was there for pizza and craft beer from huaraz - excellent! bit more expensive then usually, but pizza also bigger then the usual 'personal' size (paid 47 for both)
music was a good mix, the waitress turned down when it was getting fuller
best thing: you can rent outdoor equipment for mountaineering and buy gas canisters for gas stoves (otherwise hard to get in peru)
so all in all a place worth visiting, felt very comfortable and welcome there
I have to add one more thing here... I mentioned to the woman in charge that 80% of the jar was foam from the egg whites and that the drink was really only for 1 person and therefore extremely expensive. She wasn't happy with the criticism. She isn't very nice at all... she simply wants tourists to pay and leave. So I walked over to a nearby restaurant called El Café De Bolívar and they poured me a larger and better Pisco Sour for only 10 Soles... this is how Pisco Sour should be.
Report Check-InIt's a bit expensive. The Pisco Sour is delicious... but they deceive you by selling them as 1/2 liter or 1 liter jars... the 1/2 liter has 4 shots of pisco and the 1 liter has 8 shots. As a cyclist... I want my drinks strong... and this 1/2 liter is basically 1 normal drink at any Peruvian bar. I was dissatisfied paying 16 Soles for this drink. It sounds like a lot... a 1/2 liter... BUT 80% of the jar is filled with foam from the whipped egg whites... So it's only a 1 serving drink. Too expensive for this drink. Also the pizza is too expensive. I didn't eat anything here. It seems like it's an Expat Business with European/American prices for everything. Just because your clientele come from a wealthy country... DOESN'T mean that you need to overcharge us. We all don't have endless supplies of money.
Report Check-InClosed Sunday evening. Opens at 6 pm others.
Report Check-InGreat pizza! Cool atmosphere. The De Rat pizza hit the spot for me.
Report Check-InDecent pizza for the price, though there isn't exactly much competition in Caraz. 20 soles and up for pizza, 10 soles and up for cocktails.
Report Check-InGreat pizzas & breakfast + other food (awful music!). Slow service but worth it. Only seems to be open in evening. Ring bell outside for access. WiFi & books. Quirky.
