Because the RV park was a bit too crowded to our taste, we decided to just try. We were met by a somewhat irritated lady who said: "we don't do camping anymore". I apologized, saying that the message on iOverlander was more than a year old and concerned the pandemic. "We're selling the place", she replied. I promised I would mark this place as closed.

Report Check-In

As of 18 November 2020, the state tourism office confirms that Santa María del Tule is still closed to tourism, as are most attractions in the area. Our campground remains closed for the foreseeable future.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately we are still closed for the foreseeable future.
Covid is still very active here and our town is still closed to tourism.

Report Check-In

We were, again at Overlander Oasis and again it was a wonderful experience. We had a very nice time with the other travellers and with Leanne and Calvin. They treat their guests if they are family, can give you a lot of information about the area and if you have a technical problem Calvin knows a solution. Best place also to visit El Tule, a nice little town

Report Check-In

Very nice place ! Leanne and Calvin are so nice and helpful, they give you advices to visit. Hot Shower, toilettes and peaceful place. Recommend it !

Report Check-In

This has been my 3rd time staying at OO. Love the location and the hosts Calvin n Leanne....Feels like visiting friends when I'm there. Always seems to be a great group of overlanders enjoying the area and taking advantage of Calvin's skills. This was the first time he helped me with a welding/rebuild on my vehicle...A pleasure to work with and a master of fixit....Thanks to you both for a great stay...

Report Check-In

Perfect place to regroup and take in a sweet town. OO is small, but very comfortable. Attracts great travelers, we love the people we met! Calvin and Leanne make you feel like family and they know so much about the area...

Report Check-In

From all the campgrounds we visited via iOverlander this was by far our favorite. Calvin (the owner) is not just a fantastic mechanic, but also a talented genius when it comes to building “things”. He has a very creative mind and you can tell he loves what he is doing ... not just because he is good at it, but because he is simply a fun, smart, good and inspiring human being to be around. His wife Leanne makes this place a true Oasis and made us feel at home and in great hands. We came for a few days, but ended up staying two weeks, simply because of the amazing company and because it was so much fun working with Calvin on our camper. Don’t miss out on getting to know this boutique like campsite.

Elisabeth and Otto, Germany

We have been to Leanne and Calvin twice for a total of 3 months! We have been traveling for 4.5 years and for us it is the most beautiful place on the whole trip from Buenos Aires to México. We were welcomed like family and got support and help with everything. We learned a lot from them about the people, the culture and the Mexican food, SUPER !! We even had a lovely barbecue with everyone. Calvin built an aluminum box for me to safely stow a foldable wheelchair. We had a wonderful time with all the travelers from all over the world, and Leanne and Calvin. We will come back to visit them and have a good time again !!

Report Check-In

Cannot say enough about this place. Calvin is extremely helpful and can fix any problem you have with your vehicle! Definitely check this place out!

Report Check-In

This place is a must for overlander. Beautiful small camp place. Friendly and very helpful owner couple. Good tips, very perfect hot shower.

We got a tip by Calvin for a massage, she did it really good: "Blanca" / Massage El Tule, Av. Benito Juarez #12b, Tel. 951 274 1142 .

Report Check-In

I enjoyed my time at OO with Calvin and Leanne. They are wonderful hosts. The bathrooms were very clean and had hot showers. I felt save in their lot and in the area in general. Calvin is very knowledgable about many things that relate to your rig and I was able to get some ideas about possible mods for my vehicle from him. I would say the space has more shade than sunlight, so don't depend too much on solar if you plan to be there long term. They do have electrical outlets for an additional fee. I was here for almost 6 night I believe. Great place to meet other overlanders as well. It is a bit out of Centro Oaxaca, but with the inexpensive bus ride or biking, it wasn't a big deal to get there from here. Would recommend this place.

Report Check-In

We could have stayed forever. This place is very lovely and just perfect. Although we came here with a broken popup roof we really enjoyed our stay of 3 weeks. Thank you Calvin and Leanne for the tremendous help fixing our roof (it's even better now than before) and for the great hospitality!

Report Check-In

Back at the OO, this time as a guest in the casita. Leanne and Calvin are welcoming as usual, the casita is perfection and has everything you need. Wish we were here for longer!

Report Check-In

Highly recommend this place! Leanne and Calvin are the best Hosts you can wish for, they gave us several good Tips about the area, helped us with some stuff about our car and invited us to cook together on our last evening. We enjoyed everything about this place.

Report Check-In

Loved this little place Calvin and Leanne are so wonderful.
They were overlanders and have hosted them for years.
They invite you into there home and know so much about what to do and see in and around Oaxaca. Leanne is often baking and shares with us guests. Calvin even made a German dish called Spaetzle for some German guests.
If Calvin can’t fix it (usually can) he knows a place or guy that can.
We asked all over who could help with our solar problems and he stepped up and just fixed it.

Definitely an oasis for overlanders

Report Check-In

All the excellent reviews about this place are right on. This was our favourite spot to camp. Intended to stay only a few days and ended up extending our stay to a week and a half. This is a perfect spot for tent campers. Bathrooms are clean, wifi is super fast and the campground is ideally situated. Walking distance to El Tule, close to Oaxaca City, the ruins, Pueblo Mancomunados and many other sites. Leanne and Calvin are very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. They also foster a sense of community with the other campers and it just makes for a really nice stay. Highly recommended. Would definitely be our go to place to stay when we are in the area again. Definitely contact them ahead of time to inform of dates you intend to stay. They respond quickly.

Report Check-In

Had the best stay in this little oasis. The most friendly, helpful and attentive hosts. Calvin and Leanne went over and above helping us with a place to leave our car for a few weeks nearby, fixing a small rattle on the car, planned a fun cooking class for the Overlanders and knew so much about the area and all the spots nearby that you want to check out.
A few blocks from the big tree in Tulle. Easy 20min bus into town. Clean bathrooms and showers. Only good things to say about this spot!

Report Check-In

A wonderful site, small but great location and has all the facilities you need. Super-friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. if you need to do any work on your vehicle, Calvin is your man - he has an amazing workshop and can fix anything! We really enjoyed our time here with Leanne and Calvin - a great place.

Report Check-In

I found a much much better option for camping near Oaxaca in the newly opened RV park close by. I hesitate to leave a poor review for Overland Oasis, but the new options available are like night and day. There is no room here for anyone, it is a postage stamp space with vehicles on top of one another. I could not use a microwave without blowing circuits for everyone. The toilet is in the same space housing the shower so it's use is for 1 person only. No common spaces. Forget about trying to come in and out to travel to attractions because other parked vehicles would need to move first. It's just a backyard.

Report Check-In

We came here as it sounded amazing. but we couldn't stay because we have a dog, we were sad as we were told this is an excellent location and great place to meet other overlanders. we met a cool guy in a wicked swiss overlanding vehicle as we were leaving. really too bad as it looked great. we couldn't contact ahead to ask. but definitely recommend doing so. the lady showed us to a spot down the road we could stay at. Very friendly people. nice of them to show us another space we could stay.

Report Check-In

Stay at the Overlander Oasis, you won't regret it. Great amenities, great location, and Calvin and Leanne are super hosts. They were very helpful and friendly, and will have answers to anything you may need during your stay. We also met other wonderful travelers during our time here; we had group dinners, great conversations over snacks and beers, and explored the surrounding areas together, which made the experience even better for us. Highly recommend! PS, check out their website for discounts if you plan to stay longer than a week.

Report Check-In

We stayed a couple nights with Leanne and Calvin and loved it! Their knowledge of the surrounding areas is very helpful! Definitely call before going as they have limited spots :)

Report Check-In

Overlander Oasis is a wonderful place. This little Campground under the trees is really an oasis and a meeting point for travellers. Nice bathroom and shower with hot water. Leanne and Calvin are very friendly and helpful and they can give you a lot of information about the area. Calvin can help you with car problems and if he can't fix it, he knows someone who can. Sometimes they organise cooking classes or burger evenings and that's why the atmosphere is so good on this place. We loved it

Report Check-In

We've spend 8 nights at Overlander Oasis and enyojed it. Our 26 ft. motorhome is close to the maximum. Save and quiet place, very clean bathroom, also electric, water and dump station. But most important: Leanne and Calvis are very friendly and helpful hosts. We felt very welcome. One evening they organised a meeting with all campers with barbeque. We had fun. If you have a problem with your motorhome, ask Calvin. Short walk to the center of Santa Maria del Tule. 200 Pesos per night.

Report Check-In

If you contact before arriving (really important) and there is availability you'll enjoy a great place as described below. you will really find an oasis where you will feel at home

Report Check-In

Leanne and Calvin fulfil your wishes before you have expressed them: when I returned from a walk there were a cold box and lamp on my table. They know the area well and give lots of excellent advice. Calvin is a brilliant mechanic and will always try his very best to help his guests.
After 2 days you feel like a friend.
All this amply makes up for limited space and only one bathroom. I really enjoyed my stay.

Report Check-In

Great place. Very friendly, good facilities, fast WiFi, great location close to shops, restaurants and local transport, we really enjoyed our many weeks here! Calvin and Leanne are super-helpful with any local info and practical help to source whatever you need. We met many overlanders of all nationalities over our time here; it's a very sociable place 😀! It's a small cosy site and very popular, so it's best to contact them in advance.

Un vrai Oasis dans une belle région. Leanne nous a bien introduit à la région et Calvin a été de bon conseil pour notre problème de moteur.. je recommande fortement. Réserver à l’avance , il n’y a que 5 places pour accueillir les véhicules

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Great place, next to Oaxaca. Calvin and Leanne were very kind, Calvin helped us to do some refurbishment of the camper and we could also use their kitchen to bake some cookies before christmas. I can defenetly recommend overlander oasis if you not just wish to overnight somewhere but have some contact with owners as well. Call ahed advance to book place!

Report Check-In

This is hands down the best place we have been in Mexico. Fast Wifi, warm shower, clean facilities (even a sink!) and reasonably quiet for mexican standards. But the best is the hosts! Calvin is a great engineer and mechanic, eager to help out with any kinds of problems and knows all the right people around to fix things and get parts. We ended up staying there for a week and it was a great atmosphere with British, French, American, Swiss and German Overlanders present. We highly recommend this Oasis!

Report Check-In

Wow I can't say enough this place is one of the best!!
Quiet and peaceful with wonderful owners who are very knowledgeable about the aria and repairs you might need. Many good restaurants close by.
Fastest wifi I have had in months.

Report Check-In

Stay here 3 nights. Very great place ! Clean restrooms and shower, electricity, shade, friendly owners and lovely dog "Kygo" ! 200 pesos/night.
It's better to call before cause there aren't a lot of places to park.

Report Check-In

Echoing the below comments really, absolutely fantastic place to stay. Message ahead as we saw it fill up in the space of one day and not the biggest place. Wish we could have stayed longer but were there for 2 nights, great internet, amazing bathrooms & hot showers and really lovely hosts. Few mosquitos @ night but nothing we haven't had before.

Report Check-In

Planned to stay 2 nights; ended up staying 6 nights! Tule is a great little town, with more to experience than just the tree!

The OO is a nice place. No covered/enclosed common area for tent campers, but Calvin literally MADE me a table with a huge patio umbrella when I mentioned this deficit.

Blazing fast internet.

Leanne have me a long list of great local suggestions, from silk and candle workshops, to a top 10 worldwide restaurant, to Zapotec ruins, to the Hierve del Agua.

Shower was literally steaming hot and the bathroom is really nice.

Only downside: Lots of mosquitoes after dark while I was there.

Calvin has TONS of tools available to make literally anything from metal, wood, you name it.

Report Check-In

Had a fantastic 3 nights here, very welcoming and helpful Canadians (living up to the stereotype). Got some van work done and Calvin gave advice and helped with a project I had wanted to do for ages. Leanne gave us advice every day and even let the more active one of us join her morning exercise. Great place to feel secure, comfortable, meet others and get bits and bobs done on your vehicle (only thing not encouraged is oil changes which is fair).

Report Check-In

Add my recommendation for this site to all the others. Having spent four nights here, I feel like I am leaving as family. The owners are a wonderful couple and such pleasant company. Their animals (one dog and three cats) tolerated my little kitten, and mostly ignored her while she learned to not be afraid of strange things. Children show up at the gate selling desert, and I had one of the best meals in town that is walking distance. Secure and clean facility but compact, so please check ahead before you make plans. Personally it has been the best stop on my trip so far. 5 stars and the kitten says 10 out of 10..

Report Check-In

Absolutely great place! Calvin is is amazing, very welcoming and helpful. He knows everybody in Town and has a solution for every problem. Unfortunately we couldn’t meet Leanne since she visited Canada when we were there. The place is lovely made, close to the center of El Tule, Laundry just two blocks away, hot water, fast internet, book exchange. Please contact in advance since the place is famos and busy and respect the fact that dogs are not allowed. We absolutely loved it there!

Report Check-In

Planned to stay 1 night, but ended staying 6 nights. We couldn’t imagine to be stuck due to mechanical issues in a better place. Calvin & Lianne are great and fun hosts to stay with. They helped us so much with getting ready to hit the road again. Very much recommended! Their dog Caigo is the sweetest we ever met.

Report Check-In

A lovely place, with shade and a perfect climate.
Hosts are very welcoming and helping when needed. I speak from experience. Have been here for a week.
No kitchen available if you’re camping. The cabaña does have a kitchen.
Many restaurants nearby.

Report Check-In

The name is program! A true oasis for overlanders with helpful and super-friendly hosts Leeane and Calvin. Their welcoming way, their tips for visiting Oaxaca and it’s surroundings, their connection to workshops for all kind of car needs and the camping in their garden (flush toilet and hot (!!) shower) make you stay way longer than planned :-)
200pesos/night without electricity and 250pesos/night with electricity
And not to forget: Calvin‘s mechanical skills and his workshop are truly a SPA for every rig! He probably saved many overlanders from troubles along their way and fixes things you didn’t even notice they were broken! Thank you both for being there for the overland community passing through Mexico!

Report Check-In

Very nice place! If you need some repairs it's the perfect place. They have a huge workshop with tools. All the facilities are nice and the price (200 Pesos without electricity) nice. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Place was great. Stayed for four days, it felt like we were staying with friends. This spot is super close to dentist, mechanics and laundry if you need to get any of those things done while in town (the host Leanne and Calvin can recommend good spots) Close enough to get in to Oaxaca for a day of exploring but far away enough to not feel like you're in a big city. Call ahead if you can.

Report Check-In

We stayed at the OO for 8 days. Calvin and Leanne were such great hosts. Even before we stayed at their place, we were in touch with Calvin for several months, asking him all sort of questions and receiving lots of help. They helped us out with tips and recommendations about the area. Also Calvin did the installation of our solar panels, which are working great. He also helped us out with so many small repairs in the camper, he was always willing to help out and work on any project that crossed our minds. It was great staying here. As they said, when it gets a little bit crowded you might need to wait to use the toilet, but it's fine. Price was around 250MP/night for the two of us.

Report Check-In

Stayed 16 nights. Cosy site. Lots of shadow. Great hosts. Thanks!

Report Check-In

This place IS an Overlanders Oasis. The hosts Calvin and Leanne do go out of their way to help, with any issues you may be having with your rig. Calvin is a true renaissance man he can fix anything or has the best local suggestions for repairs.

The place is unbelievable clean and relaxing. A must stop in Oaxaca, they have the best advise on local tourism places.

Report Check-In

Highly recommended! What a great find this was for us: quiet and secure at night, hot shower, clean bathroom, and reliable wifi. Located in El Tule (where the 2000+ year old tree is), it's very easy to get to Oaxaca center by bus (7 pesos) or taxi. Several good restaurants and a very pretty plaza within walking distance as well. Calvin and Leanne really make it their mission to make all guests feel welcome. We really appreciated their warm, genuine hospitality. (We had only planned to stay for 1-2 days, ended up hanging around for nearly 2 weeks!) A very enjoyable, relaxing experience. NOTE: definitely call/email ahead before arriving due to limited space; replies are prompt.

Report Check-In

Great home base for visiting Oaxaca. Leanne and Calvin are awesome hosts who go out of their way to help overlanders. Calvin fixed several issues we had with our rig. We felt like family. Definitely call or email if you want to stay here. The place is busy and only has room for about 4 smaller rigs.

Report Check-In

Many thanks to Leanne and Calvin for this great place and the help of "renovating" our rolling home (T3 Westfalia). Calvin and I built an Alubox for the Luggagerack, some nice Interieur for our popup tent, as well as we fixed the injection pump. Working with him was so much fun! Jesus painted our Van and Victor made our frontseats. We wanted to stay approx. 3 days in our "old" Van and left after 3 weeks in our "new" Van ;-) We had a good time at the OO and could have stayed even longer as Leanne and Calvin are very welcoming and nice friendly people! I hope we will come back sometimes!

Report Check-In

Fabulously clean, friendly place. Great spot to recharge and meet other overlanders. Calvin built a couple of awesome things for our Westfalia while we were there. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

This place is just what you need as an overlander, if only all places were like it. Hot shower, great internet, leveled parking, good location and most importantly great and knowledgeable hosts. Stay a few days, see Oaxaca and Tule and relax :)

Report Check-In

Great place to stay if you need help with anything as Calvin is quite a handy and knowledgeable guy. He and Leanne are welcoming hosts and it is a great place to stay if you want to explore in and around Oaxaca. Very short walk to Santa María de Tule, where the big tree is, and an easy collectivo, bus, or taxi ride away from Oaxaca. Highly recommend.

Report Check-In

Great place. Calvin and Leanne are wonderful people. You have all the support in the world here; they will help you with everything they can. Hot showers, fast wifi. You can cycle to Oaxaca very easily. We were happy here for two weeks! The place is small so email or call them before you go; a few overlanders turned up without a reservation and it made things a little complicated.

Report Check-In

We stayed here the second time after January 17. Leanne&Calvin are great hosts. Calvin is a very good mechanic and always happy to help you. We stayed for one week in the very beautiful and big bungalow while our car got a new painting and a polished Cabin. Our Landcruiser Pickup is 20 years old and had a bit of rust. Jesus and his guys made a great job. Our Camper looked like new :)) Calvin can arrange a appointment with him. It‘s very recommendable!
Don’t worry about the earthquake, you don’t see any damage in Oaxaca.

Report Check-In

We stayed here 4 nights in our 4runner and rtt, it was perfect. Calvin and Leanne are great hosts with tons of info and advice if needed. Calvin fitted an extension wire to our solar panel. The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area. Only 11P per person by colectivo into Oaxaca. Definitely recommend.

Report Check-In

We simply loved it here. Great place, great bathroom, wifi and very helpful and nice owners...

Report Check-In

Clean, small, lovely place. Owners are incredibly helpful (they live on site). Convenient restaurants and markets walking distance. Great base camp location for day trips (use the cheap collectivo taxis) to Oaxaca City, Monte Albán, etc. Do take seriously the instruction to call ahead as this place can only accommodate a few vehicles. As others have mentioned, there is only one bathroom/shower, but because there are only a few campers, that wasn’t a problem while we were there.

Report Check-In

Nice campground close to the village, very friendly owner. Think about having a phone call before heading the camp as it has only few places. We paid 250 $Mex

Report Check-In

Just a perfect place with perfect hosts. Calvin could fill our uruguayan gas bottles!! Wow. Thank you both so much!

Super friendly place with a lot of information. Thank you for the help and good time.

Report Check-In

Wonderful place and people. A bit small but cozy. Sometimes it takes some shuffling when a bigger truck comes or goes. Very close to many good restaurants and stores. Calvin is very knowledgeable in the area, in his repairs / fabrication and in the kitchen. "If we cant do it we know someone who can"
Unfortunately his wife Leanne was away.

Report Check-In

Very friendly hosts. Convenient location. Tight spots - rigs are within an arms distance. Situation with bathroom gets tense, as there is only one for the entire camp. Reasonably priced. Very good wifi.

Report Check-In

Best spot in the area. Very friendly and helpful owners. Walking distance to famous "tree of Tule". 20 minutes with a taxi to Oaxaca (cheap) or 40 minutes with the collectivo (even cheaper).
Only downside: They put as many people in the place as they can, and they only have 1 combined toilet/shower. When the place is fully booked the bathroom situation is annoying.

Report Check-In

they are just wonderful. such a sweetspot to forget about the last stressfull drive over topes.
calvin is down to help with any kind of repairs! and he enjoys the callenge!
i had damaged my camper in a small street previously, a camperjack had caught a holding wire of a electricity pole.
i had just planed to ask for tools and ideas but he ended up starting the repair, with me giving a hand.
He has all sorts of tools you can imagine, a good place to perform repairs yourself too if necessary. If you know what you are about to do and what tool you need, he won't just jump in and do it himself, but i have to admit i was clueless.
it was about 5 hours of work and he even went into town (unasked) to get more corking (he left while i was cleaning up some stuff, i was confused but i thought he had to catch someone)
it is kind of a weird feeling when he tears losts of the exterior apart, but he knew what he was doing. i was really satisfied with the result (look at the pics) and asked him to tell me a pice for mateials and his work. (if i hadnt asked i think i would have ended up with that job for free, not once did he mention or ask for anything! but that wouldn't have been right) i ended up paying 1700 pesos (about 80 euros/100us) which is maybe more than in a local bodyshop, but it was really good work! he knows all kinds of RVs. it would have been so much more effort to explain in spanish and understand what the mexicans are planing to do, i highly doubt it would have such a good outcome in the same short amount of time)
the chats we had, whilst repairing were great too!
he raced the offroadrace in baja a couple of times, prepares racingcars for frinds, helped out at la carrera panamericana for a team and just is a great skilled mechanic.
he told me that for one couple, he transformed a rootop tent for a range rover into a popuptent because they were sick of the rain and wanted to end their travel. And that is just one of the crazy repairs / transforms he performed for travels. don't be afraid to ask him for his opinion, but be warned he might just start the work!
and do me and all overlanders a favor and pay for the awesome work he does :)

Great place, great hosts, that's why we spent 9 nights with Calvin and Leanne. Tule is a good base, a nice little town in itself with all the basic facilities you could need and a friendly feel plus it's a good location to get into Oaxaca, Monte Alban, Mitla etc. OO is much more than just a campsite, for us it was a place to make some improvements and small repairs to our van and with Calvin's skills, workshop and help with arranging parts this was so much easier than it might otherwise have been. Good clean bathroom facilities and so nice to have a washing up sink, in general an all round well kept site. We could not have asked for nicer company from our hosts and also the other overlanders we met.

We've heard about how wonderful it was to stay at Oasis, and we immediately called to check availability. Both Leanne and Calvin were very nice and patient as we called few times to say we will be checking in late. We were climbing outdoors and even arrived after midnight. There is great WiFi and a nice hot shower. The place is very clean, secure and quiet at night. Perfect location - so close to the San Sebastian Tutla climbing area and not far from Oaxaca, Mitla, Tlacolula Sunday market and Hierve el agua.

Leanne is an excellent host. We are the only ones staying here currently. Could be tight quarters if four vans/trucks showed up. Do contact before coming in. She provided us with tourist maps of area and told us which road to take to get to Ford dealer for truck repairs. She also encouraged us to go to annual dance festival Guelaguetza and was it worth it.

l The best place all the way from Alaska to mexsico for us!! owner(kelvin from canada) helps and maintains the place in a very high standard!!

Report Check-In

If every country has its travelers hub, for Mexico thats the place. Leanne & Calvin are great hosts & have extreme knowledge & experience of the surroundings. If you have any work to be done in your vehicle, Calvin is your man. Well equipped workshop and vast experience on modifications, upgrades, building etc etc at reasonable prices. Wifi is fast like hell, the casita is big enough for 4 adults and the camp is good to relax! Book in advance!! The place is amazing but small and they need to do their arrangements. At the time of our visit, they could easily fit a MAN & a MERC european big trucks plus two normal campervans. You will love this place.Oaxaca & all the markets are a matter of time with public transport.

Leanne and Calvin, the owners of Overlander Oasis, are some of the nicest and most helpful people we've had the pleasure to meet. They are fun, incredibly helpful and super generous. We stayed 7 days while we visited nearby places, worked on couple of design projects and waited for auto parts shipped from the US. The place is inviting, quiet with a nice hot shower and spotless restroom. We had the opportunity to meet and make friends with other overlanders traveling the PanAm. Calvin helped us with a couple of car fixes and Leanne treated us with her amazing sweets! All in all we had a great time at Overlander Oasis. We had time to relax, recharge batteries and share with good company.

Great hosts! Calvin welded our pannier rack and only asked for a donation in return. Calvin and Leanne took us out to their local hamburger joint and paid for our dinner! A bit on the pricey side for us at $200 pesos per night so only stayed three nights, but would've loved to relax there for longer. The wifi was so good I could watch you tube, which pretty much hasn't happened since we entered Mexico. The only downside was that there weren't any other motorcyclists there when we were there. They like to know when you're coming and going but not in an obtrusive way. Hope we return on the way back.

what about? Just perfect! The place is small, about 4-6 places, so please contact them to ask if there is a spot for you ;) the Bathroom is one of the cleanest we have seen between Alaska and Mexico, shower is HOT and the is also a sink for wash your dishes ecc. About the owners? Just gorgeous! Calvin and Leanne are lovely, whatever you ask you will get the best answer possible, informations about how to move to the attraction, places where to get you stuff or eat some nice speciality! Also Calvin fixed us a problem we had with our car, a blocked rear door, Thank you sooooo much! We will come back, this is a place where you can feel at home.

Great place to stay while visiting Oaxaca and surrounding sites. Secure and safe. Great places to eat close by. Calvin and Leanne are very helpful and have a wealth of information about the area and travelling mexico. I am travelling on my motor bike.

Great place to relax. Super friendly Canadian owners! M$200

Report Check-In

It really is an oasis, and a great home base to explore Oaxaca. Calvin and Leanne are awesome!

Report Check-In

Great site for 4-5 smaller rigs. Make sure you book in time! We stayed at the Oasis for eight days and did quite a bit of work to our 1957 Mercedes-Benz and our tent-trailer. Calvin, man of many talents, helped us with quite a few of the jobs and directed us to local people for larger work. Most helpful and practical. We will be back there in a few weeks!! Highly recommended - campgrounds do not come better in Mexico!

Report Check-In

Our time at Overlander-Oasis was very good. Leanne is a very good host and was very helpful by giving us recommendations where to go to eat and how to reach the city of Oaxaca. The restrooms are very clean and the wifi signal is ok! We payed 200 without electricity. They have a dog, Morena and 4 cat. We would recommend it to everyone! It's really an oasis because you can spread out and feel home! Unfortunately, we haven't been able to meet Calvin since he was in Guadalajara!

Just a note, this place will not accept dogs anymore. FYI. Plan accordingly.

We went back! I ordered a few parts and had them shipped to OO. Went back when they arrived and Calvin helped ( did ) the install. Had a great time with Calvin and Leanne. highly recommended. Email first to see if there is space.

Very nice place. Very nice couple. Read other reviews, not much to add

Report Check-In

We had 9 great days at OO. Leanne and Calvin are wonderful and welcoming hosts. They are a wealth of information about the area. There is space for about 4-5 units, so it is very important to email them ahead of time.

The Overlander Oasis is a great place to stay in Santa Maria del Tule, about 11 km east of Oaxaca. You can reach the City or most of the attractions (Hierve el Agua, Mitla, market in Tlacolula) by bus or Taxi-colectivo. Leanne and Calvin are really wonderful hosts. They know the area very well and can give you helpful information about everything (things to see, how to get there, price, etc.). Check their website for more information and prices. Please make a reservation ahead as there are only a few spots available. If you have a dog, check first with Leanne and Calvin!

Report Check-In

No longer dog friendly. We pulled in around 4pm and didn't receive the kind welcome that all the other reviews speak of....Maybe it's because we didn't make a reservation? But there were 2-3 spots open. A saving grace is that the nearby food is good and wifi is decent.

Report Check-In

Everything that's been said about this place is true. Extremely welcoming! We'll be back soon.

Report Check-In

Calvin and leann were great hosts, thanks again! Great little spot, short taxi ride to Oaxacas zocalo, walking distance to pretty much anything you could need. Stayed for a week at Christmas, and enjoyed being part of the annual Christmas potluck! Paid 200p per night

one of the best campgrounds in Mexico, they just worked on a major upgrade, one can only wish that all the campgrounds will be like this on the way

Cost: 150 pesos per night (as we were there over a week the price dropped)
Dates stayed: 25 November – 2 December 2014
This has been our favorite campground. The owners, Calvin and Leanne, are absolutely incredible and make you feel like family. They have lots of advice and can be helpful in so many ways. The wifi is really fast (no problem for Skype) and it is very secure. It is recommended to email [email protected] your intended arrival as they do get full. There is room for about 7 campers total.

Report Check-In

A perfect place to land for a few days. Calvin is a great host, the site is secure and good food and shipping is walking distance. 200 pesos per night for a tent camp.

Very nice place to camp (4/5 rigs), very friendly couple from Canada. Full hookup, nice bathroom, quiet. The village with one of the oldest three in the world is 5 minutes walking. 12 km from Oaxaca (buses & collectivos ). It's difficult to leave!

The welcome that awaits feels like coming home. No sooner had we arrived and we were off out for dinner with Calvin and Leanne (the owners). The location is great, the wifi strong, the showers hot and Calvin is a great source of mechanical knowledge. 200peso per night

A great place to be especially if you need to stay for a long period and do mods on your rig. We rented the Casita for 2 weeks and felt at home. It's walking distance from Arbol Del Tule, the magical tree. Calvin and Leanne's hospitality is amazing. Make sure to see the local fireworks and Japanese Horror film festival if you're in town during the first week of August.

Good location in Tule near Oaxaca. "Arbol de Tule" is 5 minute walk. We paid $250 pesos, including electrical hookup. It was 200 pesos w/o.

Great little place, unfortunately only 4-5 campers will fit in the yard. Owner very knowledgeable of automotive repairs.

Report Check-In

Have a few repairs to your rig that you’ve been putting off? Overlander Oasis is the perfect place to take a break and get things running smoothly again. Calvin is extremely knowledgeable and will help you. In addition, you can explore the area around Oaxaca easily from this location. I recommend you drop Calvin a line before stopping in, they like to have some advance notice of travelers as they don’t have a ton of room.

Report Check-In

we loved everything about this place, stayed for 3 weeks in 2013 and another 3 weeks in 2014 – PROS: great location outside of the city, super friendly and helpful owners, hottest showers we’ve had since leaving home, kitchen sink in bathroom for doing dishes, electric hookups, free wifi – CONS: only one bathroom with shower so if there are more than one group of campers it can mean waiting for a while, hard to leave – 250 pesos/night, 1250 pesos/week (less if you are not plugging in)

Report Check-In

- 200 pesos/night
- very nice and spotless bathroom, hot water
- free Wi-Fi (sluggish, but they are working on fixing it)
- family feel - this is basically a family garden
- cabana for rent
- fresh donuts delivered every day
- electricity for extra 50 pesos (if you need to use a lot of it)
