Parking and overnight stay is no more allowed. Security came and sent us away. The whole street from the main street up to ESO is private. We found another spot about 500 meters away (see other check-in)

Report Check-InPretty sweet wide dirt parking lot at the foot of the observatory. Great view of the mountains and sunset toward the ocean. we parked here at the same time three trucks of astronomy nerds were taking pictures of the night sky, I guess that's how good a view this is...
Report Check-InLovely spot with a great view of the observatory. We registered online at www.ESO.org on the Friday and were able to get on the tour on the Saturday. Might be harder in high season but there were a lot of people on the tour. Worth doing...
