They changed the price today and it is now 12.000 ARS (2.000 yesterday) for foreigners. Definitely too much for us, plus we haven't been warned that the price would change today when we entered the park yesterday.

Try to get here early, from the south road at least. We arrived at noon and the next available tour was at 2pm (mandatory to go with the tour). You can access from the north also (~2 hour drive from here), which is a very steep but short hike. This one is the easier walk. About an hour rippio gravel from the main highway.

We paid 2000 per person. The guide speaks English and Spanish. Tour takes about 1,5 hours. Definitely worth the visit. The area is amazing!

2000 ARS pp, really worthwhile. UNESCO World heritage. Paintings more than 10000 years old. guide asks wether everyone speaks Spanish and if not explains both in English and Spanish. Go there, you will never forget.

Tours are 2,000 ARS for adults, 200 ARS for kids. Cash only. Well worth the experience. Guides are bilingual, English and Spanish. Tours are every hour on the hour. Get there early to enjoy a smaller group. We missed the 9am tour but got there for 10am with only 6 people. The 11am tour had over 20 people, and the guide said the afternoon tours are even bigger.

Cuevas de los Manos. World Heritage of Humanity. Entry at 2000 pesos per person from 12 years old. Very nice guide. We were surprised by the sharpness of the cave paintings. We can believe that they were painted yesterday. Magnificent. There is also a bird's eye view of the Rio Pintura canyon which is splendid. You can also descend into the canyon for a walk by the river, it's free.

Magical place! Worth the dirt road imo which is heavy washboard in parts, and well worth the 2000 Pesos / 5-6 USD which even includes a guide.

Also can someone change the icon to the checkpoint sign? That’s more suitable I think haha

We were very hesitant to take the time and spend the money for this. While waiting for dog papers we had extra days- so we did it. Very, very glad we did.
The wind was terrible. The paintings are amazing. The guides were kind and patient. Jazmin loved answering extra questions asked.
We were able to eat lunch in the parking lot. Also we left the dogs in the camper with no problems. But did not ask and would not want to take them on the trail.

Price is still 2000 per person. Absolutely impressive to see such old well preserved remains.

Now 2000 pesos per. Excellent information on the guided walk, our guide spoke very good English and kept us included in the conversation. Amazing 9,000 year old rock art. We hiked over from the national park which is 4km RT, down into the canyon and back out, about 250m of gain total for there and back.

Beautiful canyon. We enjoyed the free mirador Cañon Pintura (zoom in on maps.me). We didn't go to the paintings. We are more wildlife oriented during our world travel :) and 2000 pesos per person is a way too much in our opinion.

Enjoy!

Cash only! Showed up with no cash hoping for the best (tried 4 different towns’ ATMs with no luck) and found out they don’t take cash. So thought I’d share here in case anyone else is in a similar position.

Really worth the drive. It was a great experience. The tours costs 400 pp and are hourly until 18h. We went with the last tour, it was just us and another guy, it was really nice. We came from the south and took the first road leaving the ruta 40, about 40km. The dirt road was a bit bad in the beginning but after 10km it was really good. On our way back, we took the second route, it was very steep and with deep gravel in bad conditions but still way shorter than the other route (+/- 25km).

Beautiful artworks between 3000 and 8000 years old in a magnificent protected canyon.
400 pesos for people up to 12 years old,
free under this age.
My kids and I loved it.
The guards let us sleep in our motorhome just on the right to their sleeping house. can use the toilets for free and have some water. a guard had a very good level of English, so we had a perfect explanation.
the place is extremely windy, but no problem for sleeping because we stick to the cliff and house, just some wind noise.
A lot of tourists during the days, with cars and small buses. at 5.50PM we were the only one to be here (they stop to take visitors from 6PM).
Everybody should take the north road, well maintained, shorter than the south road, but very steep. so FWD (traction) motorhomes should take the south road, in bad condition but drivable for anyone at slow speed.

For me, don't worth the money. 400 pesos is too much for hands on the cave. It is 30 kms od very bad route of route 40. You can see guanacos and Nandus in every part od Argentina. Isn't necessary to go to the desert...;-)

For 200 pesos OK but this is too much for more or less nothing. Thanks to god for a canyon, which offered us nice views. Friendly guide Angie - english spoken.

I can't recommend it.

Since 01/March/2019 the new price for foreigners is 400ppP! 200p for locals...

Inflation finally reached the place as it’s now 400pp (free for kids under 12). Still no pernoctar in the parking but numerous spots on the way. Great visit and friendly guide.

Report Check-In

note: as of March 2019, if you're driving here coming from south (El chalten / gobernador gregores / bajo caracoles) probably better idea to drives past bajo caracoles through the Ruta 40, and then finally take the road that people driving from Perito Moreno take. you can use your Gps to show you the route from Perito moreno to Curva de Las Manos. reason for my tip is - the length of the dust road (ripio) is much shorter and in way better condition for those coming from Perito Moreno than for those coming from south.

prices for Argentinians 200 pesos. for foreigners prices have raised to 400 pesos. no internet available. drinking water and toilets available.

20th March 2019 : it is now 400 pesos for foreigners. Still very impressive although the guide told us you can see the paintings better when there is less sun. We did the visit on a sunny morning, we were a group of 4 persons so it was good for speaking and taking pictures of the paintings and the landscapes. Don’t miss the little free museum at the beginning, it helps understanding the site.

Great tour! We showed up at 4:15 and got on a 5pm tour. Our guide spoke great Spanish and English. Price is now 400 pesos

Report Check-In

Still 200 pesos. We arrived at 13:15h. But the next tour at 2 p.m was already full so we had to wait for the next at 3 p.m. Unfortunately they started 15 min earlier and forgot us. A woman showed us the path to catch up the group. The guide explained everything in English and Spanish and repeated for us the missed information. She spoke quickly and not best English, but enough to understand everything and answer questions.
Nice and informative! Lots of paintings in very good shape although 8.000 years old.

Still 200 pesos/pp in January 2019 ! The inflation did not arrived here apparently 🤷🏻‍♂️ !

As written on the last comment : hourly mandatory guided tour (from 9 to 18). Little “museum” helpful before the tour. The guide was nice, easily understandable and with a lot of infos/dates/explanations/answers.

The paintings are really well preserved and the view on the canyon on the left side of the path is stunning !

1h10 from the Ruta 40 if you take the RP101 (not with asphalt!) !

highly recommended! Interesting art and great view of the canyon. Still $100 for national and 200 foreigners, tour every hour from 9 to 18hs.

Nice paintings, the guiedes english was horribly bad and didn‘t add anything that wasn’t written on the informaition signs. It was still 200 pesos entrance fees.

tres interessant mais tres court et les grilles qui empeche de s'approcher rendent un peu l'expérience plus courte encore. mais un arret sympa sur la longue route entre les 7 lacs et el chalten

Beautiful tour. Of the 2 roads to the Cuevas take the road further north. Gravel part is shorter and it is much better maintained. A bit steep though but the rental sedans manage.

We really enjoyed the tour of Cuevos de las Manos. Our tour guide was great, the small visitor center had some good information, and the paintings are amazing, well worth the money. A special place indeed.
