Description

This is a beautiful spot on Laguna Milagros (Lagoon of Miracles). Clear blue water for swimming, cabannas, restaurant, electricity with extension cord. The name has changed (used to be Gringo Daves) when we stayed before. We paid $200 pesos for one night, including electricity. It is a day use area as well, but friendly locals, and quiet in the evening. the family lives onsite. Several restaurants within walking distance. Plenty of room for big rigs, no entrance arch to worry about. Phone number 983-119-4334.
Very poor bathrooms and shower almost non-existent

It's an ok place... price is now 300 (they wanted 400). Parking is 50-70 meter from the water. The electricity outlet was quite far away from where we could park, so could not reach.

The entrance do not inspire trust to go inside.
We didn’t stay

Back again after two weeks of touring Belize. Perfect overnight stop to get groceries, recharge phone data, and get ready to head up to the Yucatan!

Report Check-In

Nice location, but very poor bathrooms! For 200 pesos for a van, if your a family that’s good value but you would except a little better than what they provided, shower is pretty much non-existent. The lake is beautiful but the general maintenance of the place is non-existent. Your paying for a nice view of the lake and the convenience of being close to the border, it’s a stop over not a picture perfect destination 😉 it’s a day use venue that also caters for locals to visit during the early evenings and blast their music.

Great lakeside view, good swimming. water fill for RVs. Bathroom ok. But the views are certainly worth 200 pesos a night.

Very nice camping to chill. Right on the laguna. 200 pesos for a night per rv or 150pesos for a tent. Number of people doesn’t matter. Cold shower outside only. Bathroom is not the cleanest but ok. Hose to fill you tank available.
There is a restaurant, we didn’t try it but the food looked good. Palapas to enjoy. No wifi but there is cell service

Report Check-In

Such a nice place !! We stayed there 5 nights before crossing the border. During the weekend is quite busy but during the week is so quite.
200 pesos a night
Toilet are basic (bring your own tp) there is an outdoor shower and you can have some free water to refill your water tank.
Unfortunately they didn’t want to give us the wifi and were not the nicest people but the place is incredible!
It’s big rig friendly, tent friendly and dog friendly.

this was as described by all. A beautiful spot and we had company with a German couple heading North.

Stayed here for a couple of nights before crossing into Belize. Chill vibe with Palapas right at the water. Toilets definitely need some help allyhough they are in the process of building new ones. Nice guys, kayak rental and bunch of restaurants near by.
WE LOST OUR DRONE HERE! I am sure it was my own fault but if anyone ever sees a DJI Mavic Air 2 washed up on shore... I would LOVE to retrieve the footage as we haven't backed it up for weeks... :-(((

200p for 2 with big rig. Nice guys. They have a bar next to the camping and one of them came to explain to us that there might be some music in the night, which we thought was considerate! And it didn’t bother us at all so wasn’t too loud either. Spend one night here

Report Check-In

Beautiful place! Stayed for obe night. Quiet and the gate is closed at night. Payed 100pp which is the usual price in this area. Toillets ok. Some trash even though they take care of the place usually. Would stay there again.

Report Check-In

When we arrived in the evening at 9pm, we were allowed to use the facilities but we were not able to stay at the campground because the guy didn’t have the key. We paid 100 pesos to camp in our van on the parking lot and use the facilities. The site looks great and has lots of potential but the facilities are lousy.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot close to the lake. Bathrooms are dodgy. Shower requires that you hold a lever to dispense spittle of water. Music and frolicking families during the day. Quiet at night. 150 pesos for two of us in our truck.

Report Check-In

To clarify: we did not sleep here. We did wild camping at the other side of the lagoon and then at chetumal. But we needed a shower and a breeze and this place was perfect for 15mx pe.

Report Check-In

Very cool site. We spent the day here as our budget is low and we couldn’t afford the other camping site in Chetumal. They charged us 15 pesos per person and we were allowed to stay all day long, use showers and wifi. We parked right in front of the lagoon, lot’s of wind, really cool.

Report Check-In

We arrived here on a Monday afternoon and some local day users were present, but no sign. We drove in to find the toilets boarded up and no one around to ask about camping, the place looks closed down unfortunately. Stayed at YaxHa north of Chetumel instead

Report Check-In

$150 per night after some haggling. Asked us to park in the back, garbage everywhere.

Report Check-In

Beautiful lake in a semi functional campground. Mostly used as a day use area for locals. Party’s can be loud on the weekend. We stayed two nights Friday and Saturday. Paid 450 pesos per night for our 33’ rig w 5 people and 2 dogs. The electric is sketchy and only works at night. The restrooms aren’t great. The place has a ton of potential. Appears they are making progress to improve.

Report Check-In

Just as described. From 8pm on we had the place to ourselves. Monday morning went for a beautiful swim in the aqua green waters of the lagoon. A peaceful little paradise. We paid 150p for 2 adults, 2 kids for the night without electric. As mentioned, bring your own Tp.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Palapas with light, flush toilets and showers (not very clean but they work).
The price was 120 pesos for a camper and two of us but we were visited by guardian at dinner and he asked for 200 pesos for 24 hours. We sad it is not 24 hours because we will leave at nine in the morning. It was 180 then.
We didn't pay 60 more and he said 120 is OK. It is common in Mexico. Night shift tries to get some pesos more.

Great cheap alternative to bacalar. Not quite as many colors in the water, but still beautiful nevertheless. We arrived on Saturday and it was very crowded and the music was very very loud. it sounded like drunk karaoke, but it was just a little man with a synthesizer and time... I would have paid double to make him stop. Sunday morning the pa started at 8am sharp. Monday was an entirely different experience as we had the place to ourselves. Many mosquitos day and night, wild coconuts litter the earth bring a machete. The seafood place next door was a bit expensive.
lots of shade, easy to find flat ground, electricity turns on at dark, didn't shower just used the lake, paid 150 pesos per night.

Report Check-In

$120 pesos for 2 adults and one child (4yo). We opted to ignore the parking area, and drive up to the first palapa at the far end of the grounds. They were fine with us being on the grass. We had huge palapa for ourselves, beautiful views of the lake. Flush toilets with no seats, bring your own paper, friendly staff running the restaurant bringing food out to various families scattered about the grounds. Two different docks for jumping in water, kayak rentals, and a beautiful lake. Close proximity to Belize border, without having to go through or to chetumal.

Report Check-In

We paid 120 pesos for 2 people including electricity. It's a lively day use place but by 7:30 we had the place all to ourselves. There is a gate they lock at night. Seemed very safe and secure. Plenty of room and a good view. They also have cabanas for rent.
