As described. The price is now 80/person to camp. We stayed 3 days while we recovered from a stomach flu. Very quiet at the parking behind the restaurant, but a fair walk to the bathrooms.

Nice place to stop for a couple nights. Affordable to camp but the cabins are a little pricey. They have a nice trout pond where you can catch your dinner / lunch and the restaurant will prepare it for you. The restaurant is pretty impressive for a “campground.” They can get a little busy on the weekends - especially in the morning. Overall it’s a nice place but it is a little out of the way and not necessarily a “natural” campground.

BigRig friendly
If you can pass the pass road with your vehicle, you will also get here easily. Place to flat stand is enough.

I went to Venta (villa cortes is another one 1km away from venta) just on my way to Paso Cortes because I read the reviews here, so I spent less than an hour there, to be honest I was expecting that the lake and the waterfall were real but not haha still I think it will be a good place for camping, the price for entry is still 10$ the view for the volcan wasn't that good either, I personal preferd the area of Paso cortes now that I saw both.

This place truly is awesome, tranquil, and a good place to rest (especially after the terrible dirty road).

Cost is 60 pesos/person (10p entrance fee and 50p per person to sleep). It’s a steal.

The parking lot facing the lake has three levels, I parked on the highest level. Really quiet and close to the pathway leading 20 meters up to get good views of the Volcano. Clean bathrooms.

If you come here, please consider to support this place and future overlanders by patroning the restaurant or the other services they offer. 60 pesos/person is not that much, it’s really just the “get-in” price. Get a beer or a coke, at least. Thanks!

We parked in the lot next to the trout lake overlooking the water. Camping was 50 pesos per person. No showers, bathrooms available in the restaurant. A beautiful waterfall next to us and if you keep walking up the hill there is an amazing view of the volcano, felt so close. Lots of activities you can pay for, trout fishing-you pay to fish then pay to have the restaurant cook it, zip line, archery and I’m sure much more. We just hung out and enjoyed watching the volcano.

They rent cabins for 1600 pesos.

Cold and very windy in January 😏

Cabins are M$1200 and include breakfast, hot chocolate/coffee and a bottle of red wine. There was a fire and enough for wood to last the night. Very cosy!

50 peso per person a night to camp behind the restaurant next to the river. nice quit place we had to ourselves.

Report Check-In

Really nice place. Camping for cars is a bit hidden behind the restaurant (second entrance to geht there, someone will show you where it is). Very quiet at night. Fresh spring water. No cell phone reception or WiFi. Toilets were locked when we camped there.
