Nice open campsite, friendly people, only downside, no or very little cell reception,
Report Check-InGood place for a one night stopover. Nice grassed campsites with some trees. Friendly, helpful hosts. Ablutions are getting a bit tired and needs some serious maintenance. R270 per night for 2 people.
Report Check-In270 rand for two and a car. A bit old but clean. Braï spot. Tables.
Animals around.
Okay for one night.
Camping on Green Gras with power points, Braai stand and water.
Bathroom is a bit odd. Type of salon doors at the toilets and showers. Shower curtains can be seen through as well as the shower walls between the showers. Ablution could definitely take a facelift!
Paid 250 for one person one night.
No wifi.
Signal with Vodacom very poor.
Back here again for a second visit. Had the whole campsite to ourselves perhaps because of the high fuel prices ruling then. Steenbokkie's lovely host Roanda welcomed us warmly as before. The animals were as previously and this little oasis is just right for a one night stop or longer heading north or south. R250 pn for 2 adults camping incl. electricity and good hot showers.
Report Check-InSadly, the naughty Springbok that was good at stealing food off camper's tables is no more. But there are still numerous other animals and birds that share the campsite with you. And Roanda and Marius are the best hosts ever, attentive, always smiling and so hands on. Many other campsite owners should come here to see how it's done. They also have lovely rooms and chalets. We rate this one of the best campsites in the Western Cape. Come for one night and you'll end up staying for a week!
Report Check-InLovely green and shady campsite, about 10km from town. Lots of trees, green grass, water and electricity points. Neat ablutions and kitchen. Braais at each spot, farm dam to cool down. Ideal overnight spot between Cape town and Gauteng.
Report Check-InAs described by others the abolition blocks are fine and you stand on Gras.
R250 for two per night
Nice grassy and shady campsite. Very nice views on the karro’s mountains. Picnic table and braai facilities at our site. 250 rd for 2 people and a car.
Report Check-InNice place, big rig friendly. Not many animals around when we were there. Price is now 250R p2ppn
Report Check-InFor the backwaters of Beaufort Wes, this is a gem. Quiet, nice vistas, warm welcome, lots of tamed animals, manicured lawn, big old trees for shade, electricity and water at sites, good ablutions, R250 for 2p+car+caravan. Recommendable *****
Report Check-InNice campsite with pitches on grass.
It is a shelter for all animals they find, brought an picked up. And they ( geese, ducks, sheep, donkeys, springbok, dogs, cats, goats, turkey, peacock, horses and big belly pig and........flies!) all walk around your tent/ car. So, be carefull not to stap on some s..t. The springbok is so wild, that you can tap it on his one horn ;-) before it eats your table empty. So they will sing you at sleep in the evening, call on you at night and wake you up before sunrise.
Ablusion spacy and oké. There is a dish washing area and a big fridge to put in your things.
Price R200 for 2 people and car.
There is wifi, elec. and watertaps at the sites.
Even a swimmingpool, but we did not try that one. Do not make a misstake and jump in the waterbassin at the other side ;-)
We liked it here. It is a quit place, friendly owner and not busy (with people).
Good stopover. Bit windy. Springbok “pushy”... snatched a loaf of bread off table 😜. Some farm animals roaming around, but not a nuisance. Beautiful view.
Report Check-InGreat place. We spent a night in the Karoo NP campground across town, and it was packed with families over the April holidays. Steinbokkie was much better - since we prefer privacy. Only one other camper. We loved the farm animals- especially Juliette the potbelly pig. The owner is super nice and interesting to talk with.
Report Check-InVery nice. Very peaceful. Good view across the plains to Karoo Escarpment. Good ablutions. Friendly people. 200Rand for 2 people.
Report Check-InBeautiful campground with a lot of animals around and a little pool. Friendly owner and good facilities.
