Description

A checkpoint here looking for a way to give a fine. Please make sure you'll have the following:
- Drivers license
- Car papers
- Carnet de passage or passavant
- Car insurance
- Vaccination papers (not totally sure if necessary)
- Fire extinguisher
- Red safety triangle
- Shoes on while driving (flipflops not allowed!!)

We were lucky because we were driving without shoes, but since we had them in the front we bluffed ourselves out of it...

Report Check-In

If going to Labe, the road goes over a mountain pass. The road is rough and rocky for about 30km. It took us about 4 hours, but most cars should be able to make it. We were driving a 2000 Fiat Panda 4x4, so a very small and low car. We hit the bottom quite a few times, but nothing major. The dirt road becomes paved again after the mountain pass. You can pass this section in the rainy season, and it's very beautiful!

Report Check-In

They were very polite to us, but there were plenty others were they wanted to give a ticket for missing equipment. Make sure to have:
2 triangles
fire extinguisher
first aid kit
and all your car paperwork and insurance

I'm sure there are other things as well that I'm forgetting.

Also, some cops tried to fine us for not having a traffic vignette (sticker in the window saying you paid road tax). Foreign cars do not need this, don't pay for it, our friends had to go to 3 police stations to finally meet someone who knew the rules, and told them they could go.
