We bounced the hour road out here after all the good reviews to find a closed sign but open gate. Walked up and asked about camping, they were NOT friendly. They said they made a "decision" to not allow camping and the restaurant is only open by reservation.

Nice family, very accommodating. They let us camp in the flat field by the creek, about 150m from the bathrooms. Plenty of room there for larger and more vehicles, though it's a tight turn off the lane (they'd probably make it bigger if you asked). The dairy farm also raises fighting cocks so there's a bit of noise, but they settle down at dark. Lots of hiking from here. 4x4 definitely not needed unless you're camping in a wet field (dry when we were here), though it is a slow and bumpy drive from Nebaj (25-30 min).

We drove up to Finca Antonio in the evening with the idea that camping was 100 per vehicle forgetting that most people travel in couples not families. The first thing we were told at arrival was that 100Q is for two people and we should expect to pay more. Hugo was contacted and the price for the 5 of us was 150Q and they wanted us to know that the shower had only cold water! We found the price to high, even though the place is very beautiful and the surroundings spectacular. We were told that another family of 4 had paid only the 100 Q but they didnt use the toilet. Ok, so 50 Q for using the toilet and 100 for parking at their property!
Too expensive! Actually we didnt feel treated very nicely.
We left and found a spot to camp in Acul for 40Q including cold shower and toilet.

Hugo, the owner of Hacienda San Antonio is very hospitable and so are the people who work there. La Señora Maria is the person in charge when Hugo is not around. We payed 100 Quetzales per vehicle, per night. were allowed accessed to hot showers, clean restrooms and had a nice dinner for 40 Quetzales per person. The place is gorgeous and you can hike up the mountain through herds of milking cows. There are rooms to reat and cabañas are available in the hacienda mext door (owned by the same family). You may need 4x4.

Incredibly beautiful farm up in the mountains outside Nebaj (about an hour drive from town). 100q per car to camp and there *is* space for more than one vehicle. (They also have cabanas for 150q per person) Restaurant, bathroom, wifi, cold showers. Well worth the visit!!
