We enjoyed the visit a lot. Also we took a Guide, which costs 100 bob, but totally fine, if you do it with a group. Simon explained so much to us that would have stayed hidden to our eyes. Not only about the el fuerte but he also pointed out interesting plants and animals. If you go to El Fuerte, I would recommend taking a guide.

still 50 per person. even if you buy the ticket here it gets you access to the museum too. 2 hours is a fair guess of time to spend here. not much shade so definitely bring a hat. no dogs allowed but the parking lot has some shady areas to park in and the weather is pleasant enough to leave them for a bit.

We spent 2 hours here. Still 50 bolivianos per person, which we paid at the Museo in town (included in the price). Doing the museum first gave us a little bit of background information before visiting the ruins. Unique due to there being buildings from three different cultures: Chane, Inca and the Spanish. We enjoyed our time here and would recommend.

Nice place to visit regarding the precolombian culture. Located at 2h30 walking or 20 minutes by car. It's 50bs the entrance fee including the museum located in samaipata center (probably better to visit it beforehand going to el fuerte to understand better the history - very small but nice).

nice set of ruins that are well-maintained with easy walking path, good explanations in Spanish and English, 50b entry and well worth it, not sure what people are complaining about, an excellent way to spend an afternoon

lugar practicamente sin informacion que explique que es cada cosa, muy aburrido, No merece la pena gastar los 50 bolivianos.

Report Check-In

For me was a waste of money, 50bs is too much for this place. Important things are not explained in the signs.

After seeing so many Jesuit churchs it was nice to see something different. I liked it. Every explanation also in English.

we have today the world Heritage site visits and loved. the entire system is maintained, explanations also in English are at the entrance and on the Circuit available. the road to the parking is paved. there is, However, stay not allowed.

Report Check-In

there are actually English explanations everywhere. I agree that these are not the most impressive ruins but there are quite nice and different from most other ruins I've seen so far.

Report Check-In

If you are a stone fanatic this may be your place, but we had been quite disappointed. Nearly no explanations, loveless poor reconstruction, no displayed artefacts, only boring gras areas... We just missed the atmosphere of ruins, of something former great and fantastic had been here... So for us it was waste of money!

Precolumbian world heritage site with impressive rock temple, Inca additions and Spanish archeology. 1,5 hour trail. 50 BOB per person for foreigners. Well organised.
