Great place by the lake. volcanic beach. two rivers flow in on either side. to access you have to drive into S-895 (away from lake) off the main road and then after some 50m turn steep left down towards the river. follow the river down to the lake. big rigs can definitely reach the last "parking" before the lakefront. locals down here with normal cars. but i would advise 4x4 for beach access. see pics as well. enjoy!

the access was closed with twigs probably by locals

Report Check-In

Great and safe place to stay. At 8pm all locals are gone and you have the beach to yourself. when walking 1 min on the right you see the volcano. Be caution not to park on the sand and to be able to go up the steep section at the beginning of the road. We almost got stuck with our Mitsubishi L300.

Report Check-In

During peak season this place is full of people. At night a few locals are camping but during the day it is super full. Se stayed here but didnt enjoyed it.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay, lots of different spots. We came with a campervan and a small tent. In the evening there were some fisherman, but during the night we were alone!

As mentioned in other comments, turn away from the lake (right turn if coming from Villarrica, left turn if coming from Pucón) onto a dirt road and from there a left turn on a steep road down (take the second one), follow the river to the beach (1 minute only).

lugar lindo, calmo, limpo.
celular pega bem e agua corrente do rio
estou muito feliz por poder passar o reveillon aqui!

With the description in one of the comments it’s easy to find. Really nice spot at the lake with several spots to tuck away a bit. We drive a Mercedes Vito van and it was raining (quite a lot <20mm), but it was not a problem to drive to the spots covered by the trees at the lake side. It was windy, but not at our spot as the trees stopped the wind. But when the wind comes from the lake it might be windy here. We stayed from Wednesday to Thursday and when we arrived (7:30pm) there were only a few fishermen that left within 30 minutes. But at 1am and 5:30am locals arrived and stayed for an hour or so at the beach. The first ones with some music, but nothing too disturbing.
Great place on a great location!

Report Check-In

Really nice spot near Pucon. Really remote, just some very friendly fisherman. Right next to the beautiful lake and lookout over the mountains. Just a 10 minute drive to Pucon. Stayed here for 6 nights because we needed some car fixings done.

Report Check-In

Great spot by the lake. The road to get there is rocky but the spot is beautiful and rather quiet.

Report Check-In

Easy to find with the written directions. A bit of a steep hill down from the road to the river bed, but many of the basic local cars were doing it fine. May be hard to get to the beach if it’s been raining a lot. Beautiful location though with tons of space. We drove from the main area to the left (facing the lake), and there there was space for many vehicles, some sheltered from trees. Very flat as well. No direct access to the lake since there’s a stream running between the lake and the parking area. Lovely place to spend the night

Report Check-In

Very Nice place ! Follow the direction or you would not be able to find it.

Report Check-In

great spot, many locals but very friendly. totally quiet at night. we stayed 2 nights. No problems with our Truck 6m long and 3,15 high

See my describtion above...................

Report Check-In

follow the description and you would arrive a beach with plenty of space.
I drove a 4*4 camper van with 2.5m height, no issues at all

Report Check-In

Good description, otherwise hard to find. The first bit down is a bit steep, but we still managed with a 2W Van and muddy weather. If you drive till the end of the gravel road till the beach there are plenty of spots to stand. Top stop near Pucón! Recommended!

Report Check-In

The place is nice. There are a few people during the day, a few comings and goings in the evening, but nothing dramatic. A drunk person leaned against our car but seemed more frightened than us when we saw him. Nothing bad. There are small trees for shade, and a nice river that flows into the lake. Accessible for any vehicle, but be careful not to go too far on the beach without a 4x4.

Report Check-In

We spended two nights here. Locals leave very late at the evening. Second night some fishermans came in the middle of night and left after 2 hours. Lot of rubbish, but nice views and sound of the rivers (clear water). Entel mobile signal.
After second night, we stayed whole day because of rain. Around 10am a guy come to us and said he is just checking his property and we did not even have time to ask for permission and he said it's ok, we can stay here "no problemo". We were just wondering why he has a rifle on his shoulder. Two stray dogs make us a company the whole stay.

Report Check-In

Very nice place! Just follow the indications to find it. It's a bit bumpy, but no problem with our 2WD van. Less crowded than Pucon beach but still a lot on people on the weekends. We were all alone in the morning until 1PM and at night after 9PM. During the day it was full and our neighbors liked boom box music... So if you like your quiet, come early or late, especially during holidays! We spent one hour to clean up our spot... Apart from that, the lake is pretty cool, you can see Villarrica volcano if you walk a bit on the beach and there's also two small rivers if you need water.

Report Check-In

quiet spot, no facilities, beautiful view and sunset

Report Check-In

Nice place with plenty of people on a Saturday evening. Only a handful stayed overnight. Lots of trees offer many private corners

Report Check-In

we slept here for one night. There were many locals enjoying the evening, lots of families and children, so no partying going on. It was very quiet at night and hardly no rubbish with lots of signs asking visitors to keep it clean. We felt comfortable and safe and would recommend it.

Hi mi mame is Iván i'm the new manager of the free wildcamping for overlanders i love There allí the time ask for a free place and tourist información

Report Check-In

Wow what a spot, absolutely perfect. No litter at all, the locals have cleaned it all up and we were asked to keep area clean. We have had the place to ourselves. No trouble at all just friendly locals giving us local information and a few people fishing for salmon.
Note when turning off down to the track to the beach, the first turning is about 20m is steep and rutted, go to second slope to the track 30m further. Easy for 2wd to access to get down hill.

Report Check-In

A magnificent place to observe the sunset. A bit noisy by the road. When we arrived there were many decets. We cleaned the area as could be. Super for the tent this place :)

FR - un lieu magnifique pour observer le couché de soleil. Un peu bruyant par la route. Quand nous sommes arrivés il y avait beaucoup de dechets. On a nettoyé la zone comme on pouvait. Super pour la tente ce lieu :)

Report Check-In

Checked out this place first and then decided to stay on the public beach a few meters to the left, since we thought the spot at the end of Playa los Chilcos was nicer for two cyclists (no car access). Access possible from the street or pushing your bicycle through the river (not deep at all). We stayed in March and had the whole beach for ourselves after sunset.

Report Check-In

As described, lovely beach and lots of waste at parking lot. Yet in high season it’s difficult to find a place for our Motorhome because there are thousands of locals at the beach. But during the night quiet. Ok for a night.
Please note: the way to get here is very bad, for the short drive down to river it’s better to use 4x4

Report Check-In

Great and quiet spot in front of the lake. quite clean! A fisherman came to greet us.

Report Check-In

I went there one more time, thinking I'd enjoy a quiet time as I used to. This place is a dump, it smells bad, bottles, cans and condoms everywhere. Camping at Salto Claro or find a spot on the road to the volcano is much more enjoyable

Report Check-In

Great Place to park up and enjoy the views of the lake and possibly spend a couple of nights. Unfortunately like said before a lot of rubbish left in places.. Please look after nature and take what you bring in.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot at the beach. More trash on the track getting to the beach and a bit on the beach itself. Very quiet and only a few fishermen in the afternoon and early morning.
UPDATE: At around noon the police showed up and told us that vehicles are prohibited on the beach. Maybe you can camp a bit further back from the shore but not sure. The parking lot itself is not really beautiful and good visible from the road.

Report Check-In

we stayed here for 2 nights. Nice place with a beautifull view over the lake. we were able to go with our van beside the lake but watch out if you go left there because we got stuck there in the sand :) luckily we had some help of a fishermen and got out. locals regularly stop by which is not a problem. The negative thing for us was that during the second night some locals stopped there during the middle of the night and played very loud music

Report Check-In

Great place with awesome views of the lake. There’s two rivers with clear water and we even get water for our Motorhome. Any rig size can get there, but the bigger ones must park 50m before the lake. The downside is that there’s trash everywhere. We saw this a lot in Argentina an Chile. Please, take your trash with you or people will start closing places like this.

nice free spot for lunch on the lakefront. Can drive right onto sand if got 4wd. quite a lot of rubbish everywhere but beautiful views
