El Salvador
Very friendly and helpful firemen at the fire station. Grass patch out the back for plenty of tents. 10 mins walk from central plaza. Could use showers and toilets. Large kitchen for cooking. Access to drinking water. Good wifi.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
They wouldn't let me camp there, said there was a new jefe and they don't allow people to camp out the back anymore. Didn't seem very interested in helping me at all, initially they directed me to a very public park next door then when I came and asked a second time they just sent me away
Report Check-InAs described. Still ok. Nothing to add.

we got there around 10am. Admission is $3 p.p. and parking for big rigs $2. Great clear and cool water. Cheap meal $11 for 2 meals and 2 drinks. in the afternoon we asked if we could stay overnight. She asked her boss and we could stay for free. Showers and toilets ok. All very friendly.
Report Check-InGreat spot for cyclo tourists! Only a couple of bomberos here when we were, I think because the jefe wasn’t around we weren’t offered use of the kitchen or showers. But the outdoor sink was more than serviceable for bathing, and we used their table and chairs to make dinner on our stove outside.
Report Check-InAs described. Forgot to ask for wifi so not sure if still available but very friendly, camped with my bike on grass behind station. Not that the bomberos start the day VERY early so be prepared to be woken by them starting to move around.
Report Check-Inarrived with my bike and could stay under the roof, finaly there was a Storm and got a bed with the bomberos in the dormitory. Super friendly ! we went for swimming the next morning at the public pool
Report Check-InGreat place! We’re two cyclists. Slept under roof in the rain because one of their vehicles was under repair. Great kitchen, showers, WiFi! Super friendly staff one of the bomberos got us tamales. BUT! The comandante came in briefly and gave us a fan and was very forward and made me feel uncomfortable with his comments and innuendos. Be on guard OJO
Report Check-Invery nice guys! the place is safe and you can use all their facilities. the chief liked to talk to overlander and don't forget to take the picture!!
Report Check-Ingreat place to stay in Zacatecoluca 👩🚒🚒
very friendly bomberos, they let us stay in the grass with our tent ⛺ , and use the fridge. The supermarket is 400 meters from here.
A nice and safe place to camp. We are cyclists and the bomberos let us pitch our tent in the grassy backyard. We could use their toilet and shower and got some drinking water.
When we met the comandante the next morning, he told us that they are actually thinking of building a shower and sink for the bicycle tourists and overlanders, so that they wouldn't have to cross the bomberos' dormitory to use theirs :)
Camped out back in the huge grassy lawn. Really great spot and felt very safe. Some of the bomberos shared and talked to me during dinner. The WiFi is great but you may need to pull the password off of the back of the router (hanging on the wall in the kitchen). For some reason the water pressure died while I was in the shower so if anyone had been there, they would’ve seen a naked soapy man running between showers trying to get the soap off.
Report Check-InSuper boa onda os bombeiros, conversamos bastante com eles, deixaram a gente estacionar dentro, água potável, boa Internet e super seguro. Recomendamos e grátis.
Report Check-InThese guys are the best!
They welcomed us and our friends and let us park our rigs in the back.
Entry is wide and tall so fit for big rigs.
They gave us access to their bathrooms, showers and kitchen. They also said we could watch TV if we wanted and let us use their computer and scanner to prepare our paperwork for the border.
They are very friendly and love having overlanders here, we shared a cup of coffee and some sweet treats, they showed us their trucks and equipment and we invited them to drink some mates!
They even took us out on the back of their truck to show us around town!
All in all, great experience and a true sample of Salvadorian generosity!
as described. although I did not get the wifi because only the commander has the password and he was not there. i pitched the tent under the roof cause rain season is upon us.
Report Check-InFriendly firemen welcomed me skateboard tourer to camp on their grass pitch and gave me the wifi, showers and kitchen
Report Check-InThe firemen are kind and help us, we’ve did laundry. In a moment we Will take a shower and dinner in the spacious kitchen. They don’t want to pass us the wifi password but you can use the computer
Report Check-Invery friendly bomberos who let us use all the facilities at their station
parking inside the gated yard made us feel safe
Very nice guys who let us park our van next to their truck. We could use their bathroom and shower, and watched tv with them. The chef invited us for coffee and pupusas in the morning! It was our first night in El Salvador and was a great way to know a bit more about the country.
