Description
Christina and Hans, a very nice Swiss couple, offer camping on their family farm. It is located next to the proposed P.N. San Rafael.
Walking tracks into the bush and a small lake for a swim are available.

Power is a bit unstable.
If the weather is fine there is no problem with the access to the farm.
If it looks like rain it is not recommended for 2WDs.

By Route 1: From Carmen del Paraná, take the Graneros del Sur Route, passing through the cities of Fram and La Paz until you reach the Agricultural School of the Pastoreo and then Caronay. From Ynambú. There is a 10 km stretch of dirt road. Follow the signs to Pro Cosara.
From the south, by Route 6: From Captain Miranda, Km 18 (D Street), take Ruta Graneros del Sur, passing Fuji and La Paz. From there, follow the directions above.
From the north, by Route 6: On the course of Tamai, Km 56 (Pirapó), enter the dirt road, passing Cerro Gallo and then Ynambú. Follow the signs to Pro Cosara.

Por Ruta 1: De Carmen del Paraná, se toma la Ruta Graneros del Sur, pasando por las ciudades de Fram y La Paz hasta llegar a la Escuela Agrícola del Pastoreo y despues Caronay. De Ynambú. hay un tramo de 10 km de camino de tierra. Seguir los carteles hasta Pro Cosara.

Great chance to visit one of the last parts of virgin Atlantic rainforest in this region, a part of which the family owns and opens to public.
Total of 3 walks through the forest plus a large circular one. Quite similar but beautiful. Start early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat. It got to 35 degrees when we visited.
Birdlife is amazing, even though can be difficult to actually spot animals.
(We saw humming birds, king fishers, green billed tucans, Squirrel cuckoo, Tropical parula, woodcreepers, yellow headed caracara, etc etc, as well as monkeys, lots of butterflies, funghi, native trees, plants, etc)
Level of the lake was really low at the time we visited, because of a leak in the dam.
Road is hard packed red clay but in good condition. Can be slippery and perhaps even muddy after rainfall, but will dry up and harden out quickly.
We stayed in the garden with our motorhome (2p + MH, 75.000 per night), they also rent cabins. Includes electricity and access to showers and toilets.
Their garden is beautiful, with an array of local trees, plants and lots of birds as well.
They also produces soy beans and we saw maté plantations around the property.
Best to e-mail / whatsapp Christina ahead to let them know that you are coming. The visitor center supplied us with Christina’s number when we called the Pro Cosura head office. Not sure if she wants it here publicized.
They travel a couple of times a year so they are not always there, although workers and guardian will be present all year long.

The dirtroad was wet when we arrived. its a bit sleepery but doble with a 2wd
Nice campground with clean facilities.
Price was 50000 for 2 adults, 2 kids and a van. We stayed 2 nights and didn’t see any wild animals exept a wood-picker 😅. Trails are nice, in the primary forest.

We camped just outside the Swiss' couple camping, a storm had just passed, and the electric fence couldn't open. We ended up not paying anything, normally it's 30000 per person. Think twice if it has just rained and you're not driving a 4x4. We managed but were sliding at some points. Saw some monkeys but very few birds, might have been due to the weather.
Report Check-InYou can also station right outside of the camping for free. Just ask Laura! She offered us free shower too inside the administration building. There was no hot water, but with 35 degrees, when we visited the park, there was no need for this! Very quiet place to sleep at night! Be aware that coming here, you have to cross road with clay red dust, which can be annoying afterwards, if it enters the van, as you have to clean a lot.

Hans is the owner of the ecologic farm and a really nice person.
We did all the paths and saw monkeys and hundreds of birds.
They offer hot showers, clean toilets, barbecue area, open wifi, drinking water from the tap.
25.000 guaraníes pppn (15000 for camping and 10000 for PROCOSARA).

Report Check-InVery beautiful camping and nice short walks (10km). Shower and bathroom are clean. As backpackers without a car, we think that it's a bit expensive to get there (from Ynampu to Procasara camping 40000g). Worth a visit if you are motorized and a birdfan.
