We stayed here for one night 30k for two of us to camp in our truck. It was beautiful and we walked the trail in the back in the morning. The washrooms are a little sketch, no toilet seats and they lock the doors at night (they were still locked at 7:30am).🍁

We had a really nice stay here for one night. All comments before are still valid. Potable water available. We paid 20.000 COP per night for two persons.
You can do a hike with your dog into the valley here as long as you don't enter the Nationalpark.

Great spot with views and access to El Cocuy. Active working Hacienda, rustic bordering on run down. A great experience staying there. You can hike into the Valle de Frailejones without a guide. There is a nice flat spot with excellent view of the valley, 2 rigs fit easily, could squeeze a few more. The electric showerhead was not working when we were here, best ask before getting ready! Otherwise it is an ice water shower. Flor cooked us a hearty meal the night before our big hike.

great place to stay for hiking in El Cocuy. They serve excellent food (18.000 for dinner). You can camp for 12.000 per night per person. very friendly people there! we also did the google meet video up here which is obligatory for entering the park as we had LTE with Claro.

Bel endroit a 3500 metres un peu froid mais normal. Juste a la limite du parc donc pas a s inscrite au bureau du parc qui est ferme le dimanche am. Accueil sympa et jolie vue. Reseau chez tigo. Parfait pour qq nuits

Good place to camp before and after the hike to Cocuy. Clean bathrooms. You can use the fireplace and they also can provide dinner and breakfast for a good price. Big rigs can enter that place as well.

We loved our 3 days at La Esperanza. Fantastic views and the host family is very nice. A great place to acclimate to the altitude.

Hot water shower (but bad shower head). However, the tend to lock the doors at night meaning no bathroom/shower until the morning. But perhaps you can ask for a key?

If you’re hiking to Laguna Grande, ask Flora to prepare lunch for when you get back. 20,000 and it was delicious. Attached is a photo.

It’s a very nice place and very comfortable if you want to hike or relax. The view is picturesque and the family very friendly! Flora cooks good meal for 15k and for the night we paid
only 10k for two persons.
We had good telephone reception.

As discribed by others. Nice big flat place to park to the left of the hacienda. Charged us 10k per day for two of us and our truck. Bathroom and shower as discribed.
Please be aware that you must secure all permits, insurance and guide BEFORE you come up here. Stop is Guican or El Cocuy and make all of your arrangements for hiking prior to making the hour drive to any of these sites. If you plan on doing more than one hike, make all arrangements in town before coming here. Nice family running the hacienda.

Report Check-In

We paid 10,000 pp to park in the parking lot with use of the bathroom and shower. We were directed to park so that buses could turn around in the small lot since this is the end of the road. Sufficient if you want to do the hike.

Report Check-In

Very rustic place. Maybe you can find a level place to park. Maybe not. The NP is opened again and there is lot of traffic from dropping people off and picking them up later. People are super nice but not really a place to spend a night. There is way better and free options on the route here. If you come here just do to the hike then parking is 5thousand COP. It's possible to arrange English speaking guide with them. There is 2 Sergios in the NP area who speaks English.

Open. 10k per person to camp and no longer includes use of the bathrooms (there is a pit toilet up near the sheep pen he let us use). They also don't serve food anymore. Not the nicest area to pitch a tent but the trailhead to Laguna Grande is in their backyard (Not allowed to go all the the way to the lake right now because the park is closed but they are permitting people to hike to the mirador above the waterfall where you have a view of El Pulpito del Diablo glacier).

Report Check-In

Hardly a campsite if there is nowhere to camp? Unless I misunderstood the area where I was directed to for camping was not suitable at all for tents, Kanwara much better in this respect.

Great family run place. Sleep in truck 10k, very good three course dinner 15k, breakfast 10k. Hot showers. Recommended!

Very friendly. Marco is a real original! We liked it a Lot although the weather was not the best. The hike to the Laguna Takes 6hrs return if you are fit. Rooms are 45,000 included. Breakfast. Beautiful landscape

We liked it very much. We especially liked the good food and the hot shower (best suicide-shower ever). From here, you can walk to the laguna grande de la sierra in 8 hours incl. your way back. Guillermo, the son of the owner is a chef and if he is there' try to profit from his art. Nice place!
