Terrible. After 4 sleepless nights disturbed by extremely inconsiderate locals with idiotic loud music and parties, We finally thought we found a quiet place in Arica. At 22.30 a motorcycle gang shows up with loud motors and decide to have a hangout directly next to our motorhome… unbelievable.

Gorgeous views. All spots are very uneven, we took the only flat-ish spot with levellers. Only 1 dirty toilet of which the door cannot be closed. We felt safe due to lightning and the militairs. During day very busy with visitors. The lack of sleep ruined it.

Arica, never again. Better drive past this polluted slum city, because people have no respect for overlanders or people’s night rest in general.

Stayed here one night after crossing the boarder from Peru before continuing our journey south. Amazing views during the day and at night. Flag is really cool. Toilets are cleaned in the mornings. A few cars here and there, but after midnight they mostly disappeared. I think there is a guard that stays all night, but there are cameras too. FREE.
