We spend the night here while visited the reserve. Rangers are super friendly. We paid 10 soles and ended up staying two night for that price. The night sky was really beautiful! Pretty cold but what else can you expect at 4000 meters.

Report Check-In

We arrived at sunset and asked to pass the night and use the bathrooms. No problem, no charge. In the morning we

Report Check-In

We checked it out, 15 soles for the night to park your motorhome in the yard, with freezing cold showers and toilets. Owners were friendly, you must sign your details in. We chose to keep driving to stay at the toll point as the altitude is lower, a warm lounge area, toilets and free. Recommend to keep driving to Peaje Pampa Galeras for the night.

Report Check-In

Great to stop over on the way between Nazca and Cusco. Beware it’s on 4000m so it’s getting chilly at night and if you’re coming from the coast you’re not acclimatized.

You can park in the yard right in front of the buildings to be a little bit more sheltered from the wind.

It started raining in the evening so we found shelter in the big showers/toilet cabin to cook dinner.

I wonder if anyone was ever brave enough to try the cold showers :D

Report Check-In

Excelente punto para pasar la noche seguros y cómodos. Con servicio de baño, duchas y un area natural en protección; donde se puede observar Vicuñas.

Report Check-In

Museum no longer free, 30s per person. We didn’t go but they offered the two of us a room for 20s. People are still lovely and was a great place to stop after the last chunky climb to the coast!

Report Check-In

It’s free. But it doesn’t mean you won’t give these guys a tip.

Report Check-In

Very nice stop! Careful with altitude if you leave the coast straight to here, as it’s 4000m high here. Super calm day and night, clean toilets, cold showers and even a free musuem.

Report Check-In

Very beautiful Pampa landscape with a great museum to make a guided visit from the local rangers.

Report Check-In

Camped here after spending a beautiful day exploring the museum, the pampa and the condors.

Report Check-In

Very good, safe and clean place. We visited the museum with Juan (the Rangers). You have water, toilet and shower (but so cold and the weather is not too hot).

You have a little « bodega » and restaurant at the front at Ada, amazing peruvian woman (50 years old) who invited us to made the fiesta for her birthday...amazing night !

Report Check-In

As described by others for overnight. We slept in camper and a cyclist arrived and stayed in a free room. Nice folks here. We arrived around 1:00pm and then went to spot condors at 4:30. We drove the ranger in our truck. It was fantastic and free. ( we tipped 30s and shared coffee and sandwiches in the morning) See comments on touristic listing at same location.

Report Check-In

Amazing and safe place to stay on the way to Nazca or Cusco.
Today’s ranger was Juan, very nice gentlemen.
Car can be parked were ever suits. Enough space for big rigs.
Facility has clean cold showers, toilets.
Juan even offered us to stay in one of their rooms.
Gets quite cold at night, around -5 degrees.
Very comfortable, quiet and safe.
No phone reception.
Safe travels

Report Check-In

Really nice place. We stayed in our van for free but gave a 10 soles propina for the museum tour. Very nice people, lots of vicuñas around. Like other posters said: it gets very cold so come prepared! We parked behind a wall, right from the museum when facing it to have some shelter from the wind. We needed some gasoline and the lady from one of the small restaurants/shops across the street sold us one gallon.

Report Check-In

This is place is great! The volunteers are very nice, we went to see a baby Vicuña to give her milk it was so cute. They keep her in a room during the night because there is pumas! But no worry they are scared of humans. Everything was free, toilets, shower and even kitchen if you need. At night it was very cold. We recommend this place!

Report Check-In

Good spot for one night you can visit the museum for free. They have toilets and showers. Not sure if there are warm or cold. Unfortunately they don’t have baby viguñas ;)
All for free!

Report Check-In

Awesome museum and vincuña reserve. Incredible staff with a super informative presentation, all in Spanish. We saw a baby vincuña and even got spit on by one! Didn't stay here but they said no problem if we wanted to. Definitely worth a stop!

Report Check-In

Not stay for free now from 2018 they said

Report Check-In

You can stay for a night or 2. Really basic bed with loads of blankets to keep warm during the winter nights. Get to see Vicunas and feed them. There is cold shower but I bet you won't use them in this freezing climate.

Report Check-In

Beautiful. We saw vicunas, a type of Wild lanas and chinchilla. You can stay for free, place for 60 people. There would be many places to visit in the area, a condor viewpoint, waterfall and ancestral wall paintings. And tge baby vicunja :)

Report Check-In

Wonderful stop! We got to see the baby vicuña - so sweet! They have bathrooms and cold showers (it’s so cold you won’t use it). Tough to sleep at this elevation coming from Nasca. Get some coca tea! The ranger can take to you see condors in the morning, but they were so far away we couldn’t see them. Only an hour or so and worth it for a chance to see them. Some road noise, but nothing compared to the altitude! Worth a stop for sure even if you don’t camp here.

Report Check-In

nice spot for a night. the ranger was very friendly and let us feed one if the baby animals. it was VERY cold. ice everywhere in the morning.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

very nice place. Only the veterinary Milly was here, we shared our dinner with her and had lots of fun (also with the animals!). However the shower were freezing cold (staff have their own solar heated shower but seems it's not for the public) and we cooked in our van.

Report Check-In

Amazing how this place is free. We are able to use the toilets, showers and view the museo. Welcomed by the lovely little vacunas as an added bonus! Also able to use a bedroom for the night if you wish. Very Very cold at night.

Report Check-In

Bello lugar para conocer más sobre los animales de la zona. Hay un museo con visita guiada gratuita. Hay baños. Y lo más lindo hay dos vicuñas rescatadas y que se dejan tocar. La atención es muy buena.

Report Check-In

Omg this place is exactly what we needed. Perfect for cyclists, beds, kitchen, baños and water (all free) all in the middle of nowhere. Arrived exhausted after riding 70km with a virus, was helped by the staff to a room and some tea. Bonus: the two resident baby vicuñas are super cute and friendly

Report Check-In

Excellent place for the night. We stayed in the rooms they had available at it was pretty cold up there. The room was great, lots of blankets, clean bathroom and comfy beds. As mentioned already this is all free! we checked out the museum and it was very interesting, you should too...don't just use them for their kind hospitality and disappear the next day. Also there is a chance to see condors around here, ask the staff if they've seen any.

Report Check-In

Great place to spend the night, especially after the big hills from Cusco. We slept in the kombi, but there are beds they will let you sleep in as well. Clean toilets and interesting museum. A great stop all around 👍

Report Check-In

Good place to stay. This place is Nacional Park. The offered us a room with bath and hot shower. There's a museum with a lot information about Vicuña. Worth a tour. All is free. There is a kitchen that can be used with hot water.

Report Check-In

Excelent place to spend the night. Very friendly volunteers that will show you the museum. Hot showers. Everything for free. The unic cons is the extreme cold.

Report Check-In

As described, a very nice place to spend a night, we parked our van in a inner court to protect ourselves from the cold wind. Very nice volunteers even proposed us a room because nights are indeed freezing cold. At the time we were here there was a baby vicuña running around free in the complex, which we took photos with, really cute! Next morning we visited the small museum with a volunteer explaining us a lot about the local fauna.
There are clean toilets and running water for cooking. All for free, we were really happy with this spot, thanks for sharing!

Report Check-In

We are coming from sea level so decided to suffer a night of acclimatization pain whilst enjoying the stunning scenery of the reserve. Originally we didn't stay exactly at the buildings, but chose a spot 1km to the west where there is a gorgeous little pullout by a stream. It's only about 50m from the road, but super tranquil and the vicunas came over and check us out. But on sunset the police came and moved us to here - it's prohibited to camp anywhere else in the reserve.

It's been ages since we have been in the high pampa and this place is a great reminder of why we loved it so much! Totally free.

Report Check-In

Really nice place, they gave me a room where I could rest, and offered me a tour to the museum the next morning. There are also bathrooms in the complex.

Report Check-In

Great spot to stop over. extremelly cold, but if you wish you could stay in one of the room available for free!. just ask at the museum...

Report Check-In

Free. Very nice local university students, who volunteer here. Cold at night due to the high altitude (about 4000m). Toilet, shower didn't work. You can even get a room. Nice museum. Everything for free.

Report Check-In

Pulled in for sunset and worked out well for a quick night.

Report Check-In

This place was a great place to stop. There was a nice biologist volunteer that took us to the museo in the morning and taught us all there is to know about picunas (and a bit about alpacas and llamas).

Report Check-In

We parked behind some of the buildings here near the river to get away from the road noise. Just be warned: this is at about 12,800 feet so be careful if you are coming from sea level. Not a bad spot to break up the drive to Cusco. Free. Very peaceful at night.

Report Check-In

Great place to stop on the way to Cusco. Friendly staff didn't mind that we parked there for the night to rest. No services.

Report Check-In

Good overnight place, quiet, no infrastructure. Free
