Four meters narrow road next 30 kms (heading north from this point) ... Beautiful protected area, but you have to go very carefully and no large rigs allowed

don't expect to go faster then 30km for the next 37km or to be able to pass the slow Sunday drivers. nice views. most of the asphalt is only 3m wide with dirt shoulders to leapfrog around on coming cars. if you were 3 meters wide I wouldn't come down here, but otherwise you should be fine. if you have made it this far on the pan-am then you're probably pretty comfortable with the size of your rig.
Report Check-InNice road. I took it from the North towards Salta and glad I did. The only traffic was oncoming. No-one behind trying to get past in cars, which might have been annoying. It is very winding, and in a truck camper I felt a bit oversized, but if you aren't in a rush (definitely take the highway if you are), and are prepared to go sloooooow, like really slow, and pull over to let cars pass, then it's fine. There was the occasional fallen branch, landslide in the road so take care. To clarify, the surface is 4m wide, but for the most part there is a dirt edge to put two wheels on if necessary (careful in the wet that you don't bog down), and the occasional full sized lay-by to stop in if you want.
Report Check-InSame as everyone else has said. Not sure this is big rig friendly. Very narrow, windy roads. Today, lots of people riding bicycles as well as many in regular cars. Still, we thought it was pretty and a breath of fresh air after our time in the Chaco region.
Report Check-InI have to disagree with the previous comment: for us it was definitly worth the funny drive through this beautiful landscape :) just a few cars and you feel like driving through the jungle!
Report Check-InThis road is so beautiful! After coming from the Atacama Desert it was really refreshing to see a lot of green. It‘s very narrow, curvy and overgrown. Was no problem with our small campervan, but it could be exhausting with a big rig - if the police let‘s you pass through the checkpoint.
Report Check-In"Like a bicycle part" is the perfect description! We drove on Sunday morning and it was very tranquil, only few cars driving north from Salta and nobody driving south to Salta. It got much more busy on the road starting midday.
Report Check-InFor sure this is a narrow windy road, but we are in a 7m long, 2.20wide French campervan and it was fine, we were not stopped at police checks.
Report Check-InVery fun road for smaller rigs. The narrowest part is those tight turns you can see on your navigation north of this point. Paved, very windy and so narrow - it is a little like driving your car on a bicycle path :) popular with the city folk on a weekend drive, so expect slow people you can't pass.
