We tried to cross this border from Arg to Chile and we’re directed to go back north to Paso Dorotea. They said this border crossing has been closed since May. Not sure if permanently closed.

Report Check-InBorder open only part of the year. it opened on the first of February. we passed in just 5 minutes while there were 5 of us with a converted truck. very fast and the staff is friendly. less passage than the border at paso dorothea next to rio turbio which is only about ten kilometers away. open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. the road is unpaved to town but in good condition.
Report Check-InBorder is permanently closed. Next open border is Cerro Castillo.
Report Check-Inone of the easiest border crossing. We got everything done in 5 minutes and we were 4 people.
Report Check-InVery easygoing Argentinean border crossing friendly customs. If heading to Rio Gallegos the road plugs into the Ruta 40 with a section of about 60-70 km of dirt road which can be very slow going. After that it’s all paved to Rio Gallegos.

Report Check-Inboarder itsself: small, no crowd, not open 24h, gravel road
Aduana officer: one of the most disgusting persons we met in Argentina. permanently drinking, smoking, chewing tobacco...and spitting it on your papers.
other thing: we did not have the correct papers to cross. so we could not cross. but, instead of telling us this, the aduana ashole made us wait for ~6 hours just to give us back our papers&key at the end of the day.
we later crossed somewhere else :)
