We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Got it for free. Spend about 10 mins discussing with the gentleman. He tries to pocket some money for himself, I think. 5k CFA to be precise. In the end, he said, its a "gift" by him. I don't believe he has the authority to gift the money that belongs to the Senegalese people to a tourist like me and I told him so.
There were two pages of DINA 4, with some stamps, glued to the door of the his office. It mentioned something about 5k CFA. I was permitted to take a picture, but screwed up with the dark light. Its very blury. Might try to upload it later. I had no time to translate it all. I just asked for a receipt. He stapled a receipt with 5k CFA onto my passavant. However, the bottom half with the signature was missing. (It was similar to the small receipt that you get at the Diama border (2500 CFA in that case.). I explained that I won't accept a receipt without his signature and returned the broken receipt to him. After another 5 min of arguing he asked me to leave :-)
BTW, he didn't ask for my passport or any other ID. So if you need a second stamp and think he will refuse, you might try to send your friend or spouse ;-)
It was also interesting to see that he was aware of the 'scheme' at the Diama border with the Zargane 'company'. He even new and told me the price they ask there: 250 EUR and said he wasn't happy about it.
Report Check-InWent for motorcycle passavant extension. during stamping he told me it is 2500cfa and I refused to pay without a receipt. did not pay. he said that he will not issue me a second stamp if I come back.
Report Check-InGot the stamp, did not have to pay, but had to discuss a little with the person in charge there. He wanted 2500 cfa originally.
Report Check-InThere was a line of people waiting to extend their passavant today. It was all surprisingly orderly and locals helped us know where to sit in line to wait our turn. About 20-30 min wait. Once we got in, the guy said the “normal” price for extension was 100k XAF, but he was happy to see tourists, so that we could give him any price that was in our hearts. We already knew this was supposed to be free, so we gave him a handshake and a big thanks 🙏. We smiled and we left.
Report Check-InThe official said I should have renewed my passavant in St Louis and said he could not renew it unless I paid a fine of 50,000 CFA for my motorcycle. I asked why this is so, but he was quite adamant so I ended up paying for the 15 days extensi
Report Check-InVisited this place today. Waited 45 minutes and got a 15 day extension for free. Passavant had been issued at Rosso for import instead or tourism...absurd...the guy granted the extension exceptionally (usually passavants for import can't be extended apparently). Make sure to get tourism indicated on your passavant when you enter.
Report Check-InSolved in 10', they stamped our passavant in advance of the official deadline for 'tourism purpose'
The guy doesnt speak really good french
yes still same. 4th floor. there is an elevator. small office friendly dude stamped me 15 days didn't ask for anything except if I was a tourist. no fee.
Report Check-InDon't have to come here if you have cpd. Go directly to Customs Dakar with original copy of passavant.
Report Check-InYou can also buy your carte brune here on the ground floor. After some haggling we got 4 months for 19,000 CFA (initially quoted 35000 CFA). We were told price depends on size of vehicle, we drive 1000cc motorbike.
Report Check-InPaid 2500 CFA for 15-day extension. Required photocopy of passavant, which I got for 100 CFA from a small shop North of the building. I asked guy at main desk and he directed me where to go. It's very close.
Report Check-InAXA building, 4th floor. Close between 1 and 3pm. Possible to park but 1000 FCFA.
Very easy and fast process, 10 minutes max, no copy of the passavant needed but just the original and a form to fill in the office.
Officially 2500FCFA for 15 days but as the officer had no receipt he offered it to us!
This is not the place to go if you have a carnet(!!) Go to the other costums at the port.
Report Check-InPassavant renewed today without problem, only ten minutes wait. We have paid nothing. Just remember to bring with you a copy of the passavant.
Report Check-InWe had to bribe the office with 2,000 CFA as the passavant was noted for import not tourism, an obvious scam. There is parking - find a space blocked with a road cone and you can pay the attendant approx 1,000 CFA to use it.
