10usd for dorm. slightly outside of the city, but I liked the vibe and the owner, even though there was no WiFi, no hot water, and the some parts of the place looked like they weren't not finished.

Honest review... Had the intention to provide a positive recommendation as agreed with the staff. However. This place is appaling. It seemed nice as we entered as it is build in a funky way with lots of space to hang around.
BUT as we handed over the money we found out that there was no water at all! We had to ask for water in dirty 5l bottles for shower, no water in the toilet and no water to wash hands. There were bottles with water from unknown source in the kitchen that we didnt dare to use not to get food poisoning from not fresh and probably already contaminated water.
Place like that should be shut down if does not meet the essentail needs of a customer.
Price for chalet with a stone hard bed was 200kwacha for 2 people, this was after negotiation, originaly 300kw. but before we found out that there will be no water. no internet, no bar and no restaurant also, well there was no bloody water.
Bush camping would be free with the same facilities :)
staff was welcoming but we didnt enjoy our stay at all.

This place seem to be more a building site than a campsite. There was no water for our entire stay, we were the only people at the site so zero atmosphere, matress in our chalet was so bad that we had feelining we slept on the floor. No wi fi even we were told there is wi fi. Owner only said there is no water once we paid him money.

Zinga Backpackers is an amazing hostel with nice family vibe and relaxed atmosphere. There's kitchen for the guests, BBQ, bonfire, space to camp and park the car, bar with friendly staff and affordable prices (only $5 for camping, $8 for a car with rooftop tent). It's also walkable distance from town centre and there's a market close by.

Really Cheap and awesome Backpacker Hostel. We paid 5$ per person for a 4 bed shared room (booked via hostelworld). Could Park the bikes inside also, maybe they'll let you park your car inside too, there is space. The pool is a little rainwater dirty, but the showers are hot. Kitchen for Guest use, and Backpacker atmosphere. Really friendly owner!
