.

Report Check-In

Ended up staying for 4 days! Lovely, quiet spot and the real draw is the beautiful lake. It's perfect for swimming and kayaking and the weather was superb. There are no proper hook ups but they'll let you link up to their electricity if you have along extension lead. You can also fill up on their water. The road down is very steep so beware - really a site for smaller rigs! They also provide free coffee in the morning - nice touch.

Report Check-In

Like everyone in the area they have got crazy about prizes. They told us 140pp to stay in our tent. Later they agreed for 120 and when we were leaving they stopped us offering 100pp.
The place has beautiful water access with the most beautiful color starting from the shore! Day use 40pp.

Report Check-In

$280MX/2people/night...way too expensive. No electric or WIFI.

Report Check-In

They have a very firm no pets policy.... even on leash, picking up after them and everything. (I know that may sound silly, but most no pet policies in mexico have been adjusted with a little convincing that we are responsible owners)... looked gorgeous though!

Report Check-In

Beautiful place at the lake to swim and relax. Showers an restrooms are clean and ok. We payed 125 pesos/people/night.

Report Check-In

road ruff to get on. very clean toilets n showers. cold. we asked n paid for elec. it went out. wo for 2 hrs. said sorry. miraculously w someone else needed it they were able to turn on immed. hmmm. Beautiful location. I however was EATEN ALIVE by flees. awful.

Report Check-In

Very well maintained campground. Steep driveway: 9ft wide at its narrowest point. 12+ ft overhead clearance.
. Grassy spots, palapas and swings on the water. Common kitchen and clean bathrooms, cold showers. Excellent cell reception. 375 for 2 adults and kids in a camper van. Asked 150 more to plugin into electricity at onsite tienda. No dumping, running water or electrical connections on sites. Only one space has shade.

Report Check-In

Excellent place to stay right on the lake. No noise at nights besides the occasional dog, but we are in Mexico right? Showers and bathrooms are clean. Coffee for free from 8-10AM. They offer breakfast and drinks in the little tienda on site. 250 pesos for a truck and small camper with 2 adults and 2 kids under 10 (free for kids under 10). 100 pesos more if you want to plug in, but you will need a very long extension cord. Definitely recommend it.

Report Check-In

We stayed here the last 10 days (and we will stay some days more)
There was no music at all!
Very quite nights!

The campsite is fine and has a nice location on the lake but the building next door has a very large sound system and was playing music all night long. The Yaxche staff can't and won't do anything about it and refuse to give a refund.

So if you want to sleep - I would avoid this place.

Report Check-In

We paid 110 pesos pp to sleep in our Westy on a grassy field underneath palm trees. Clean bathrooms and showers, friendly host, complimentary coffee every morning, amazing location on lake with swings over water and palapas. They also have kayaks and canoes for rent at 100 pesos/hr for two people. No wifi but great cell service. Strongly recommend this place!!
