Latest Check-Ins

$80 pp to get in
$50 pp to camp for the night. Bathrooms and access to the river, very convenient.
Waking up early (6am) to start the hike at 7am is the best decision we took, to avoid tourists.
Enchanting place to be all alone in.

Report Check-In

As described by others - overnight parking on the lower, bus parking lot. Flat and bathrooms close by. We paid 50 Pesos for camping and had a quiet night. We did a first hike up to the Mirador on the afternoon we arrived and a second one then to the top of the waterfalls the next morning. Each time we had a nice swim afterwards to cool us down. Beautiful place and definitely worth a stop.

Report Check-In

Camped in the lower flat lot, not the sloping one by the beginning of the hiking and buildings, and we were all alone. Stayed for two nights as we enjoyed swimming in the pools that are right by this camping area. We hiked the trail to the top of the many, many falls at 6:30 am when it was cool, quiet, and we could watch the sun eventually peeking over the ridge line. We were all alone. Hiked back down after 9am and swam and hung out all day. Bathrooms are clean and open all day and night. 80 pesos per person for entrance and 50 per person for each night of camping. Kids under 6 are free.

Report Check-In

Arrived sunset on Monday. Paid $80 entrance plus $50 pp camping fee. Only car in parking lot. Did the hike at 630am and swam a bunch, only passed three groups on my way back at 845am. Come 9am, the first tour bus pulled in (and parked right next to me in an empty lot 😅), so I peaced outta there.

I imagine this hike is not fun during the day with crowds. There are vendors lining the whole trail… it’s that kind of place. The waterfalls are gorgeous though, so if you want to enjoy it in peace, do what Sasha recommended below.

A few spots to swim that are great. Dog friendly. Mine was off leash the whole time and nobody said anything.

Report Check-In

Was happy we chose this side of the park to visit. Lots of swimming, picnic areas and beverages to buy on the way up. Beautiful views. We slept in the parking lot for 50 pesos and it was nice and shaded. If you do, make sure you visit the park before it opens at 8am to get the entire place to yourself - it was so much more magical that way. It was quite crowded during the day when we went but it was semana Santa. Bathrooms in the parking lot but there was no hose for water - it was taped up. Take the first right that you see for El Chiflon to get here.

Report Check-In

Flat area to camp. Quiet at night. Room for many rigs. Camping was 50 pesos per person. Toilets are a bit further up the road. Entrance 80 per person. Waterfalls are spectacular!

Report Check-In

Good spot to visit the falls, everything is paved. Price change for 2023
entrance 80 pesos per person
camping 50 pesos per person

Report Check-In

None of these pins are in the right spot for the campsite on this side of the waterfall, but this one is at the entrance. It is obvious where to park once you get in the entrance.

Entrance + camping for one person was 80 pesos. Main parking lot is slanted, but truck parking down the hill is flat. Tent camping is along the river, a bit of a walk from the parking area. Very crowded/small sites, I am the only one tent camping but until everyone went home around 5:30pm it was very not private. Tent sites are directly off main trail across from snack bar. Flush toilets and cold showers available. 1 bar of 3g Telcel, no wifi in camping area.

Report Check-In

We had to pay 50 pesos per person for camping.

Report Check-In

Nice place to spend the night and to visit the waterfall. We had to pay 200 pesos to the security for two persons for one night camping and the waterfalls.
The toilets are clean and open all night and it’s very quiet. We filled our water tank at the water tap next to the toilet.

Report Check-In

Great spot to visit the place without anyone during the evening or early morning. You can park all the way up near the entrance, IOverlander spot is a little before. They let you enjoy the place as much as you want if you camp. Toilets with paper, wifi near the entrance.
50 pesos pp to enter and 35pesos pp to camp

Report Check-In

Spend one night here. It’s 50 pesos person to see the waterfall and 35 pesos per person to overnight on the grass parking lot.
There are some toilets and a tap to refill your water tank for free.
Big rig and dog friendly.
3 bars of 3G to 1 bar of 4G telcel. There is some free wifi where you buy your ticket to overnight (just ask the guard and he will give you some access)

nice parking overnight at the 1st car park next to football pitch, loads of shade, calm night, 25 mxn pp to Campo, 50 to visit
waterfall, very nice

Report Check-In

Great stay here, we were the only ones around for 2 nights. Go into the falls park early and you’ll have it to yourselves for a few hours, tour buses show up around 10am, but it still wasn’t too crowded (Wednesday). Lots of picnic tables with bbq grills just inside the entrance beside the river.
Also wanted to add that the lower parking lot has two spots for smaller vehicles if you go down, right beside the river. They have little picnic areas. Only advise going there if the weather is dry, the road down turned to sticky deep mud when it rained, even a 4x4 might struggle to get back up. Otherwise you can park at the top there and walk your stuff down to the river 20m for a pleasant evening!
It rained quite a bit while we were here and the water shifted from blue to browny, but still the falls were amazing! Enjoy!

Report Check-In

After reading all the reviews, we decided to visit this side of El Chiflon, which gets a bit closer to Velo de Novia than the opposite side. Wow!! The most impressive series of waterfalls I’ve EVER seen, with impossibly blue water & so many places to explore. Make sure to continue hiking past Velo de Novia to see the final 2 falls— only about 10% of people continued on this steep trail, so it was really quiet at the top & the views were AMAZING!!

Arrived at 5.30pm & paid for the entry bracelets (50p/person), then drove a short distance to the lower parking lot & easily found a flat, comfortable spot to camp in our van. It’s a quick walk up to the main carpark from here, which is where you can pay for camping (35p/person) & get a little receipt to show the security guard. We checked out the river that evening (they will let you use the bracelet for both days if you’re camping; site closes 6/6.30pm) and then went in for a proper explore around 8am the following morning. Definitely allow at least 6hrs, there’s so much to see and do here!!

Report Check-In

Still 35 MXN pp/night to camp in the parking lot + 50 MXN pp to enter the park with the waterfalls. Note the other side of the falls is a different park marked by other iOverlander spots.

Report Check-In

To add, there is a tap outside the toilets. You can cannot your hose, we measured the water at 185ppm the locals would drink it. But good for washing up and showers etc.
The other descriptors describe this place accurately.

Report Check-In

We arrived after dark 6:20, they close at 5 but let us in to camp. The rv camping is up in the normal parking lot. Camping 35 per person plus 50 per person to see the falls the next day. It is worth it.

Report Check-In

Spent 2 nights. Everything as described still. Beautiful waterfall, but no good swimming as of now. Brown water maybe cause of rains. Still nice to be around nature. Good singing birds by the lower parking lot. Shower is 400m inside the park, but restrooms are at the parking.

Report Check-In

Overnight camping at the lower parking lot. The upper parking lot is on a hill and impossible to camp unless you like to sleep tilted. Open during CONVID.

Report Check-In

Overnight parking at the lower parking lot of the really great Cascada de Chiflon. This is one of the best waterfalls in Mexico with great swimming in the 21°C turqoise water. Camping is 35 Peso p.P., visitig the falls is 50 Peso p.P.

Report Check-In

nice and quiet, nice walk to the waterfalls. plenty of space to park, almost flat. other parking lot further up is not flat. btw the tyrolesa seems to be nicer on the other side !

Report Check-In

great place to stay before visiting the waterfalls which are really worth a stop. we stayed in the truck parking. we were the only ones there. was super quiet. access to washrooms no seats but has paper.

Report Check-In

Very convenient parking at the entrance of the falls.
The bus parking where we stayed is flat. We. were the only one but could use toilets open all night.
Paid 35 pesos per person for camping.

Report Check-In

30p per peson to enter site (green bracelet). 35 per person to camp with our truck camper in the lower (level) parking lot (to your left before reaching the main area), quiet night only ones around.
Very beautiful waterfalls. We were able to take our 2 little dogs up with us. Quite a lot of stairs up to the top but the view is gorgeous! We went up right at 0800 and we were the only ones there.
Ziplines available for 150-200pesos depending on the length of the line.
Baños with flush toilets and toilet paper available throughout park. One cold shower available in the right side of the mens bathroom hut by the upper parking lot. Did not check the wifi situation.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night in the upper car park. No problems. Quiet. There is 3g here plus wifi if you buy a drink at the restaurant

Report Check-In

We stayed here as it was less expensive that the other side to camp.
We spent the night at the first parking (the further) which is the less crowded and calm during the evening. You only have toilets but you can walk for 5 minutes and have the showers.
The site is extremely crowded. Don't expect to be the only here. But it's true that it's nice to see even if your are around 1 millions others tourists! 😋

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Tente seulement.

Report Check-In

We chose to stay at the second area that is only 25p per person to camp. We stayed in our camper in the very uneven lot by the bathrooms. We had no trouble leveling our truck out with near by rocks. There is a shower, and the bathrooms are clean. 30 p per person for entrance to park. The hike to the very top is quite the hike! In a good for you way. Our dog was aloud everywhere!!

Report Check-In

With all the rain, the waterfalls are swollen. Paid 50p to stay in flat area in lower east lot. Showers are at upper lot. And one shower stall working in stall as part of men's restroom.

Report Check-In

We stayed on the east (south) side, aka Velo De Novia. Keep in mind that there is a very similar place directly on the other side of the river and so the reviews are a mix of both places.

Parked for the day and did the waterfall walk, which is worthwhile. Approx 30 MXN pp to enter the area which gives you access to the falls path for one day only.

We parked in the main lot, closest to the walk entrance. The parking guy said we could park overnight - they never collected any money so it was free for us. The lot is very sloped but we were able to make it flat with 4 plastic jacks.

Seems safe although there were a few vans arriving or leaving during the night.

Report Check-In

dogs allowed. water was brown when i was there. not a fan since it is soooo touristy.

Report Check-In

Beautiful and well maintained! Camped 1 night in upper lot near entrance and restrooms/showers. (TP/soap/most have seats). $25pp camping + $30pp entrance. The upper lot is not as level as lower but there are rocks you can drive up on to level out. It was hot but being able to wake up and be first into the cascadas makes it so worthwhile!

Report Check-In

Accidentally stayed at Cascadas Velo de Novia just to the east of El Chiflon (on the opposite side of the river). It was 30 pesos per person admission and 50 pesos per person for camping. There were flush toilets and a restaurant, hammocks and designated tent camping near the river, vehicle camping is in the dirt parking lot (not very level). Very friendly staff.

Report Check-In

Very popular with the locals. Kinda a thematic park. 30p a person to enter park and 25p a person to camp. No charge for the dog. Camping is in the children's playground so the mornings are very noisy and a bit of a walk from the car. Beautiful spot with some awesome hikes to 5 waterfalls. But just k ow it is very popular with the locals. Who have no concept of personal camp space. When we set up at night we were the only ones but when we woke up we could barley exit our tent because there were so many other tent that were literally on top of us. We did see others camping by the river but the ground there is very hard and uneven so a pad is recommended

Report Check-In

Camped at the Chiflon parking lot by the park entrance. 25 pesos per person. Entrance to the waterfall is 30 pesos per person. Nice clean restrooms. No showers. Really quite.

Report Check-In

We stayed 4 nights in total at the Vela de la Novia complex. It was 50 pesos per person per night for a really nice tent camping spot by the river. You also pay 30 pesos per person for entry at this complex. The staff were super friendly and helpful. In particular Gabriela at reception helped us make numerous phone calls to sort out a pick up for our broken down motorbike. Facilities were clean and there was free (though slow) wifi by the restaurant. The best thing of all: hammocks!

Report Check-In

Be careful, there are actually 2 different complexes here, one on each side of the river. Almost identical in layout and facilities, but the Velo Novia complex on the west side charges 50pesos per person for camping, where as the other side its 25pp. with no bathroom or electric facilities. The grounds were super clean and inviting and the staff really friendly, although the reception chick lied and said there was no where else in the area with camping. Breakfast in the restaurant was really good, best tortillas in mexico. If you want to do the zipline, the one on the east side looks better.

Report Check-In

Basic parking lot camping at an amazing set of water falls. The lot closer to the falls(near the restrooms) isn't as level as the lot for busses and trucks at the bottom of the hill. The restaurant is decent (plenty of beer) and the restrooms were clean, and kind of had toilet seats. The tent camping is really nice for the same price as camping in the parking lot. Entrance fee was 30p per person and camping was 25p per person. Cabanas on the river are 450p.

Report Check-In

Level parking lot, just after the entrance to the falls. Park entry 30 peso per person camping 25 peso per person. Power would be possible with a long cord from the bathroom. Much nicer spots are available at the same cost to tent campers, bathrooms there include shower.

Report Check-In

Parking in Camiones lot, near all the waterfalls. Bathroom, running water, and electric included in entrance fee. 30 MXN/person entrance PLUS 25 MXN/person/night to camp. Super quiet, great place for a night.

Report Check-In

Overnight camping included in day use. Beautiful waterfalls. We camped at the "camiones" parking lot across from the soccer field. There's restrooms at this parking area; water faucet; electricity in the restrooms with long cable.

Report Check-In

Camp site at the huge waterfall. They have a nicer area for tent campers. We just stayed in the overflow lot. 25 pesos per person.

Report Check-In

The actual campsite at the falls is not accessible by car. We stayed on the bus parking overlooking the river. At night it was very quiet. Public toilets are at the parking lot.

(The price is made up of 20 pesos / person park entrance and 25 pesos / person for camping)
