Something not right?

Description

Trout farm and newly constructed cabanas a few km outside of San Jose Pacifico. Sign along the road. 1.5 km drive downhill through the forest along a dirt road. Not recommended for a big rigs and underpowered vehicles. They have a flat spot right beside one of the cabanas. We payed 50 M$ for the whole family (we are 5 of us), probably same price for less people in the vehicle. We had access to water, toilet and cold shower in the unfinished reception building. So very cheap deal. Very nice and quiet spot in the forest. We didnt ask price for cabanas but they looked nice. Small trout restaurant, we didnt try it.

A really nice spot for the night. As mentioned the drive in and out was intense, the road is very steep, but for reference we made it in our 22ft motorhome. Agree that about 3.5m height clearance should be OK. If you're willing to make the drive it is a lovely peaceful forest in the mountain with lots of bird song. We said we didn't need the bathroom and were only charged 100 pesos. The camping area is by cabin 1, up to the right once you pass the bienvenidos sign. We were able to use the wifi there as well as the hammock attached to the cabin. You could also fill your water tanks here.

We built our tent for two nights and it was a really nice place. Everything is clean and well maintained. We could camp next to a cabana and we had wood for a campfire. The place is in the middle of the forest and super quite. The fish in the restaurant is fresh and delicious.

We paid 200 pesos/night.

100 pesos for the night for our truck and camper to park outside Cabana 1, use of wifi (we didn't use it), and use bathroom and ice cold shower (there were 2 taps and my Spanish is not the best so he may have been trying to tell us how to get hot water and I didn't quite understand).
Road very steep and definitely noticed the two-try turn noted by others. Very beautiful location, quiet, fresh air. Alejo showed us the trout and allowed us to fill our water up as well.

Friendly and very peaceful place. Cabañas look very nice, new and European Alpine style, but they charged 100pesos for 2 of us to park-up in our truck, which is a bit high for what it is. We park-up down near the restaurant where there was reasonable wi-fi until they switched it off at 20:00 hrs. Near the reception cabaña is a bathroom/shower with hot and cold taps, but we didn't use it. We bought some delicious trout straight out of the farm pond and cooked it.

If you have a big rig I recommend 4x4. I wouldn’t drive the dirt road when wet as it is clayey. We drove it with our truck camper (9 tons, 4.2 m wheelbase) without any problems. There is one sharp turn on the way to the trout farm, just reverse a bit and you will get the curve at the second attempt. The “Bienvenido” sign hangs quite low between two trees above the dirt road. I guess something around 3.5 m is the height restriction. The steel cable for the cableway crosses the road in a similar height. We parked in front of Cabaña 1, a leveled and quiet spot. The other possibility is to park further down in front of the restaurant.

This ranch is in the woods with some really beautiful little houses for rent. These houses are modern with a shower, a carmine and nice beds for 150 Pesos/person. You can also camp for 50 Pesos/person infront of the house. The house 3 is the best I guess. There is a very nice zipline(200m) too (70 Pesos/Person). Highly recommend:) The road down is steep, we used our Low Gearbox, because of our small engine.
