Description

A very quiet and nice place!! One parking lot at the end of the road.
If you prefer - to the right, you will find a good off-road with very nice spots in Forest.

,** AS OF 20/4/21 road to right has been logged. very minimal spots at road head. parking area still good to go!

Campfire possible but must call to obtain a permit. Permit is free.
Minutes away from the gate to enter Yosemite. Great place to stay and then head to the gate before it gets crowded. No cell service but my wifi jet pack worked great.

Super endroit ! Plusieurs espaces disponibles et un seul autre véhicule. Hors saison, c’est super tranquille.

First of all, PLEASE VIEW THE PHOTOS for here!

A Park Ranger encouraged me to stay here for the night so it is 100% safe to crash at. She also handed me a sheet on local campsites to stay at in the area in case this goes wrong. I included pictures of that sheet here!!

I got here around 4pm and there were already cars. I stayed on the parking lot because it was more level, but you can go off-road too. There are no amenities here but right inside the park, there are bathrooms and of you go to the Mariposa Grove Welcome Center, you can get water.

Report Check-In

Nice dispersed campground in Sierra Natl. Forest. Sites in the trees aren't too flat but if you get there early enough in the day you can navigate a flat site, otherwise there's the asphalt lot (which fills up fast in the evening). Large dumpster but no toilets available. Quiet, easy access off 41, right outside 41 gate to Yosemite. Need campfire permit. Please pick up your trash, we had to pick up a fair share of toilet paper. Stayed 2 nights, was very peaceful . Stayed in camper van.

Report Check-In

Nice, quite, plenty of room for at least 6 RV or campers. No signal.

Report Check-In

Great place. Only 1 other RV but there was
plenty of room

Report Check-In

Great boondocking spot next to the park entrance! Nicer than the campgrounds in the park. Minimal noise from distant music and light traffic throughout the night, but well worth having a free place to stay right outside the park.

Report Check-In

Great spot! So many nice sites in the forest to the right of the parking lot!

Report Check-In

the parking lot to the north is perfect for starlink and large RVs, has a dumpster on one side of the lot

Report Check-In

Quiet among the trees. This place is great. I could stay here for much longer. It gets busy in the evenings as people return from their day in Yosemite. People also drive through here with no respect for others kicking up so much dust. Slow down and be respectful. Speaking of respect my wife picked up two full bags of other peoples trash they left. This is why I hate people. They want to be outdoors but they don’t respect it and act like assholes drinking and trashing nature and scaring all the animals away with their loud music. Shut the f up and clean up after yourself or just stay in the city.

Report Check-In

Awesome place to pull off and crash for the night before heading into park. 5 or so people in tents. We stayed in our van no problems at all!

Report Check-In

We stayed here for a week and did the 45 minute drive into Yosemite valley everyday. Nice place to camp just outside the park.

Report Check-In

Endroit très bien situé près de l’entrée de Yosemite National Park, large stationnement asphalté ou choix d’emplacements dans la forêt. Vraiment un beau spot.

Report Check-In

Showed up late & so many people were set up and hanging out. Great vibes - wish we arrived sooner!

Report Check-In

Gets pretty busy during the high season. Still no portaloo to be found. People are generally quiet after about 22:00.

Report Check-In

trees are growing back, still a nice spot, getting quite well-known now but makes a nice a little community of boondockers, everyone seems friendly, had nice camp fire, no cell service (T-Mobile)

Report Check-In

lots of open spots to camp out. there is a larger area to the left with a parking lot that has like 30 rigs. we camped to the right cuz it's less crowded. not as pretty due to logging, but just 5 min down the road from the Yosemite entrance!

Report Check-In

About 20 rigs parked here. Several groups, organized, quiet in the afternoon. Road has some big potholes, but you can drive around them. Did not stay overnight, but there was space.

Report Check-In

Loads of people here but a nice vibe - unfortunately when we were here the Porta potty had been taken away - hopefully it gets replaced!

Report Check-In

Great little spot. Super quiet. If you’re looking to snag some sunrise photos of El Cap, it’s about an hour drive from here.

Report Check-In

Still open as of Nov 17!! One other van was parked, felt comfortable. Also right near the entrance to the national park

Report Check-In

Big paved parking lot with Port-a-potty. Plenty of camping areas back in the woods. We drove our Subaru Ascent towing a teardrop to the right at the end of the road back in to what looks like a cleared logging area. Lots of great spots with plenty of room.

Report Check-In

Tried to stay here but the access road was closed to the general public. Access was for Fire Service personnel only.

Report Check-In

My boyfriend and I stayed here last night in our mini bus. Pulled in right before sunset. Lots of other campers and RV’s in the parking lot. We ended up parking on the Forrest side right by it. Lots of room and there was a fire pit and tree stump to sit on. It was a lovely campsite, we felt super safe. Not bothered and you can find isolated spots! Would go back again

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot close to Yosemite! Stayed 4 nights here, lots of other people here but there’s tons of space to spread out into the woods. It’s clean, everyone is quiet and respectful. Outhouse is bring your own toilet paper.

Report Check-In

Nice little meadow next to a big blacktop parking lot. One portapotty and dumpster. Quite for the night that we stayed, about 8-9 other vehicles there as well

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night, very calm, level and a lot of place. Pit toilet. No coverage with t-mobile. Very close to entrance of Yosemite, perfect spot to be when you want to visit the park the day after! Can get crowed, we were 8 vehicules tonight.

The last and perfect place to stay before enter the national park. Lot of space innthe middle of the forest. Safe and quite. We have a 29 ft RV.

Report Check-In

Eine grosse Campesite (ausser im Winter), davor ein sehr grosser Teerparkplatz, im Winter nichts los, stehen hier alleine mit einem weiteren US Camper. Der Weg ist für big rigs wunderbar geeignet.

Report Check-In

Stayed a week here. Cell service close to the park. Trash and portable toilets. Big paved parking lot.

Report Check-In

Lots of places right off the paved road. Cell service good.

Report Check-In

They have road signs that forest is closed and yellow tape to block …. However I did camp and saw one other still camping here anyways.

Report Check-In

They have added port a potties, nice large parking lot even some tent areas, plenty of room, with a few other families here, perfect right before entering Yosemite!

Report Check-In

Almost don’t want to review this. Great spot, the porta potties were cleaned while visiting Yosemite for the day. This beautiful spot has a dumpster, please use it, I cleaned up from others while there as I want this spot to remain open for all to use for free.

Report Check-In

This camp site is still valid. We found another spot nearby so we didn't stay here but it's still available.

Report Check-In

This spot is amazing! Many other cars parked here when we got in late, but we still found a spot easily. Saw some tents setup in the woods. As one reviewer said, the view of the night sky is incredible. Saw a huge shooting star!

Report Check-In

Great location near south entrance of Yosemite. Narrow paved road leading to a level, paved parking lot. Stay on the paved road all the way. Don’t turn off the dirt roads. And this is free?! Great option when visiting Yosemite.

Report Check-In

nice quiet place, right outside of the park (Yosemite, south entrance).
. clean outhouses and good cell service.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Pretty empty right now. No ATT

Report Check-In

Stayed here a few nights for easy access into Yosemite NP. Super close to Wawona entrance! There are spots for tents and a big, level concrete slab for campers/RV’s. There is a dumpster, but no bathrooms or water. Very peaceful. Would stay here again!

Report Check-In

There are some signs saying the area is closed but there were a few other people in the area. Seems like they are chopping a lot of wood out there, but followed the directions of going right before making the left turn to the parking lot. Only one other camper van close to the entrance of going a off pavement. There aren’t too many level areas so I used leveling blocks for the car, but very quiet. Found a nice spot down the “road” and to the right into a clearing. I’m not sure of campfire rules, so I didn’t try as i didn’t want to test my luck. From other posts, it seems you need a permit. I’ll be back for sure! Spent 1 night, no issues.

Report Check-In

As of this week the road to the right of the meadow for dispersed camping has been logged by fire service. the road is gone. but if you have 4x4 you can get back a little ways. trees down everywhere. still very nice area. now there is a ton firewood!

Report Check-In

Awesome spot porta potys on site. Stars were absolutely gorgeous make sure you look up at night 😉 plenty of room for vehicles nice paved lot. Check the weather though so you don’t get stuck!

Report Check-In

Great find. Porta-potties and trash dump but no water. This lot is open 24 hours according to the ranger. Other folks already here but plenty of space. Lots of sun for solar charging and great Verizon signal.

Report Check-In

nice quiet night! no issues and made for a nice night before heading into Yosemite

Report Check-In

LEGO spit! Plenty of spots to camp
For lots
Of vehicles

Report Check-In

Trees are being cut just beneath the paved area, but it is still possible to park a car there and put up a tent.

Report Check-In

Great place near south entrance to Yosemite. We stayed here for 2 nights and had no issues. Very quiet and lots of space.

Report Check-In

Large turnout just beyond the parking lot. Quiet and close to Yosemite.

Report Check-In

Nice small place. No water. No bathroom. No trash facilities. So please be mindful. It can be loud depending on who is here but don’t get mad there are no rules enforced and you can move away or just ask them to turn it down a little. Overall I’m happy. You must have a fire permit. They will come and check to see it.

Report Check-In

Very nice secluded place! Just check the weather before, if there is a snowstorm coming they might close the road. We would still be stuck there if a ranger didn't wake us up in the morning to tell us 🙃

Report Check-In

Arrived late driving from Death Valley to west entrance of Yosemite. We were happy to find this location right outside the park. It was dark and foggy when we arrived but the road was easy to find. 1/2 mile or so drive outs you at a very large paved lot. We had decent Verizon service here. The lot is huge! We were the only ones there when we stayed. It looks like there are some wooded camp spots too, maybe for tents.

Report Check-In

Très bien situé juste avant l’entrée du Yosemite national Park beaucoup de place

Report Check-In

Beautiful, hang a right for some good forest camping and a left if you want a parking lot. It's only 5 mins from Mariposa Grove parking lot.

Report Check-In

Very large asphalt parking in the woods. The place is level. There are several camping spots in the woods all around the parking. For the more adventurous you can continue on the dirt road (continue straight at the intersection) and you can find several other spot. Be careful this road is not maintained. The place is still popular so do not expect to be alone. sleep there 3 night and was fine.
