Description

Beautiful beach in a big cove, coordinates are for the entrance, really easy road down perhaps a little steep coming back for heavy rigs but we saw a small truck drive up. nice restaurant with great ceviche and beer. might get busy on the weekend as there were a few people there on a Wednesday. clean portaloos. -

Latest Check-Ins

Not easy for big rig. Full of cars. Small road. long that goes very down!!!... not for a big rig. Totally full with people and noise.

I was disappointed The beach is not very attractive, not worth the long way down and up again. It is very quiet apart from the crashing waves. Absolutely no one around.

Nice beach, a little too much rubbish. We were all alone on a Tuesday. The 2.5 km access road not better than DOABLE with our VW Kombi. Last 200 m down to the beach are the worst as of April 2019. Looks like the conditions depend very much on the rainfall.

Beautiful sandy beach, absolutely quiet. No rubbish. We stayed 2 nights.
Access road: approx. 2 km, good gravel road, with moderate gradient and two tight turns. The gradient should not be a problem for any rig, but the tight turns might force you to manoeuver. We would not go down when it’s raining, because it gets slippery and the last section to the beach is very exposed to rock fall and landslides.
the “restaurant” down at the beach is more a bar with shady seating area. The weekend before Christmas it was still closed, but they were in preparation process for the season.

Police at nearby checkpoint said it was safe to camp here. Had restaurant and bathrooms, and the family is lovely. They are here through Easter (not sure when the open for the year), and live in Ilo the rest of the year. We had a very chill, enjoyable night here. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night. No one else was around. Nice view of the ocean. No restaurant. 2 primitive toilets. Drive was fairly easy in our big rig.
